    • @dylanroot6401

      The reason why players get into scrums after hits, even if clean, is because you don't want the other team thinking they can just run all over you guys with no repercussions.
      The more players get hit, the more they get worn down and can risk injury. Sticking up for your teammate after a hit shows that you aren't going to be pushed around as easily.

    The hit on slavin may have been clean but it’s just a dirty thing to do. Slavin is one hell of a defenseman but he’s also one of the most pacifist players in the nhl like that’s hockey’s dad right there he doesn’t play dirty he just plays out of the love for the sport and he’s good at it! Breaks my heart to see him leveled like that and i can’t imagine how his daughter felt watching that.

      Watching Reeves on the Rangers for a season and change - expect him to have no impact whatsoever. He was great in the locker room, but he did absolutely nothing as players were slew footed, goalie ran every night, late hits, etc. He fought 2 or 3 times and it was always like a personal grudge, never because the team needed it or trying to turn the tide. He is not an enforcer by any definition of the word. Just a guy who can fight. That's why he was traded. He was just taking up a roster spot and not helping the cause.

    Remember when you could check someone and not have to fight afterwards? This is what really slows down the NHL and turns people away from it. How about hit one of their players, or score a goal as retaliation. Fighting isn't going to stop the player from checking someone else on the team, it just slows down the game big time.

    • @vl292
      @vl292 Год назад +2

      Good point. MVPs though have been protected by goons for a long time now. That first hit on kadri is a prime example. He literally run into the defenseman. It could not possibly have been cleaner hit, but you cant touch our little princess. Lame

    • @ltxero4303
      @ltxero4303 Год назад +2

    • @ltxero4303
      @ltxero4303 Год назад +5

      and if you think this you don't fully understand the dynamics of the sport. If fights happen less, injuries and nasty plays happen more. Fighting has always been more about keeping everybody in line when the refs cant more than anything else

    • @vl292
      @vl292 Год назад

      You could make that claim that it keeps it clean. However there are several pro hockey leagues where there are no fights and the game is clean with similar or lower injury rates. So i dont think there’s enough evidense to support that claim. Maybe even the opposite is true, think how many players have prematurely ended their career due to multiple injuries and how many goons have died due to issues related to bare knucke fighting. So if you weight in the pros and cons, I think there’s even less reasons to allow fights. Especially after clean hits, which is just silly and ladyboy-like.

    Im a football fan and I always wonder how hard they hit compared to football in hocky and if they have the same rules like helmet to helmet or head or neck area hits. Clearly they hit just as hard maybe even harder with the momentum they build with the skates

    • @nightlust
      @nightlust Год назад

      Mostly, and from what I've understood from compilation since I never read the rulebook, hits are to be upper body to upper body contact only (shoulder to shoulder, shoulder to torso...)
      But any hit to the head, legs can be extremely dangerous and cause concussions or just KO and they're illegal.
      I believe that hockey hits are harder than in football because of the speed players can reach but also the physique necessary is different between the two sports. But I'd have to read about it as well.

    0:54 - That's Boarding. Sorry, not sorry.
    3:03, Very late hit. Interference - Good on Dillon for making the hitter answer.
    4:59. Boarding. Not late, good contact, but the refs in recent years have been SO BAD about these impacts that send people in to the boards from that distance - people have been crippled with this hit.
    6:37, Holding the stick on Ottawa. Get fucked Sens.
    Man, refs suck these days, but the REST of these hits are great. Got some Ringers in our men's league here that play hockey in the league like they know they can't get hit like this for being THAT GUY. Dangle dangle dangle dangle, head down, no consequences. Wanna Tkachuk them so hard.
