BRAVISSIMI. BIGHIN GIULIO RENZO
Just beautiful i always thought the partnership between Alessandra and Massimo so intune with one another they are such a pleasure for the eye to see BRAVA!!!!!!
I have a DVD.. the entire ballet Deflatermouse (Chauve Souris) is exquisite, love Roland Petit choreography and this Intermezzo from 1001 Nights is one of my most favorite pieces of music
How I adore this music from 1001 Nights... I can listen to it forever and when combined with a ballet of Petit, it's heaven. It is so beautiful I am crying... even though I have it on DVD it still affect me this way each time...
My dear father... I miss you so much !!! You have us such beauty to look at... it was so poetic as you were !!!!! This pas de deux is so delicate and so subtile.... now you may dance with angels in the Arrms of God. Love you so much...,
@EmEnz1 &@ BytomGirl: This French ballet is not great as whole. This scene is THE highlight of ballet incl music . Gist plot: Hubby has chosen disguised wife from nightclub where he frequents to have meaningless affairs due to 7 yr itch. When he takes her to his secret man cave, notice prison bars on background. His deep bow to her at start shows his apology and Contrition to her- his wife. She accepts. They dance, falling in love with each other again. It was controversial at the time of it’s original grand opening bc wives were expected to be content with home life & mother hood, even with a cheating husband. Wives were not to go out, dressed sexually as if single , and esp not “cut his wings off” = stopping cheating hubby. The choreographer explains everything in the bonus features on DVD.
Il fallait un peu plus de douceur, mais c'est charmant. Un pò più de dolcezza sarabbe buono, ma fú bello. Un poquito más de suavidad sería más encantador, pero fue lindo.
I am a HUGE fan of Ms. Ferri's, but am unfamiliar with Mr. Murru, although their connection here is wonderful!...but I find the set and her costume along with the choreography miss-matched, to say the least. The music is grand and sweeping, yet the steps somewhat stilted and posed. Her leotard certainly shows off her glorious figure, but a light and airy skirt (or the like) I feel would have greatly enhanced the rapture and flow of the music. My opinion.
Airy skirt doesn't belong here, you obviously don't know this ballet or it's libretto.. this makes perfect sense once you see the whole ballet. There are no airy skirts in it at all..
Re no skirt on Ferri in this vital Pas de - highlight of ballet. Per choreographer in 1980s DVD: He modernizes costumes etc to 1910s France but wants to show current 1980s changing modern woman sex power. Both leads were chosen for their youth . Ferri’s No skirt increases ability for gymnastic catlike sensual choreography. This scene shows “bored seeking affairs husband” falling in love with his wife again, & wife choosing to forgive him bc he shows rededication to their marriage incl kids, & both renew vows by the end. In 1980s women aerobics swept western nations - see “Physical,” on AppleTV. Ferri’s seductive pure white contrasting silky full leotard- like costume reflects 1980s changes in women’s growing sexual freedom . Audience gave standing ovation at end of live filming of this ballet’s premier.

Greatest Ballerina of ALL TIME, in my opinion. ...WOW!... thanks for sharing this.

Eccezionali entrambi ...
Due grandissimi ballerini, seri ed umili, devoti all'arte e non al protagonismo
Very Beautiful!🎉

That's when technique meets artistry and movement emanates from pure emotions. And that's true dance!

Does anyone knows the name of the musical piece?
I hear some music from 1001 Nights and from Die Fledermaus
