Angelo Debarre is a total monster. I think Django would be knocked out. And the rhythm guitarist is amazingly quick & precise. Really inspiring. I feel so fortunate to be able to hear this!
Funny how when I was younger, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore were my favourite guitarists .... now Angelo Debarre, Wes Montgomery, Paco de Lucia are my farourite guitarists!
Easily my favorite. He transports me into a place where I can glimpse, if briefly, into his gorgeous mind. And is it my imagination or do he, Birelli amd Stochelo bring something of the culture to the music that non- gypsy players of the manouche style cannot?
It's you, non-gypsy players suggests racist style thinking that wouldn't be acceptable no matter how much you might wish there is something magical in blood
Angelo Debarre for me is a true guitar hero, like Stochelo Rosenberg, like Bireli Lagrene, like Tchavolo Schmitt, like Fapy Lafertyn!! And there was Django at the start!!!
Could maybe they did that way on purpose...? Some kind of prior copyright agreement...? Ithought so 'cause, if you have noticed it, that for THE WHOLE song, exactly from the beginning to the end, the camera was taking the other two Anyway... too bad, for real. Fully agree with you
@@paulgibby6932 Thanks a lot! What a wonderful ballad. Edit: After comparing this tune to the Line Renaud version of "Le Soir" (and the Bireli version) I'm sure this is not "Le Soir". Any ideas anyone?
@@Hans_Bickel I'm just pleased I could help you :-) Great song and many beautiful recordings of this tune (Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Helen Carr, Nat King Cole, Count Basie, Ivie Anderson, John Kirby, Benny Morton, Ginny Simms, Stan Getz, Lee Konitz, Paul Bley, Georgia Gibbs, Flip Phillips, Chet Baker and so many others !) Musically yours,
It’s nice to see talented musicians keep Django’s legacy alive-and even take acoustic Gypsy jazz a few steps further than did the original master-but it still seems like a lot of the same thing.
Piece numeros 2

Yorgui Loeffler
If you let me include John McLaughlin, Paco de Lucía, behind them, Larry Corryell (who played with Bireli L.) and far Al Di Meola.

only one name would angelo debarre tell you and that is tchan tchou vidal
Simply genius....all of it.
No dog and pony show..just 3 acoustic string instruments playing magic.
Who knows the title of the song that starts at 13:30? thanks
Impromptu

an absolutely wonderful performance in front of some of the WORST camera work i've ever run across.
Yes. Editing. When Angelo is doing the most amazing things, there's an extended shot of the rhythm guitar plunking.
Funny cameraman. The boozer camera! 😂😂😂

Vienna I think. Austria.

I think maybe "Le Soir" (4 months later: I was wrong :) I'm going with "My Old Flame" like the guys below said)
