    Most of his goals were at key points in tight games. If he stays healthy he should be a lock for 50-60 points

    Now if he can learn how to win face-offs and bulk up…and maybe heal from that wrist injury, we MIGHT look at another getzlaf if he develops properly

      Well just think. If Newhook turns out then he can move to the wing. Then all there is to do is bulk up a bit which he can do. I mean, with St. Louis as his coach who is one of the most jacked players in recent history, bulking up shouldn’t be a problem.

    Even after the injury, he’s in the 55-60 points and 20-24 goal range. I don’t think a lot of people understand and appreciate what we have going into this year on the second line. The crazy thing is, he’s only going to spend one season there as Demidov will be here the following year. Roy will be on that line and I think he puts up 40-50 points this year. He’s been full bore busting ass since the summer started. I was a kid in the 70’s, I’ve seen some god teams, I’ve seen the pipeline with hopefuls, but I’ve never seen it like this. This is legit a state bursting with NHL players. Most of the players are 3rd and 4th line, but every team has a need for players like that. After this draft, this is the most talent I’ve ever seen with the Canadiens on the team and in the system combined. Goal, defense, forwards, this is going to be a really tough team to handle in a few years. They officially jumped into promising for playoffs, but no guarantee. This team will not be picking 5 next year, they may have the 10th or 12th best pick, and Calgarys may even be better for them. This is a season of big steps coming up and Laval will be a great place to be when they play at home. Montreal has been obscured for the last few years, since the final, and it shouldn’t concern anyone, this team is going to be one of the best we’ve had since the 70’s, and the run will be for a long time.

    • @carycwilliams
      @carycwilliams 22 дня назад

      @@alexschannel8636 Yup, allows Demidov to come in and settle into the 3rd pairing, Roy will be paired their this year. This is going to be a really strong team in 2 years, I think they make the playoffs now. I think I'm more stunned that it took so little to get him, but they did retain salary, that's the second round pick they got back. I believe there are enough assets there now that we will see one of either Anderson or Gallagher, or both go at some point this season now. I think they are 4-5 years away from winning. I think the group as a whole; Suzuki and Caufield have been right there, Newhook is a winner, I think they have the fire to get there quicker, I think they win with this group, minus and plus a few players, I just think that we are going to see some surprises this year. I think Dobes pushes and shows that he is right there, and one of the two goaltenders ends his tenure in Montreal and I don't think it's the English guy

    • @carycwilliams
      @carycwilliams 22 дня назад

      @@alexschannel8636 I'll add to it, I think all 3 on the second pairing; Newhook-Dach-Laine, are all very close, if not, a point per game line. Players to watch, Thorpe, Xhekaj and Tuch. I think those 3 right there are your grit and difference makers, the heavy minute players, that win you championships. I think Hage, Beck, Kapanen and on the outside, Kidney, are 3 centermen that will start to show what they will be for Montreal, in the bottom 9, yes, bottom 9. There will be that little a discrepancy between lines 2-4. Instead of looking at their prospect pool in the past and seeing a bunch of 3rd and 4th line potential, there is a lot of 2nd line potential, even if they are playing on the 3rd line, in these prospects.

    2:07 this is so funny to me, Caufield is 5’7 and Myres is 6’8 and Caufield hit him off the puck. obviously it’s not giant hit and he falls over because he put so much into it but he gets just enough to get the puck off his stick.

    They don’t even have Krejci or Bergeron signed yet. So that 6.9 mil is needed for a center if they can’t get both of them back. It would be silly for them to waste the cap on a winger, imo.. They’d have to trade someone else to make room. They still need to get Swayman and Frederic re-signed as well. ^ I think they moved an asset in Taylor Hall that had some value and let go of the extra players they signed at the deadline to keep the core in tact. Hall was making too much for a 3rd line player anyway. Same goes for Coyle, but it’s doubtful they can move him without giving up a 1st or Lysell at the same time.
