Anyone else notice Ant's radio voice here? He's sorta doing a old timey news reporter voice at times. He realised it was lame and stopped doing it eventually. I hate this era of the show, when Opie told the staff to obnoxiously fake laugh in the background at nothing it's like a laugh track, Ben took it too far and you could hear him all the time.
This shit is too infuriating to find funny. For me, it just causes PTSD about every chick I've ever been with, and how they always have some bitter, overbearing, obsessed and pathetic mom who the chick reveres as if she were god himself. The mom always thinks she's telling interesting stories, but in reality, they're always telling some pathetic and bitter story about something that happened 30 and 40 years ago that makes them seem really petty and obsessed. They'd try to include me in these meaningless meanderings and I'd just be so fed up that I couldn't even feign politeness anymore. I'd just say things like "I can't remember what I did this morning, let alone think about stuff that happened 20 years ago that didn't even matter". I wish I could say that this is one of those "I have a type" situations. But the reality is that ive dated women from all walks of life and cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. From the counter girl at the local corner store, to a professional secretary, to a doctor. They have this weird f'ing relationship with their moms. In one case, I dated this college educated well off woman who worked at some medical billing place, and her mom used to pick out her clothes and shit. When I started to notice little things like that, it was a huge turn off and started feeling creepy. Like BIG time- I'm talking about I stopped having sex with her because I had this permanent turn off of how child like she got when she was around her mom. It felt like I was with an inappropriately young chick. She was in her late 20s, and her mom had to give her permission to get her hair done and told her what to wear for work. That old lady was a pain in the balls, and that's exactly where in life I learned to stop being polite. She would do stupid shit, like when I got my ex flowers, the mom would say that she didnt like them because she didnt like tulips because those were flowers at her mother's funeral. What I wanted to say was "who gives a flying shit what you think?". But what came out was "oh, well I'll keep that in mind in case the flowers are ever for you instead of your daughter". This is why I understand what Ant means when he jokes about dating women who have family issues or no family at all.
