Story 3: whenever someone gets put into position of power, it's always a coin flip if that person will be as respectable as Franklin Roosevelt, or as insufferable as Napoleon
Best way to see if someone should be in a position of power, is to put them there and watch their actions without them knowing. I've seen too many "nice people" turn into complete tyrants when given a higher position, mostly being absoulute A-HOLES to the people under them, thinking they were now "nobles" who could "treat the serfs under them as they wished". And their might not be "evil" but being complete "it must be done BY THE BOOK, MY BOOK" is more incompetence than malice, if you can't be flexible, then you can't fix unforseen problems.
Petty Shop Supervisor F'ed around and FOUND out. Dude should have been fired Edit: Being encouraged to leave was too good for that Schmuck. He should have been walked out
Story 1: I hope OP got weekend pay from that, because if you're an employee that's exempt from working on weekends, but are called to do so in case of emergency, they need to get paid more then their contracted hours, that's just how expediting work
Never overpromise, ESPECIALLY on time, it's better to say you need a little longer than you actually do, better to have 2 extra than having to overwork. Also if you deliver way before time once, higher ups will think that this is now your new "normal time" and think you can do everything that fast.
You gotta love new management. They don't take the time to learn how things work. Then proceed to alienate the ones that make things work. Then they are clueless as to why things don't work any more. Often times it turns out they're not the sharpest tool in the shed.
I'll still never understand people who work at corporate job who will only come in on a Saturday. I would have been like well I'm sorry but that's outside my office hours and the project will be done by the due date. And if my boss says why I change the due date, I would have said unfortunately because you did not give me adequate time for the change due date, there is no way to change the due date. Unless you want me to devote less time to other projects and if you do please put that in writing so I can send them to the recipients of the projects of why they are going to get their work later. If I'm getting paid for a 9 to 5:00 job, I'm not coming in on a Saturday and if somehow you do manage me to get on a Saturday you will be paying me three times my normal hourly rate.
3. Story - if i would be the new manager of a team, i would ask my new employer for at least one month were i do nothing than watching, asking, and (if possible) working the jobs i have to manage. After the month i have at least an idea what i'm dealing with and can try to change things or let it go like it was before (depending on the reason why i was hired).
He was a rude little bitch to them the entire time he had to work on a Saturday. He didn't own up to it, he just didn't have the gumption to admit that in trying to screw them over to make himself look good at their expense he also screwed himself over.
Hey Rob, I tried to place an order from your shop and this is what I got. Something went wrong. What happened? This store isn't taking orders right now. What can I do? Return to the previous page. What can I do? I NEED the purple tiger.

Hi Rob!! Love the channel!!
That is a gorgeous cat!
OP works in IT. OP's idiot boss works in IT. How could OP's boss not know who the CIO is? Wouldn't the CIO be his boss or possibly his boss's boss?
