This is the army Mr. Jones No Private Rooms or Telephones You had your breakfast in bed before, but you wont get it there anymore This is the army Mr. Brown You and your baby went to town She had you worried but this is war, and she won't worry you any more No she won't worry you any more!
People really needs to listen and learn story of they experience. It's heart breaking what they fighting for. They will live on memories of heroes has fight for Hope, Freedom and Justice.
So adorable sweet kind caring. Blessing to have such love kindness care in family across generations young and old and such sweet nice people otherwise too in society
every time I watch this I cry when the singing starts and the baby laughs and giggles because it reminds me so much of the fond memories I have of my grandfather. Each time I see this scene I wish I could just have one more day to be with him, just one more day to hear his stories. My grandfather served in the US Merchant Marines and his brother served in the USMC during WWII they're the reason why I joined the ARMY.
In a way Bink’s nanny was a life saver to begin with. If she didn’t read the book when she did then Bink probably wouldn’t had found his way around the city after his abduction.
To all the World War II veterans from the US, UK, France, and Russia, thank you for your grand service. Y'all inspire me to fight against the greatest evil of all that still sadly exists to this day.
This is such a beautiful scene. An army veteran sits sombrely, reflecting on his years in service, reliving the pain and wondering where his life went. Then like a miracle, in crawls the cutest baby in existence, who just has to smile, and bring the joy and zest for life out of all those old men, who sing with love until bubs is reunited with his parents. Love this movie, it's so sweet.
I like to think that Bink made a difference in the men's lives by simply showing up and breaking the old routine that they had and were so happy that they sang.
You're right. I think he also helped these poor retired soldiers to remember why they fought in the wars - to give the youth a chance to grow up in peace.
I have a theory that Bink visited them when he was growing up. Every Christmas, birthday... funeral. I'd like to think they helped raise him to be an upstanding young lad
@@hailtothevic I like to think that in the aftermath of the film's events, Bink's father donated a large sum of money, perhaps $2.5 million or so, to the Old Soldiers' Home to thank them for taking in his son after he escaped the kidnappers, and it is done in a public ceremony where Bink and his father presented a large check to the old soldiers.
Happy Veteran's Day everyone! Let us remember these fine men and all the pain and suffering they've endured to protect us and our freedom! May their courage, dedication, and sacrifice NEVER be forgotten or in vain!
For a movie that built its entire plot on crotch-banging slapstick, this is such a wholesome moment that I can't help but crying everytime I see it. This is an amazing scene.
Now I’m a mum, I watched this scene and cried so hard. The relief to find your baby safe and well must be the most relieving but at the same time nauseating feeling ever for a mother to experience. And the fact he has the men surround him like protectors is even more poignant ❤
I only remembered watching this as a kid, was with my niece and nephews today and saw this, gosh it was tear jerking, never had that emotional moment with the mother but as an adult, the reunion made me cry.
This scene always makes me think of my late grandfather, not only did he and my Grandma play this movie a lot for me as a kid, but he was also a war veteran. Ever Since he passed away, this scene makes me emotional as it adds more poignancy for me.
that is one smart kid (even though he didn't know it yet) he was just following his book, little did he know at the end he was being protected by some of the worlds finest.
This really was a beautiful movie, wasn’t it? Watched it on VHS many times as a kid and I always remember this scene. Also when he nearly kills them in the park. Thanks for uploading.
They’ll never be another creator like John Hughes, and he captured the prospective of each character and their interactions with other individuals and barriers if any perfectly. And it’s a real shame the sequel of it never happened. It’s a beautiful movie and shows how in youth the world around us is new and joyous with limitless possibilities and adventures waiting to be explored. Also this is was the last consistent decade for wonderful family movies.
The veterans knew Baby had been kidnapped and was 'on the run' from the kidnappers, so naturally they formed all-round-defence around him and waited for his family
This song is definitely a good idea of what to expect in the military when especially coming in as a new recruit going into basic training. There’s no laziness in the army because you’re doing an important yet demanding job and that’s often to defend others from evil forces and you need to be ready for the enemy
⭐REMEMBER: If you ever feel like the day is not going your way... it's people like these veterans who FOUGHT FOR us to live in a much better world than ever before!
Yes indeed Jessy. The gray-haired veteran was played by the late Eddie Bracken, the SAME Eddie Bracken who played the kind-hearted toy store proprietor "Mr. Duncan" in "Home Alone 2". :-)
There are a lot of parts I like about this movie but, I like this part the most because not only do these elderly folk who were once soldiers sing to a baby but said baby and parents were reunited with their missing child.
Brings me nostalgia I remember watching this when i was a kid and although I forgot most of the movie growing up 🎵This is the army mr brown🎵never left my head

that old guy looks so genuinely happy to see the baby
makes me smile every single time
Because children give joy. Check "old people's homes for 4 years old"
The gorilla scene plus that old man's face make this worth sitting through.
So loving
@@pugtie4695 To me it is such a beautiful movie, no need to phrase it like its horrid or something.
that's the same man that gave kevin the turtle doves in home alone 2
The way the veterans sing to Bink is like they’re celebrating his completion of his adventure.
While also foreshadowing him being reunited with his parents.
So lovely sweet
They just don't make movies with heartfelt scenes like this anymore. Do they even bother to try these days?
@@seanreyes6866ya
Nothing like the innocence and the smile of a baby that brings joy to an old soldier’s heart and makes his day
Old veterans like these men always have the best stories to tell.
Too bad most of them are gone. I miss the early 2000's watching history channel docs and enjoying stories from the vets.
They sure do. I would like to listen to them.

Also the symbolism, these veterans met a baby, a symbol of new life. So they regain their spirit of life again at this retirement home.

If you ask me, she and Detective Grissom were the real heroes in addition to the veterans !
I've always loved this scene when they start singing.
The kid survived being kidnapped and escaped. He's a soldier.

This scene really did a good job capturing the warmth and comfort of the GI Generation.
