    That's a very nice looking airplane. It's so amazing how different they are from the RC planes 35-40 years ago. Love the camera in the cockpit!

    I was going to get landscaping fabric for landing and taking off,you use refridgerator boxes,what a cheap great idea,thanks for that!

    So many variations of this plane. I got a different brand but plan on ordering the air brake and adding it to my model. Since the scale is the same with all of them. It wouldnt be a stretch to say one company produces the body for them all,just add different electronics and whatever and it becomes an FMS,or FreeSky,or Eleven Hobby. See my reasoning. Seriously,all the parts are easily interchangable. I used the FMS landing gear in my Dynam Corsiar,no issues at all. I always enjoy the swapability on these planes. Try that with a balsa plane.

    very nice video review...if you dont mind i still have a quetion or two about the plane...how does the gear work on grass, i noticed you started the Trojan from a hard surface...im asking because our field is a very bumpy one with not so short grass and the wheels look pretty smal to me...which brings me to question number two, does the prop have enough ground clearance for use on a rough grass field?

      Not great on grass. It has to be super smooth as this has scale wheels. We used a boarded runway and I usually land in longer grass if I can't get a smooth area/tarmac to come back onto..

      Buy a set of mains wheels. Put it on the nose strut. Using your Dremel cutting wheel, Very carefully, cut the excess foam in nose wheel compartment where that main tire tucks for a very good fit. Finish. You have nearly 1 us inch prop clearance or the metric equivalent. Save your props a bit. Blue skies guys!😎☝️

    Hi there, could anyone give me some advice please. I'm new to RC planes and was looking at this for my first plane. Is this too good for a first time plane and if so does anyone have any recommendations for something easier for a beginner?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360 7 лет назад +1

      +L HE44 defiantly not a first time plane. I’d look at a Bixler.. great all round trainer plane..

      Thanks you very much. I'm very new to the hobby and was just wondering if you had any recommendations on websites / forums or videos or clubs in the U.K. that may be helpful as a beginner? Really enjoyed your video by the way and I'm definitely going to buy one, just maybe not until I've found my feet with something more appropriate!

    The landing gear SHOULD be white, as with most military planes. However you could paint the suspension strut portion silver to add some realism.

    Can someone tell me a good recomendend throw expo

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360 7 лет назад

      +Mark Monahan it's a very personal thing, I start with 25% on elevator and aileron and 15% on rudder...

      Painless360 and as far as the control horns you have them on the last slot correct? Like the most throw possible

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360 7 лет назад

      +Mark Monahan not really, see the horns on the servo and control horns to give you the throws you need without changing the travel on the radio. Closest hole on servo and outside hole on control horns gives the smallest throw.. you'll end up with a little setup on the radio to fine tune.. This could be a useful video to cover this..

    • @mr.crankdat9878
      @mr.crankdat9878 7 лет назад

      Painless360 this is why I had so many problems on the first flight... okay so on all your control surfaces you the linkage on the lowest control horn (hole closest to the servo) and then on your radio it gives you more freedom with your throws and expo correct?

    • @mr.crankdat9878
      @mr.crankdat9878 7 лет назад

      Wait a second the control rod doesn't fit in the other holes... please advise the last one is the only one it can go in on the physical servo

    HOT WATER IS A BETTER CHOICE TO FIX FOAM

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360 6 лет назад +1

      It is if you can submerge the part. I’m planning a video on repair techniques as a lot of pilots don’t get to see the steps to bring a model back into flying form..

      You can also pour it over something, you NEVER run the risk of bubbling or burning. Made mistakes using a hair dryer and learned. Have you seen the new version?
