edit on the Open Water review: it’s not written like ‘she went to the bar’ ‘she talked to him’ like I said, it’s written as ‘you went to the bar’ ‘you talked to him’. So it is written in second person, I just described it incorrectly! My apologies 🩷 I read a lot of books written in third person, not second person, which is why I found that perspective a bit more difficult to read 🫶🏼
girl, serpent, thorn is indeed a standalone and it was really good!!! i read it a few years ago and remember LOVING it!!! it's quite beautiful and the main character is super sweet even though she has such a poisonous touch. super soft girl energy 💗💗💗
Great video💖. I've currently almost finished rereading the first Throne of glass book and it's very interesting to see the thoughts that I have on it now.
Love Unwritten is also on my september tbr 😍 And I'm also doing the "read 5, buy 1" challenge to work on my physical tbr. So I have to read 5 books before I can buy a new book
@@zoniva9434 you def should!! It works really well for me and I'm so glad my tbr isn't that high anymore 😂 I also love this challenge bc a book buying ban doens't work with me so this way I can still buy a book now and then but also work on my physical tbr 😊
Glad you still did a TBR video for this month! I would love for you to add your unread Francine Rivers books to your cart (or add a sticky note to your cart as a reminder they are unread). I’m rereading the Mark of the Lion series and I would love to hear your thoughts since I know you got it in the past year.
The way you’re describing the writing style of Open Water is the exact writing style of Intermezzo by Sally Rooney. I’m reading it now and I’d say definitely skip that one if you know that style isn’t for you ❤ Edit; Intermezzo is third person, not second person. I just saw Rachel’s update.
I was just wondering what the Ted Dekker books on your cart were? I've started getting into his books because of the book of mortals series but I can't find a lot of them in Australia.
Actually second person is “you did this… you looked there… etc”. First person is “I did this…”. Third person is “she did this… or Katie did that”. Most books are either in third person or first person.
Second person is when the author is talking to “you” directly. The whole story would be written with “you” as the pronoun. What you described is third person narrative!

Second person is the absolute worst!
@@caylincarter7934first time I've ever heard of a book in 2nd person
can we just take a moment to appreciate that you have less that fifty books on your physical tbr? i swear every other booktuber i watch has 100+ lmao
Is the cart her entire physical TBR or just her seasonal TBR?
@@caitlinstone596 it is the entire tbr cart
The over consumerism with some of these people is shocking.
I'm glad you decided to fild a TBR jar video! These videos are my favorite!
I would really love a full magnolia parks spoiler reading vlog ❤
Happy Place is my fave Em Hen, too!! I hope you enjoy your re-read as well as everything else! :)

I absolutely love these videos. I get so excited each month to see that thumbnail with the TBR jar 😍
Good luck! The book one has been avoiding and rereading an old favourite definitely apply to the piles of unread books staring me in the face.
