The contestant picking Ray up like a little kid is "Big Rob" of the Flory family. Episode aired circa July 23, 1988.

WWL-TV Channel 4 for this native New Orleanian GS buff. And you notice that it's a full 90-minute trifecta of Mark Goodson games on CBS, _all_ revivals ( _Family Feud, Card Sharks_ and _The Price Is Right_ ).

There really isn't a network daytime schedule to speak of.

That was strange for even then for Jeopardy not to be packaged with Wheel Of Fortune in syndication on most network affiliate stations.

On WJBK-TV(Detroit's then-CBS affiliate),I don't believe they ever aired the daytime version of Family Feud, but I do recall them airing the syndicated version for the first 2 seasons.

In my area in 1988, the line up for KCCI-TV 8 was:
    9:00 am Family Feud
    9:30 am Jeopardy!
10:00 am The Price is Right
Kinda sucked that they didn't have Card Sharks back then in my area, but oh well!
    Thanks for the upload!

I remember KCCI-TV (Ames/Des Moines CBS affiliate) aired Card Sharks at 8:30 am between 1987-1988 after Richard Simmons Slim Cooking cause I have a few TV Guides from those years, so yeah I do remember it.

I heard that Ray Combs was dealing with problems he had after he was let go from Family Feud, his night club had closed down, I know that. Ray's final Family Feud, he left the stage leaving the Tran family alone, I could tell he was upset about being let go from the Feud. I remember Family Challenge, that game show he did, before he committed suicide. So, I agree with your statement there.

    WCBS-TV 2 NYC
I remember in the early 90's
    10:00- Family Feud
    10:30- Wheel of Fortune
    11:00- Price is Right
Later on Family Feud moved to a full hour 10-11 am then TPIR.

I liked Ray Combs as host of "Family Feud", but I wish that Richard Dawson could have been named host again in 1988. If only Dawson and Mark Goodson didn't have their own feud, perhaps it would have happened instead Dawson returned in 1994. Maybe they should have had Dawson do the CBS daytime version, and Combs could have done the syndicated version. Ray became bland around 1993.
Bob Eubanks was excellent on "Card Sharks" he was a bit more energetic than Jim Perry who was great as well.

Network Daytime TV has DEFINITELY gone downhill during the last quarter-century.

Bob Eubanks' personality is too loose and humorous for a serious game show.

CBS Daytime was AWESOME back in the 80's, but if you ask me, Family Feud belongs to Richard Dawson, Card Sharks belongs to Jim Perry and as for The Price is Right, Janice Pennington, Holly Halstrom, Kathleen Bradley, Chantel Dubay and Nikki Ziering will always be THE Stars of TPIR
Ray Combs started off good, but then, he got too bland, Bob Eubanks was great on The Newlywed Game, but CS wasn't his cup of tea and Bob Barker is too egotistical
which is why I prefer Dennis James & Tom Kennedy
