Nothing sounds better when you put power selector into ground idle... that deep hum of the SH1750s introducing fuel. Love the sound every time, never gets old.
what does HH stand for , i know AH is Attack Helicopter , MH is Maritime Helicopter , UH for Utility Helicopter , SH is for special/submarine helicopter ... does it came from the word Haul , i search its code for "search and rescue" but does it makes sense that H stand for Haul . since their operation is mostly Hauling something out or in to somewhere . don't mind me , i just love the H-60 series .
Ok question why do they stand outside the chopper during start up? It seems a lot of them have some kind of wire attached to the chopper...... what's that for?
In the Coast Guard you are referred to as a Flight Mechanic (FM) or Basic Aircrewman (BA) depending on your qualification. Crew Chief is a Navy title. The cord is indeed the internal communication system (ICS). That is what is used to communicate with the aircrew and pilots. The FM is posting fireguard for APU, which was already running and the #1 and 2 engines. If there is a fire on startups, the FM is responsible to fight the fire long enough to get the pilots and crew out safely as a worse case scenario. I have over 1100 hours as a FM and instructor in these 60s.
Because they are outside of a chopper standing ..... Plus it's important to understand about seizures and blackouts about themselves .....they might not know wat a seizure or black out is .....but they will be able to feel the vibrations of the stand outside .....
@@tima858 Crew Chief is not a Navy title they are known as Plane Captains. They do not fly with the aircraft, that's a special rate AW. The CE or crew chief is a Army/Marine aircrew title. You are correct that both CE and FM stand outside for fire guard but we also stood outside to watch for the droops, surprised someone with your experience didn't know or just plain forgot.
they are basically the same sir just different equipment ,i read the H is stand for its purposes which is "search and rescue" the symbol H is i think its stand as medical symbol . just like SH is the same as MH , but dedicated for anti-subs . you might called it BH-60 if it's purposes and set as bomber . or maybe FH-60 if it used for firefighter , or PH if its police .

What's a SH1750? Are you abbreviating Shaft Horsepower?
The colour scheme plus the helicopter is beautiful
An amazing piece of machinery
Start ups are the freakin best
A beautiful piece of American hardware🇺🇸
Hearing them start up in person is so much cooler lol
Go Sikorsky! Igor’s dream cames to fruition, saving lives, anywhere, anytime. 🇺🇸👍🇺🇸
I can’t help but laugh when it taxis down the runway. Like a big bird that’s over flying for everything

The "H" stands for Search & Rescue/MEDEVAC the 2nd "H" stands for Helicopter. The MH-60 Variant stands for "Mutli-Mission/Helicopter"
Esta bonito el diseño

The crew-chief is watching for fire. He is in constant communication with the pilots because they cannot see what’s going on behind them.

That's just a Black Hawk painted with different colors with a rearranged tail wheel!
With ear protection how noise y are they inside?
Very loud. I always wore ear plugs inside my helmet and you still had to yell to the guy next to you. That’s why they have onboard commas (ICS).
@@slapshot121212 jeez. Didnt know being in these badies were that loud. Thanks
