Some of you missed my community post and comment on last week's video pertaining to Peter, so here it is again. Hey guys, first off thank you so much for your concern in the comments about Peter. I’ve said this many times before, but I have the best subscribers in the world and appreciate you all looking out for someone that you’ve seen on my channel. I may touch on this in the future, but for now, I need to let you know that Peter no longer works for Legit Street Cars and he’s no longer associated with Legit Street Cars as a channel, brand, or company. Peter is no longer allowed on my personal property or at my shop. Please understand I can't comment any further at this time, and my hope is we can keep things respectful, and keep speculation out of this for the sake of all parties. I am going to keep moving forward and doing what I love most and that is wrenching on cars and sharing the adventure with all of you. We all have the decision in life to let things hold us back or rise above it and I choose the latter. Big thanks to my wife, family, closest friends, and to all of you. You guys make this channel possible and together we’ve created one of the most positive automotive communities in all of RUclips. I’ll see you all in the next video! Alex
This video feels like it came out at a perfect time for your channel. Going back to the roots of the channel is like a reboot after a little bit of drama that happened last week. Glad to see you moving on and creating great Saturday morning content! Buono lavorare Alex!
Max, your editing has skyrocketed to epic levels over the past year. Feels like I’m watching a tv show rather than your typical RUclips vid. Bravo! Alex, you’re alright, too. 😂
The issue of your exhaust smoking before was most likely due to your oil drain set up for your old turbo. The oil drain is gravity feed, and it looked like the routing wasn't a straight shot from the bottom of the turbo to oil pan. When you removed the drain line in this video, oil was dribbling out. That signifies that the oil was pooling up in the drain since it wasn't a direct flow to the pan. This translates to oil not being able to drain quickly enough, which causes excess oil to get built up and get stuck in the turbo. Eventually, the oil will start leaking past the turbine side piston ring seal on the turbine wheel shaft from the excess pressurized oil not being able to gravity drain fast enough. The oil passes through and gets into the turbine wheel area and burns from the hot exhaust. I worked at Turbonetics for 8 years and saw many turbos leak for the same reason. A properly routed oil drain is key to not having the smoking you were experiencing.
@@KreatorOfDeath1985 look again and you'll see that the drain goes upward slightly to where the pan is. Also, the location of the return bung on the pan isn't ideal, both of these will cause the pooling of oil. As I stated, oil came out the drain line when he removed it. There shouldn't be any residual in there if it was a straight shot with no restrictions or upward bends of the line. Not to mention, the smoking issue went away with the new oiless turbo, which further points to a bad oil drain on the old set up.
A couple of my turbo LS buddies are having the same issue as we speak. I’m DEFINITELY going to show them this video and thread!!! Thanks for the explanation!! 🤘
I've been using Comp oil-less turbos since 2020 and they have held up much better than the Precision Gen2's I replaced in the same amount of time. I currently have 3 & all of them have performed flawlessly since the day they were installed, even better when i switched from Haltech Elite's to FuelTech FT550's.
i’m not sure why you would want an oilless turbo? more maintenance and barely any weight savings it just doesn’t make since to me it does look nice i guess not having any lines go to it and it’s nice you wouldn’t have to run oil lines threw your stock oil pan on a budget build but it’s not very budget to get an oilless turbo lol there’s like no situation it would be nice unless it was a show car🤷♂️ unless i’m wrong and there’s something i’m missing?
@@AK086. Also because you don't have to worry about gravity fed return lines you can orient the turbos any way you like, even fully vertical if needed. In tight engine bays like my Z32 300ZX it really comes in handy when laying out the turbo system.

Alex, I’m fairly new to your channel. I think I subbed about two months ago. I absolutely love your content. All of it. I truly love the Trans Am content as like you, I’m a child of the 1980’s. When I was 16 and had only had a license for about a year, I drove a 1965 Mercury Cyclone. It was a 289 with a Holley 650 carb. But, my dad and I were alone after his recent divorce and he wanted a new car. We went out and looked at several cars. By the end of the day, we bought a brand new 1996 Trans Am in Midnight Sapphire Blue that faded to grey on the ground effects. It had every option. Needless to say, as a 16 year old who was really into fast cars, it seemed like the coolest thing ever. My dad was so awesome. He had no problem with me taking it if he didn’t need it. We had 4 other cars between the two of us so it wasn’t like he’d be stranded. We always thought that that model of TransAm handled so well for its time on dry pavement, it just had very little power. I cannot imagine what yours must be like. Thanks for a rehash of so many memories. I’ll be watching!
1:38 sec in and I went ahead and already gave this vid a like, I think that is now the fastest like so far by any vid haha. I absolutely love Pontiac’s (got that from my dad) so happy to see you working on it! Keep up the great vids.
I totally enjoyed watching this entire video! And especially the way you explained the process as you go, and how giddy you are at your successes. Like a teenager with his first car! Keep ‘em coming! And thanks again!

Hello from Bulgaria! Great videos! It was interesting to me, and we haven't seen many such engines and cars here either. The funniest was at 38:17 minute, I laughed a lot :) I watched the clip with beer and chocolates for an appetizer. Greetings from Bulgaria and keep up the good videos. I wait and watch every video!
I have vehicles I will never part with. It's like they become family, and you know what they say "Once you're in the Family" 🤣 Seriously loving the content bro, don't ever change ✌️
I have a supercharged '05 Mini JCW. Prior to that, an '08 Caliber SRT4. I've also had a '17 Fusion Sport (2.7EB), '18 F150 Powerstroke, '89 Colt GT that was 4G63 swapped and a few other forced induction cars.
I have a turbocharged Volvo S70 T5 with a manual box. Not much done to it at the moment but once it doesn’t need to be reliable anymore, you can bet I’m gonna throw some more boost at it :)
I used Vogtland springs to lower my 02 SS Camaro M6 with Koni 1LE front struts and single adjustable Koni yellows on the rear. I added an adjustable panhard bar as well. It didn't effect my 60' times at the strip like I had read lowering would do. I've managed a 12.96 on street tires with an other wise stock SLP 345HP package car. I've been 12.69 on drag radials. I need to replace my clutch so I can get it back out and cruise and race.
With the "wobble socket" trick, you can also use a rubber o-ring so you don't have to mess with the leftover adhesive of the electrical tape. Will that turbo handle sustained driving or is it purposefully designed for short bursts in drag racing? I would think the grease would break down with sustained driving.
You need to do a drag n drive with the trans am! Like rocky mountain race week or sick week. It would be fun for you guys to make content with. I think it's a great idea and would love to watch
Nice video Alex. But I've noticed a slight change of tone since Peter was "removed". I imagine U R going thru some hard times ma finalmente tutto andrà ben! Auguri! A proposito: Who is the gal getting out of your car on the driver side at 47:20 min? Wasn't definitely not the missus ;-)
This was a really decent video 👌 thoroughly enjoyed this. TransAms have always been close to the heart, even as an a Australian these have been my childhood favourite car 🇦🇺 The TransAm made in 2018 is ballistic!
Great, fun stuff as always. Learning a lot from watching your videos. Your passion and skill for fixing cars and all things mechanical is addictive. So glad I found your channel! Keep up the awesome work Alex, you are a natural!
Found your page today. Man I really like your style of commentary. It gives me a Bad Obsession Motorsport vibe but more conversational like we're hanging out, I'm less of a car guy than you but you're walking me through an afternoon wrenching on your car together. I don't have kids but it gives me some nostalgia feels for working with my dad as a child. Definitely won a follower here :)
I use 20W50 conventional in my 92 BMW 525i, since I'm in Arizona where it gets really hot. It also keeps the engine quiet and keeps my oil consumption down to *only* 1 quart every 500 miles. 329,000 miles on the original non-rebuilt engine so it's a bit tired. BMW actually specced 20W50 for a lot of their engines back in the 70's/80's/90's. Anything with an M10/M20/M30 engine calls for 20W50 with high Zinc content to keep the valvetrain happy. Same with air-cooled Porsches too. And yes, BMW ///M cars up until very recently called for 10W60.
This is one of the best LSC videos in a long time. When the battery truck pulled up to the gas station I dribbled a bunch of hot coffee down my face like an idiot trying not to bust up laughing. 😂
An LS swapped DeLorean would be such an awesome build to watch, fingers crossed you find one🤞 Was great to see the trans am get some love gave off some serious nostalgic vibes!!!
Hey dude why don't you run it for us? C. McFarland was at Bristol this weekend running his cars. That's like half-way point between you two guys. We would love to see a collaboration! You guys share 60% same audience; wouldn't you like to capitalize on the remaining 40%?
40:19 I did run more oil once than what the OEM recommended, and got a lot of issues. This was because the crankcase breather runs into the admission, which filled my entire admission with oil. I had to clean the admission tubes, clean the throttle body, relearn the throttle body position, and change the air filter. This was done after having a cranking but no start issue with the car for a month, and getting a new battery. I know Alex said that in good faith, and towards LS guys with a turbo. I am simply advising you all to learn your engine first!
Very inspirational, my 95 firebird is the LT1 6speed turbod also white and with the same rims even. Looks as though tech has caught up with us, the turbo oil system is one of the huge bummers about my car so I'll be watching this company's growth carefully
Get over it already man, it wasn’t his channel. It just added unnecessary banter that took away from what the channel was meant to be, sorta like what rich rebuilds turned into. Alex shouldn’t even address it, doesn’t owe anybody an explanation. Those that follow this channel can read between the lines, and just enjoy future content.
@Nick Chiccarelli Alex made a post saying he is no longer affiliated with Legit street cars channel and no longer on the premises or at his house. So basically 100% cut ties which seems odd. Friendships don't just end unless it was serious. I'd understand not having him on the channel but to completely cut him out of your life , I'd like to know why
I can’t speak to what happened between him and Alex but if you look up peters criminal history it might be telling. He was arrested in the past for contributing to the delinquency of minors(weed) and trespassing. He was also arrested for vehicle theft another time.
Love how you have been making these intros have that nostalgic feel like I’m about to watch an episode of trucks with Stacy David or an old episode of hot rod tv with Joe Elmore and Chuck Hanson really takes me back.

Another fun adventure with the LSC crew. Got my soap cannon this week too! Good to see the original LSC getting love still.
1:38 sec in and I went ahead and already gave this vid a like, I think that is now the fastest like so far by any vid haha. I absolutely love Pontiac’s (got that from my dad) so happy to see you working on it! Keep up the great vids.
Glad to see you working on your very 1st car, I can't wait to see all your plans for it,
I totally enjoyed watching this entire video! And especially the way you explained the process as you go, and how giddy you are at your successes. Like a teenager with his first car! Keep ‘em coming! And thanks again!
Great to see the White Beast back on the channel. As always, you make things look so easy. Even taking down the gearbox ! Shout out to Max for great editing !
nothing hits harder then watching legitstreetcars and eating, awsome vid man
Alex thanks for letting me know about this oiless turbo system. What a setup, that turbo is awesome.
Glad to hear you are turning the T/A into a handler like it should be. It is a great handling machine!
Its ok stock...
I love that trans am ! I’ve always wanted a 98-02 TA. You did a great job making this look easier than it really was lol.
I'm still waiting for my call back...
Sorry Sam. The TA needed me
Ha ha peters replacement isn’t happy with the lack of communication either 😂😂
@@sonnybarlowyt I noticed Peter has been absent this video and last one. Is he ok? Has he left?
Say, Alex...I guess it's sorry to hear about Peter but on with the show. I signed up @ Amsoil and saved a whopping amount on a complete oil change kit. I don't normally do stuff like this but it helps your channel and I saved so much I got a few bounces and even qualified for free shipping...Thanks, man I hope that you "get a piece of the action". Thanks, man, too bad you couldn't keep that Eclipse because I have one with the same mods on it and was following that series closely on how to get mine running. Again THANKS.
Thanks Jeff, appreciate the support!
Alex, The Trans Am is awesome in all aspects. I use to own a 2000 WS6 6 Speed back in the day fun car to have lots of fun with love the channel.
Looking forward to the T/A content. I have a 2002 WS6 that I want to modify for the street. Thanks for all the great content!
Love that you are going back to the OG legit street car! And Max killed it on the intro again 👍
Great video Alex . Appreciate your great attitude and Forward
Thinking. Best wishes to you and your family.
This Pontiac is one of my favorite cars!!! Thanks Alex for sharing another exciting video!!! 👍👍🙂
Alex great Job!!! Finally back to the T/A that is awesome! Keep up the great work!
More LS content! Greatest platform ever.
I just sold my 10gt500 w/840hp I built twice and loved, sold it got a22 GT PP1 Mischievous purple lowered tuned boost coming etc BUT I STILL FREEKING LOVE THE FBODYS ESPECIALLY THE 98-02 TA’s!!!! SOME OF THE FUNNEST HALF FAST GREAT DRIFTING CARS OUT THE BOX EVER!!!
Very slick set up.👍 That’s a beautiful car, I was a fan of these cars from day one when they were brand new.😎
They've grown on me big time. I was thinking Corvette again but I might look for a low mileage one..
I wish I had kept one of my trucks and one of my cars from my younger years. Congrats to you for holding on to this T/A
These Saturday videos make me feel like a kid again. Wake up in morning and turn on cartoons type of feeling.
I gotta wait till SUNDAY here in Australia! Hahahahaha,
Still one of my favorite cars Alex and it deserves the love you give it!
I had to laugh when YT inserted a Chevy EV Bolt commercial just before you did the big tire burn out! Lol 👍🔥
Love my Sunday morning LSC video (watching from Australia 🇦🇺) love the times when you post twice in a week, sorry 2 hear about Peter mate but hope you are all good. 🤙🏼
The body on the WS6 is timeless!
Easily my fav car out of your fleet! My best friend has a 93 TA which is a blast to drive.
I have vehicles I will never part with. It's like they become family, and you know what they say "Once you're in the Family" 🤣 Seriously loving the content bro, don't ever change ✌️
What turbocharged car/trucks do you drive?
Hopefully eventually my Silverado! Wouldn’t mind putting a whipple kit on it eventually but there’s some other things I gotta do first
2005 CDI Mercedes E320, 2014 F150 3.5 ecoboost, 2014 Mercedes CLS550 4.7Biturbo
20 Civic SI, 21 F150, 84 Regal T-Type.
Nothing beats that Stu tu tu sound
I love it!
Glad it worked out pretty easily. LSC is the only content I’ve ever watched that I don’t skip through the promos :)
Best way to start off a Saturday. Good job, Alex and Max
Thank you for adding bloopers at the end 😂
I love the TA reminds me of my z28 long ago miss that car everyday 😢. Oil problems mine did the same an crazy thing was a pcv valve sticking.
With the "wobble socket" trick, you can also use a rubber o-ring so you don't have to mess with the leftover adhesive of the electrical tape.
Will that turbo handle sustained driving or is it purposefully designed for short bursts in drag racing? I would think the grease would break down with sustained driving.
Hi Alex, your video was great, but your early videos are brilliant, watched so many now as you been quiet lately. But super work on the TA
You need to do a drag n drive with the trans am! Like rocky mountain race week or sick week. It would be fun for you guys to make content with. I think it's a great idea and would love to watch
I 2nd this 100%
So good when you have that much history with a car! Awesome work!👍 love from the U.K 🇬🇧
Love when a new video drops 🙏🏻
Thanks!
Perfect way to start off a saturday love the content cant wait for more
Thanks!!
had no idea no-oil-line turbo was a thing, that's rad. I have an 02 WS6 my self cheers
TransAms have always been close to the heart, even as an a Australian these have been my childhood favourite car 🇦🇺
The TransAm made in 2018 is ballistic!
Great, fun stuff as always. Learning a lot from watching your videos. Your passion and skill for fixing cars and all things mechanical is addictive. So glad I found your channel! Keep up the awesome work Alex, you are a natural!
Your energy on this video is so awesome you can tell your happy. That's really nice
It's always fun to see you work on the WS6. It's easy to see how much you love this car.
Alex Rips gloves as much as Bruce Banner does clothes (Hulk) 😂😂😂😂
An LS swapped DeLorean would be such an awesome build to watch, fingers crossed you find one🤞 Was great to see the trans am get some love gave off some serious nostalgic vibes!!!
Love this car!
"you guys know of a DeLorean' with a bad engine"
All of them? 🤣
Love the TA videos. It’s definitely my favorite car on the channel.
Wheres Peter at?
Love watching you breeze through pulling cars apart, it’s like you do it in your sleep. Great tech skills 👏
where's PETER???
Alex posted on the Community tab and also left comment in last video briefly explaining what happened.
Love the TA content!!! Can’t wait for more on this car!!!
Its not the same without Peter. The banter was on point.
Stop whining. You'll get over it. Geeze...
All Peter did was talk and goof off.
Very inspirational, my 95 firebird is the LT1 6speed turbod also white and with the same rims even. Looks as though tech has caught up with us, the turbo oil system is one of the huge bummers about my car so I'll be watching this company's growth carefully
Can we get the Peter story? It's crazy to think a friendship would end over something minor so it must have been serious.
Forget Peter.
What did I miss how do y’all know he’s gone for good?
Where has Peter been?!?! Bring back Peter!!!!
Read Alex's pinned comment at the top of the comments.
That new Comp oil less turbo is awesome, I need one! That’s awesome that you helped them out back in the day!
Where is Peter?
