Love hearing about all these scripts that we could have had, but also frustrated that we'll never get them. Like the fact that Jill was meant to be in Scream 5, that would have been amazing.
@@bigtea5470 in the original script the movie would end in a cliffhanger, when dewey and the police arrive at kirby’s house jill is proclaimed the lone survivor while we the audience don’t know if sidney is dead or not
I really like the idea that Gale is taking the directing position to remove Sidney's character so the veiwers don't feel the need to continue attacking her.
I haven’t seen people attacking Neve, just the creators. Which… I feel like they deserve tbh. They took a franchise that millions love & they screwed with it. You don’t get to do that without backlash from those millions ya know?
Love hearing these alternative stories/endings to the Scream franchise. Even though Scream 3 doesn’t hold up to many of its other films in the franchise, it’s nostalgic for me & i’ve always been relatively positive about it
Scream 3 is probably the worst and it still isn't bad. It's mostly fun. Sucks it got censored pretty heavy though. But most horror franchises have like 1 or 2 bad movies out of 6. Like terrible movies. But scream has been super good with 3 being the weakest and still good
I would love to see a "Scream" film that uses the original script of the third film but not with a high school. Maybe like with a community center or maybe like a theater or something similar to drama. But not a direct clone of "Scream 2"
I think it would be cool if the Meeks twins in Scream 5’s Dad is Joel from Scream 2, him and Randy’s sister maybe met at Randy’s funeral and made a connection, would love to see him again at some point (haven’t seen 6 yet don’t spoil 4 meeeee)
I haven’t seen it yet either. I’m going to now though since now it’s finally available to watch at home. However, while I was on RUclips, a clip from Scream 6 appeared in my recommendation and it showed the killer’s face in the thumbnail. I quickly scrolled so I wouldn’t see it, but I still saw the person’s face unfortunately. I wish they didn’t show the killer’s face in the thumbnail. They did the same thing for Scream 5 which showing Amber in the thumbnail holding a gun smiling and it just appeared in my recommendation one day. I was so mad that I was accidentally spoiled on who the killers are. While I saw one person’s face as the killer for Scream 6, I don’t know if there is a second killer or not. So I need to be careful in not getting spoiled anymore at this point. I’m doing my Scream-a-thon right now. I’m sure that Scream 6 is a hit since they’re already planning a seventh film. Hopefully I won’t get spoiled again when that comes out. By then, I need to see it in theaters.
I actually downloaded and thoroughly read this draft of the original Scream 3 script off of a movie script site back in the day, so this is really cool to hear you talk about it!
Crazy part is, Sid's Dad actually does appear in Scream 3😮. Would've been cool if they somehow wrote him into the Maureen/Roman/Sidney story. Like maybe he actually knew about "Roman". Was Roman Milton's son? I was always confused like did Milton rape Maureen when she was *RENA REYNOLDS*? Like i don't understand how Neil literally just doesn't know anything about his wife yet the whole town basically knew about her affairs with Cotton & Mr. Loomis. That just automatically makes me suspicious of Neil Prescott. Except for 3. He was always conveniently on "business trips" out of town or out of the country. He appears in 3 but its very brief and looks like the same actor from the original.
Jennifer, for as annoying as she originally was, grew on me and has become #1 on my “should’ve survived” list. She’s the main reason why I love Scr3am.
I’m not sure I like a kidnapping ghostface but because it’s her dad I could go along with it I just think his motive being “she didn’t give me money” is really lame I think her exploiting his wife’s murder and his daughter’s attempted murders is really enough motive without the weird “I gotta pay for your college” bit
I have to admit when I heard the words Neil Prescott and killer, I thought nah that would never work. But then I heard the motive and I actually thought it was a lot better than Roman's.
Definitely the one we got. Think about everything sid had lost up until this point. Having her dad end up not only kidnapping her, but being the killer, and then having to kill him?? Too much man. Would have been way too left field and not in line. Although, I love the idea if Gale directing Stab. That tracks. Go pack go!
Definitely like the movie version with Roman as the killer and Sidney’s brother better than the script with Sidney father and the whole not getting his money or “just due” from Gale; just listening to this script is much worse than scream 3(which is my least favorite of the franchise) but has grown on me through the years
Agree, her dad being the killer is just..... wrong. Besides they seemed to be doing just fine by the looks of their home in Scream 1 and her place in Scream 3.
Holy shit m8 what a gnarly story! I remember being absolutely floored by Scream 3's originally ending and it still holds up...even if other elements of the movie don't...BUTT...I absolutely would have loved to see this ending!
Didn't hate what I heard from this, but I sorta like the "meta" look at making a scary movie/slasher, especially the conversation that happens in the beginning when we go into the soundstage and the producers are talking about Cotton's death. You can't beat the Detective's line/delivery, "He was making a movie called 'Stab'...he was stabbed".
I don't understand the hate for Scream 3. The ending with the reveal of Roman is fantastic. The fact that he's been involved since the beginning is an awesome connection to the past. The motive makes perfect sense. I wouldn't change it at all.
I've learned to love it but man I hated it for a while and still see the issues. It's just kind of pedestrian and corny until the end scene and the meta-actors were too much for me.
The original Scream 2 script with the 4 killers was awesome. Whatever Scream 3 would've been after that IF the studio wouldn't compromise the Stu concept AND Neve had significant screen time like the 1st 2 films, that would be been a great film.
the idea going back to stu's house sounds awesome but i perfer roman as the man behide it all, when he tells Sidney everything as ghostface voice always gives me chills. if they went this route i think scream 5 would had to do something different with going back to stu house so im glad it didnt happen for scream 3
Sounds good. Stab 2 being the movie within the movie, Scott Foley playing Derek, awesome. I don't mind Neil Prescott being the killer but I do mind Sidney killing him. If they had him survive and go to prison I could live with that. At this point the two alternate versions of Scream 3 would have been superior to the weird Scream 3 we got. Fucking Weinsteins.
Never heard about that version of the script. Some interesting stuff there even though I feel like a combination of the ending we got and the revelation of Stu being the person responsible for the copycats would have been a much more satisfying ending. If you look at the ending that we got there are parallels in the Stu scripts in terms of there being a mastermind behind the entire events that transpired, even though Roman's role was more to the extent of the original's events and not both sequels. Great video!!!
So... was Kincaid in on it? Did Neil Prescott use Kincaid to commit the murders and stay off the police radar and then turn on him later? Or was Kincaid totally innocent and Neil Prescott just put the costume on him to set him up to take the blame? Why would Neil lure them back to Stu's house? What did Stu's house have to do with anything at that point? What's the tie back? Was the Macher family still living there? A new family? Was it empty? Like, I don't hate it but it seems kind of muddled. I thought Maureens backstory in Hollywood was intriguing and Roman's motive was better in the movie we got, though it would have been even better if Roman and Sidney had atleast one interaction before the final reveal.
I believe the macher house had been abandoned since the killings it said. I'm guessing he lured them there bc of their history there plus it's a giant abandoned house to do crime in haha
That would have been such a cool version to see play out! I think Gale being the director and Neils motive for killing her are very believable minus the money aspect. I think just being pissed that someone profited off your life story is motive enough for this story. I'm curious though, was there any motive given for why Kincaid was meant to be a killer?! I feel like they were really trying to sell the angle that he was one of the killers in the scream 3 we got!
I would’ve rather seen this. I like the idea of Gale being the focus but nobody realizes it until the end, and the idea of Sidney having to finish off her father would’ve just added a whole new layer of fucked up to her story. Also, while it’s got a lot of homages to the original, the way you’re describing makes it feel different from the typical Scream formula. I like that.
S7 should conclude in woodsboro. Caseys house n parents, Sids house woodsboro high all revisted with stu n soneone else being revealed as the killers, drawing Sidney back
This was a interesting take of scream 3 with Sydney dad being the killer and taking back to stu houes is really cool and something I didn't think would happen and also with gale being the director makes sense to kill off Sydney would mean kill of the killings or the obsessive people who want to kill Sydney also I'm surprised they didn't decide to have the 2 killer here instead of the detective be Roman and Sydney dad be killing like father and son.
I really enjoyed scream 3, I know I was in the minority but I thought it was a good plot especially with roman being sidney's brother and directing it all.
Neil motives R cool. Agree with you about the lack of money stuff is the thing I don’t like that much, but he and Roman working together unaware that Roman orchestrated the killing of Maureen I guess would be dope and the rumors of Angelina being also the killer cause she wanted to be Sidney is cool too. So in my version of 3 I would have had 3 killers

You're right, the motive is weak sauce. It could've been that he hated Gale's guts because not only did she defend the man who was having an with his wife but also because Gale was making a living off of Sidney's pain. Now that she's directed Stab 2, he finally snaps and decides to dress up as Ghostface and kills her. Maybe they could use this in a future Scream movie? Maybe they could use this for Scream 7. Only with Sam and Tara's mom as the killer. That would be cool 👍.

But that would take the focus off the new girls, and why would she wait 30 years to come.after Sidney. Maybe the mom could be there but as a target. Possibly the astranged dad could come in wanting the mom and Sam to pay for putting his (biological) daughter in jeopardy. Don't know what they do for 7 (and beyond) I do want Sid and Gale back, maybe Dewy in flashbacks or dreams of Gale in deleting a new Ghostface. More Kirby would also be welcome.

It's really cool to hear about the different variations of the movie they were gonna go in . A lot of times its better then the direction they ended up going with !
