This is a recording of the Tom Joyner show( which was/is syndicated nationally) where he and his staff laugh about and mock Bethany Hamilton a day or so after the shark attack. Even Stern wouldnt stoop so low as to attack a victim of a horrible attack like this who was a minor! After this broadcast there was quite an uproar going in the surf community with Joyner but to this day Joyner nor the corporation that syndicates his show have ever apologized for his actions. This really stuck in my craw and now with Soul Surfer out and all the media attention its a perfect chance for all of Bethanys fans to get her that loooong overdue apology! Its never too late! Contact Joyner here and tell him he needs to apologize to Bethany and her family, even though I'm sure they could care less about this jerk.

let me set you straight. this is NOT Tom Joyner attacking Bethany Hamilton (in fact there is no attacking anywhere in this broadcast). the ignorant person who posted this should've made this an honest post. The person singing is J Anthony Brown- a COMEDIAN hired to make jokes about the news- similar to Artie Lange on Stern. Since the 60's- black and white comdians have used race as a basis for jokes due to overwhelming difference in blacks/whites/latinos etc. its true to its intended audience
I don't know who Tom Joyner is, and I have never heard of him. I just clicked on this by mistake because I just finished watching Soul Surfer. This man is beyond what words I would like to use, but I have more class than he does. Just one word at the moment is coming to to mind, and that is "Karma" Bethany Hamilton, you are a beautiful person inside and out and you're an awesome inspiration. Much love from L.A.
and if you've ever been part of a team- u know that u do not throw a person under the bus on air/in public. if you've ever listen to Joyner they are a VERY expressive crew. in this segment they are WAY more reserved than usual which says something to the people who know the show, Do your homework before displaying ignorance
I feel like just making a racist song about him ATTACKING a person who just LOST AN ARM to a shark, but that would mean I would've sunken lower to his level.....

he obviously did this as a joke as tasteless as it is. i don't think he meant any harm, but it still made me sick to hear him essentially taking the tragic injury of a young girl (regardless of her race) and making fun of it. my only hope is that someone else on the show said something to him about his appropriateness or lacktherof.
These People are just drunk.... can't believe what they're joking about. but one day, they'll regret it for sure.
Hey please help me spread the video around and make sure and use the email link and ask him to apologize, try to be somewhat polite about it. If nothing else Id like him and more importantly his sponsors know how unacceptable his actions were by having to handle hundreds/thousands of emails or phone calls. Bethany wasnt a celebrity then, just a regular ol kid, theres no excuse for it..

This is absolutely the most insensitive thing I have ever heard. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I would say that you owe this young lady an apology, but she has proven time and time again that she can rise above the worst that this world has to offer and that includes the likes of you!
What ever you need to feel better about racism you go with it, but know it will NOT change the FACT this Black comedian in his heart is what he is, and going thru a power talk will NEVER change his heart! You need to learn a lot more about life and living before making statement to cover up this kind of HATE talk!

this discust me. bethany is one of the best people in the world. she is also one of the best female sufers in the world and thats a fact. this is one of the bravest girls you will ever meet in your life. bethany should meet this man. shes probably taller than him anyways considering that shes 5"11

@rippy40 Find me the show where stern or Limbutt has a special skit performed to denigrate a minor injured or killed in some form of attack where the skits motivation is racial animosity and Ill post it. When the 12 year old Black girl was gunned down by the 5th ave crew I dont remember any skits about not crossing the road and the Mexicans wont kill you.
