One hot summer | وحر صيفًا

الإحساس بموجة الحر الشديد هذا الصيف استثنائي جدًا. طقس متطرف في أنحاء البلاد، وانقطاع للكهرباء تنطفئ معه المراوح والتكييفات باستمرار. عالميًا كان شهر يوليو الأسخن في التاريخ المُسجل، وكذلك متوقع أن تكون السنة دي «الأحر» خلال 174 سنة، حسب علماء في وكالة ناسا والإدارة الأمريكية للبحار والجو. مثل الكثيرين، قضينا هذا الصيف في الإسكندرية، وسجلنا في هذه اليوميات الإحساس بالحر ومحاولات التكيف معاه بحثًا عن الراحة والطراوة.

The intense heat wave this summer was like none other, palpably felt by all with anomalous weather across Egypt and exacerbated by electricity outages shutting off fans and air conditioners. According to scientists at NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, July was globally the hottest on record, and 2023 is expected to round out as the Earth's hottest year measured in 174 years of documentation. Like so many others, we spent the summer in Alexandria, recording in this video diary how it felt to seek respite from the heat in the steamy coastal city
