3:24 I also put some oil to lubricate the moving parts inside as recommended by the author. It didn't help. Then I disassembled the actuator and I found the above mentioned tube ( or hole) was sealed, i.e not pass-through. So it make no sense to put some oil in the hole. Once disassembled I found no corrosion, the motor in good, working condition, was enough white lubricant inside. Have no idea what caused the problem. So I just lubricated with some additional silicone all moving parts inside. Then assembeled the mechanism and put it back. 2013 VW Tuareg NF.
Did you have any video or image of the inside of the actuator i need a reference, i also opened it but my locking mechanism is good but the round shaped plastic does not rotate.
I am happy it helped you. If the lock is stuck means it’s a solenoid issue otherwise it’s a free moving mechanism without having any power input. This part would require replacement likely..hope you tried pressing hard on the twist lock
