I imagine that during his driving test, Dan will try and press the drift button and get a mini-turbo for more points to make up for him driving up the wall.
I would say it’s embarrassing I lost a few times to Dan with a wheel, but THEY USED TO CALL HIM THE DRIFT KING BACK IN COLLEGE, I had no chance when he was using a real wheel.

Funnily enough, as part of my driving training in school, we had to use a steering wheel like this Nintendo one for the virtual driving simulation! It was as bad as it sounds. I had to redo a module once because I was watching a polygonal pedestrian walk UP a light pole.

For anyone trying to pass an exam…your biggest enemy is hand over hand steering. Depending on your instructor, they can fail you for that because “you don’t have full control of the vehicle during that turn”. The best idea is to not do it, at least until you’ve passed. It comes as second nature to me for some reason, and mums trying to drill into me that I can’t do that.
Another tip: in a lot of places, if you don't have your seatbelt already on when you start the car, they will fail you IMMEDIATELY.
Better to put your seatbelt on first thing, before even putting your key in the ignition, much less starting it.
This will also give your instructor and anyone else riding with you time to put their seatbelts on as well, because there are also instructors who will fail you (or at least point you for safety) if THEY also don't have their seatbelts on when you start the car.
I know it's their job to teach people how to drive safely when there's a million ways to "youtube" it up and kill someone and all that, but it kinda sounds like some driving instructors are insufferable.
@@blarg2429Oh they are. At least the ones who grade you for the test. They aren’t allowed to give any feedback so if you fuck something small up you’re not going to know until you’ve failed and need to retake it.
I’m realizing how bitter this sounds, and I don’t know why. I passed my test first time and have had no bad experiences with driving instructors lmfao. In all fairness to them it has to be terrifying to ride with people who aren’t good at driving everyday.
"enemy is hand over hand steering" What even is the alternative? You literally cannot turn the wheel more than like 180 degrees without adjusting your grip, and one hand steadily gripped on the wheel is way more control than two hands with your arms weirdly crossed over to opposite sides.

Whenever I, or anyone around me, feel embarrassed about getting a driver's license a little later than usual, I like to bring up the fact that two of my favorite RUclipsrs still don't have a driver's license despite being full grown adults. Funnily enough, both are Irish. One is called the drift king, and the other spent thousands of dollars on a driving simulator

My mum's Irish too and she didn't get her license until she was in her 30s with two kids. It's really not as necessary in most places as it is in the USA.

As someone who also cannot drive (no one will teach me cause they're scared) and my only form of experience behind the wheel is kart racing (I did it once when I was 12) my favorite almost learning how to drive moment was me hitting the pedal a little too hard, immediately stopping, and turning to my mom to say "I thought I had to hit it hard like the ones in the Mario Kart arcade game-" ever since then I have walked and only used a bike to travel. 😀

You can tell between an experienced driver and the Drift King because the latter’s hands are glued to the wheel and move with it, proving he’s never off the road of gamers. Absolutely phenomenal lad.
I imagine the driving instructor will be quite concerned when you purposely drive offroad into some crates and grab a turtle and some mushrooms.
The crazy thing to me is that RTGame probably doesn’t realize how incomparable this is to real driving
Ngl when I did my first driving lesson I also thought you could turn by turning the wheel +/- 90°
I was freaked out that the car was moving on it's own without pressing the accelerator while in D. That alone erased any notion that my Mario Kart experience would come in handy.

@@snes90my mom neglected to tell 14 year old me this fact when i first learned to drive. i panicked and slammed on the brakes. unfortunately my mom accidentally parked on an ice patch (thanks canada!). my first 30 seconds behind the wheel were pure terror. but its okay i got my license when i was 16 and now i live somewhere where i dont need a car!

You know, last night I actually had a dream where RT was playing mario kart wii! He was on 1cc and playing as Daisy but he could go normal speed on boost pads, but he still got 12th every race. On the final race of the stream he crashed into everyone else, killing them instantly, and he managed to kill 23 racers even though there should have only been 11 other people

I think Im one of the few people to have had a good car crash. I got hit by a car and after the initial panic attack and freak out I was pretty chill. I had a massive bruise on my leg and thought it was the coolest thing. The incident ALSO took place in my neighborhood and thus got on the neighborhood facebook page, so a few days later when I was getting the mail, a couple recognized me and were like "Oh arent you that poor kid who got hit by a car the other day?" to which I, like a normal person, responded "YEAH IT WAS AWESOME. I HAVE A REALLY COOL BRUISE NOW"
My parents got into a car accident when I was 14 or so while leaving the drive through of Inn and Out Burger, they got hit on the passenger side by an elderly man going 30 above the speed limit trying to turn into the parking lot 😭
My first time "driving" was in this out door go-cart place, I crashed a gas powered go-cart. only got a little bruised.

When I was learning to drive, they had me do sessions in a simulator to start off. My gamer instincts couldn't not kick in, so I was cutting corners and not giving a toss about what else was on the road.
