you should do all your budget overviews and recaps with ryen because it's so helpful to see someone's budget who is still paying off debt and to see how each of you might do things a little differently
I'm so glad I found your channel while I was paying off debt! Your budget by paycheck method was a GAME CHANGER for me. I loved using your workbook and watching your videos. I was able to dial in my budget so well these past few months that I cut my debt payoff plan in less than HALF! Yesterday I finished paying off almost $30k in credit cards and a car loan and am officially DEBT FREE except my house! You buying your house in cash has also inspired me to pay off my mortgage faster to experience that freedom too! Thanks for all you do!
First, it's so great to see you both back together again! I bet it was hard to work apart when you're such a dynamic duo. And, I really appreciate how Ryen so willingly shares her budget with us too. It gives such great perspective and inspires me all the time to stay disciplined!
Hey ladies! Feels like forever we haven't seen you together!! Congratulations, Ryen! Whoohoo!!! Hubby gets 4-5 paychecks per month and I get 2 or 3 paychecks per month. My budget recap covers the 1st - last day of the month. At first, we only set aside $1,250 for our rent, using multiple paychecks. For almost a year now, we have been rolling over $1,700 and now cover ALL our bills for the entire 1ST WEEK of the FOLLOWING month. Our savings rotation is $600; $250; $600; $250. I am about to tweak it so we save $2,000 instead, and have our car payment also set aside!!! THIS WAS A BUDGET GAME CHANGER FOR US!!!
Congratulations Ryen on finishing school!!!!! Thank you to both for going over your budgets. I think it's great that Ryen is paying off debt & saving money too!!!
I finally understood that I need to put my boat loan in it’s own category!!! I was putting it under rent bc I live on the boat. This small adjustment felt sooooo good in my mind and body and it occurred to me right at the end of this video when Ryen mentoned she switched insurance to its own catagory! ❤️❤️🥰🥰 yayyyy!! Also another amazing win for me was on the Savings monthly breakdown page- I finally understood that I can take the categories of my sinking funds and place them there!! I was writing in only my traditional savings accounts like 401k and my Roth. It was so boring and not motivating at all!!! Now I get to see my progress 😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩 So refreshing. Thank you for everything. I’ve been keeping up with this budget work for 5 months now!!!!
I totally enjoy these videos. I enjoy seeing Ryen and your budgets since you two are in two different phases of your financial journeys ;-). Please keep them coming!!
I don't know about other states but between prices going up on everything, not using cash envelopes , online shopping and swiping my debit card at the grocery store.... ugh!! Budgets have been busted but thankfully I have saved allot before everything closed up. Also, my car became undriveable due to a cracked frame (yay me!), however, I had enough saved to pay cash for a newer to me car AND sold my old car for $1,000. Happy about that part! My small business is now from home only and been super slammed busy and made MORE than the price paid from savings for my car. All in all.. I'm ahead again and back into full on saving mode. Thanks for ALL the tips, tricks and motivation!!
I really loved the alphabet based savings challenge where you pick a word for the month...i know you know what im talking about. So I do that when ever theres a cash enveloped challenge since I dont do cash enveloped. I only use cash for my groceries.
She sells them on her website. I don’t know if there are physical versions right now, but *I think* there is always a digital version. I have the digital and I love it because I can print out less or more of the pages I need.
We got our stimulus checks but we are keeping it in the bank. Everyone in my home us still working and I'm definitely still stimulating the economy. Lol
I prefer having a cash budget because I actually want to see how much cash I have to spend. If I did the cashless budget all motivation would go out the window it wouldn't work : )
Hey Miko, I had just started budgeting in Jan, but due to the pandemic I couldn't focus and stopped. I am now trying to budget again, can you please show all the process for creating the paycheck bill tracker again? I am no longer using cash and since I am not going out, do i still need to create all the budget categories? I'm more confused now! Thank you.
I am struggling with the cashless method also. I had just started TBM's method in February/March and I was getting the hang of it when the quarantine in Ohio hit, which was earlier than almost every other state. So its been trying different ways in April and this month to figure a cashless method out. I think for June I finally have it. Plus, I have gotten a lot better at rolling over cash into a Miscellaneous account. I pulled $5 out of the cash Miscellaneous yesterday for my husband and he said, "Where'd you get that?" I just smiled and walked away. I'll be cashless for the rest of my life I believe because I am in the vulnerable age/medical group. I hope I won't be cashless but I am preparing myself for that. Good luck to us all in these trying times and please be safe!
Hey Kumiko, is it possible for Ryen to show us how she added her stimulus check to her April budget and how she mapped it out in her BBP worksheets please.
I really really love this! Thank you for sharing all this content, I'm currently paying off my own debts as well and documenting my journey! Excited to see where things go
Ryan - have you thought about refinancing your student loan to get a lower rate? 11% seems extremely high! Maybe a video or blog post on the pros and cons of doing that?
Miko would you consider doing a "What's in my bag" video? I love using cash envelopes but the Filofax wallet is kind of big! I'm curious what you use to hold it.
I’m new here and trying to see if it worth me using the budget notebook and need to see how to use it. If it is hard then I may not use it. Is there a video showing from start to finish how to use this notebook? Would be no e to see how you apply numbers. I have been a cash budget mom for years and I use an app but it is not as complete as this notebook. I am unemployed right now but hooding to still do this with unemployment and money is super tight but after getting sick and all this COVID hitting people hard i still want to be on a good journey. Thank you.
Love this! thanks for sharing. Just getting started with your method and downloaded/printed your workbook. Super excited to get a hold on something that scares me, will challenge me, help me grow and reach my goals! By the way, can you please share the link for the wallet? Thanks so much :) Please keep sharing.
I haven’t gotten a stimulus check either but gladly still working. Those student loans are the devil though. Next month my lowest one will be paid, but still 3 left.
Love your videos! How do you manage to spend so little on food?? My house hold is two kids and two adults and we spend about $150-200 every week on groceries! Any tips? Thank you!
Anna A -meal plan - there are lots of you tube. You might even save money by doing 3 day / 4 people HELLO FRESH. You will have a least one leftover meal per the three days for lunches.
I did not go cashless. Just couldn't. I love all my saving challenges and I only went to the bank once each month. Congrats to those who could go cashless. :)
So are the savings challenges and sinking funds kept as cash or are they all in your bank account in 1 group and you just know how much you have in there for each category?
I have a question about the woorkbook... when I fill out the end pages am I using the balance of the debt at the beginning of the month or the end of the month?
My stimulus check was split between two savings accounts so I get highest interest earnings possible. I'm not going to spend it if I can avoid it since essentially its a "loan" against this year's taxes just like that $300 back during the George W. years. That way if I wind up owing, I can use that check to pay it off.
Miko - What do you do with the rest of your income? I'm assuming you make more than you "pay yourself" for living expenses, since you were above stimulus check income limits. Do you auto-deduct a large amount for retirement, like a 401K or some sort of investment plan for early retirement? I currently "pay myself" a small amount of my actual income, and put the rest to student loans, but not sure how to structure my savings once I'm done with debt.
I’m saving my stimulus to pay off my car loan. I can’t pay extra every month since it only gives me the option to pay in full. I also have a savings account for me niece which I put about $10 a paycheck. When she turns 18 I’ll have money to get her a used car. ☺️
Can I please ask your opinion on a high-yield online savings account? I am thinking either Ally or Capital One 360; I would love to know your thoughts? Thanks so much!
you should do all your budget overviews and recaps with ryen because it's so helpful to see someone's budget who is still paying off debt and to see how each of you might do things a little differently
I agree! So helpful seeing someone with debt but also seeing the savings side too.

I can't wait to see the new and improve Live Rich planner and Budget By Paycheck Workbooks. I really enjoy these videos with you and Ryen.
This is exactly what is needed! I watch every month and learn every month! Thanks Miko and Ryen ❤️🇨🇦
I love the side by side with Ryen. It helps to see how someone in a similar situation to me (debt and no any dependents)!
Congratulations Ryen on finishing school!!!!! Thank you to both for going over your budgets. I think it's great that Ryen is paying off debt & saving money too!!!
I usually cannot make it through an entire video, but seeing you guide someone else was really engaging and informative. I enjoyed this video

It’s hard to see the numbers. Would be excellent if you could zoom in on the individual budget page. :)
Greece opening boarders at July 👍 depends on situation in US the trip seems possible 😊 Most of Europe will open during next two months...
Thank you!!! We cancelled our trip for 2021. We may have to add it back in!
I don't know about other states but between prices going up on everything, not using cash envelopes , online shopping and swiping my debit card at the grocery store.... ugh!! I definitely need one of those budget books.
How do you get a budget notebooks

Yay! I’ve been impatiently waiting for this recap!
Oklahoma viewer here!! Hope this state is treating Ryen’s mom well!

I love getting to know Ryen and her financial goals better! :)
Hi Ryen. Welcome back.
I am struggling with the cashless method also. I love the vids with Ryen!!
When are your budget by Paycheck workbooks coming back in stock??? 🙌😍
I’m sure it’ll be okay to come here to Hawaii in November! Just be safe & healthy 😁👍
Hey Kumiko, is it possible for Ryen to show us how she added her stimulus check to her April budget and how she mapped it out in her BBP worksheets please.
Would love to see ryen debt worksheet
I really really love this! Thank you for sharing all this content, I'm currently paying off my own debts as well and documenting my journey! Excited to see where things go
Ryan - have you thought about refinancing your student loan to get a lower rate? 11% seems extremely high! Maybe a video or blog post on the pros and cons of doing that?
That’s definitely a good thought. I was thinking it was really high too. My student loan is only 3.5%.
When are you bringing your budget by paycheck workbooks back??? I NEED ONE
Congrats on graduating!
Pandemic is going to increase all utilities... its tough.
Miko would you consider doing a "What's in my bag" video? I love using cash envelopes but the Filofax wallet is kind of big! I'm curious what you use to hold it.
I believe she's also coming out with a wallet but not sure how big.
I’m new here and trying to see if it worth me using the budget notebook and need to see how to use it. If it is hard then I may not use it. I saved $2023.00 and paid off my car woohoo
I haven’t gotten a stimulus check either but gladly still working. Those student loans are the devil though. Next month my lowest one will be paid, but still 3 left.
Great overview
When can I pre-order for your budget booklet?
When will you be releasing the new planners so excited to get one!!!
Are you still having the budget workbook mom on October for this year coming
Trying to learn the budget program. I have debt to pay off, but not sure how I will be able to pay it off. I live paycheck to paycheck.
Ryen’s back! Love these videos with both of you. Where does your dad live in Germany? We lived there for 3 years - loved it and miss it!
Zanymom...I live in Mackenbach near Ramstein
Did Ryen get new highlighters 😂
Yes!😆😆😆😆
I was thinking the same thing lol... I didn't see the green 🤣🤣🤣
That’s funny it was the first thing I looked at in Ryen book her highlighters 😂
LOL I read this as "highlights" and I was like dang, I need my highlights updated. Lol *highlighters* got it.
The Budget Mom love it! X
How do you account for property taxes?
How do you figure out your percentage of your income from your food house etc.
I did not go cashless. Just couldn't. I love all my saving challenges and I only went to the bank once each month. Congrats to those who could go cashless. :)
we put our Stimulus in Savings and waiting on our State Tax bill.
Yay thank you!!!
When will your TBM workbook become available
So are the savings challenges and sinking funds kept as cash or are they all in your bank account in 1 group and you just know how much you have in there for each category?
I have a question about the woorkbook... when I fill out the end pages am I using the balance of the debt at the beginning of the month or the end of the month?
What are the budget books called on your website? I want to get one to have everything (Financial)in one place.
I believe she only has printable versions available.
shop.thebudgetmom.com/products/the-budget-by-paycheck-workbook?variant=28986036322409
we have still been working through all of this.....so we put our $3400 stimulus check on our credit card!!!!!
Is it still important to save money rather put all towards debt?
Note to self, look up what is a stimulus cheque? We don’t have these in the UK!
It's a cheque that they get from the government you are supposed to spend it to help the economy.x
It's an American response to the pandemic that's affecting their economy. We don't have one in New Zealand either
My stimulus check was split between two savings accounts so I get highest interest earnings possible. I'm not going to spend it if I can avoid it since essentially its a "loan" against this year's taxes just like that $300 back during the George W. years. That way if I wind up owing, I can use that check to pay it off.
When are the books coming back in stock
October for the budget workbook.
Random question. Where do you find that many highlighter colors? I can’t find more than 4-5
Check out Zebra Mildliners on Amazon. They have lots of colors.
Y’all are like twins! I love it!
Am I able to pre order the new planner?
Adriana Marroquin, I believe the date to order TBM budget book is October. You can go to website and order printable version. Happy budgeting.
No, the planner isn't going to have a pre-order because they're sending them out year-round as long as there is a demand. Same with the BBP I believe.
Preorder is open from the 25th May. It’s on the Instagram page.
Is the workbook still available to purchase?
Sylvia Corbin The undated printable is available year-round. The physical book will launch again in October. :)
I’m saving my stimulus to pay off my car loan. I can’t pay extra every month since it only gives me the option to pay in full. I also have a savings account for me niece which I put about $10 a paycheck. When she turns 18 I’ll have money to get her a used car. ☺️
Well you are making bank on these journals if you didn’t get a stimulus check
Have not got a stimulus check. Work for schools (cook)🤔😫
Can I please ask your opinion on a high-yield online savings account? I am thinking either Ally or Capital One 360; I would love to know your thoughts? Thanks so much!
I use Discover savings since they have a higher APY than CapOnd 360. Ally is always a great choice though.
@@jmgirard7 What's the APY at Discover vs Capital One?
Jennifer Girard -thanks!
Ryen, Ich hoffe du kannst deinen Vater bald in Deutschland besuchen.
Bleibt gesund
Danke Ju. Ich liebe meine tochter hier!
Try to not over talk or interrupt your guest.
Ryan’s needs to be easier to read. Please go back to cash envelopes. 😘🌻🌻🌻kay
