The thing about that is the colleges and universities that they bribed, have been saying for centuries that only these select few people that we accept are good enough. By perpetuating that lie, The schools are just as guilty, if not more so than the parents that did this.
Every parent who participated in that is basically saying "my children are too dumb, I don't believe in them & they'll never get into college by themselves"... if I were one of these children that mindset in itself would make me want nothing to do with my parents, not only for that but for the public humiliation that they didn't even think about.
No it’s not. She was told her daughter wasn’t getting into college, so she wrote a check to make it happen. Just because you would get your soft feelings hurt and think your mom is calling you dumb, doesn’t mean everyone else is weak and feels the same. I wish I had a rich mom who could’ve paid to get me into a better school.
It’s sad that people have to step on other people to get ahead instead of helping people out who are less fortunate who can only get an education through scholarship
Her kid was already set for life with mommy and daddys money, she just wanted more than she deserved. I can only imagine how many privileged parents get away with this type of thing who HAVN'T been caught.

She fell for the lies that your kids are failures if they can't get into a highly reputable college. This is what happens when you live in a bubble and listen to those around you.
How bout an apology to her daughter for not believing in her own scholastic abilities, and accepting wherever they may lead her. Also comparing her FBI arrest to that of the “black and brown” community…..she needs to reevaluate her actual white privileged self
Unlike Lori Loughlin (aka Aunt Becky from Full House), Felicity didn’t try denying her guilt or acting above it all. She was also one of the first parents to plead guilty and didn’t try to fight the charges. None of that excuses what she did but she made a mistake, she’s owned up to it and is making amends. Personally, I think she’s a very talented actress (she was easily the best one on Desperate Housewives) and I look forward to watching her future projects. 👍🏻
This is the definition of entitlement. You have mothers out there who can’t afford things for their children but they don’t break the law to prove them. I don’t believe pushing the blame shows she hasn’t taken accountability or learned any lessons.
I don't think she pushed the blame. She said how she got there. Even when you are accountable for your mistakes, the road that leads you there is a path you can't help but travel on over and over again.
I am watching Desperate Housewives, because i love these women's characters. One of her episodes, she tells her grown up twin something like....There is something that happens to mothers, we don't know how much we're going to love our children, and we would do anything to protect our children. We will stop caring about ourselves.... I sympathize with thay statement. I am a mother of 5 children, military lifestyle. And I can tell you with total transparency...that she was right. Mother's feel a fear at times that doesn't let us think clearly...when it comes to protecting our child. Weather it is stealing food to feed them, or doing whatever we have to do to make their lives better, and make them happy. Mothers see our adult children....as that baby we held, as that baby we gave birth to. That moment when we give birth, is the most traumatic...yet...joyful moment in our lives. We will always see our adult kids as babies. And we want to nurture them and protect them and give them everything. Even when we shouldn't. Good mothers do this, and good mothers make mistakes. There is not a single mother who hasn't made a mistake. Hustling is a mothers world. We have to do what we have to do. She is an amazing mother, and an amazing actor. I cannot wait to see what she does next in the acting world.
It wasn’t really for their daughter, it was for themselves. If they didn’t get into a prestigious school they felt it was a failure on their behalf. That others would think less of them in their fucked up circle.
Say what you want about her, but unlike others involved in this, she readily admitted what she did, took her lumps, and did her time. Yes, what she did weas stupid but she paid the price.
She’s an utter disgrace? Did she kill someone? She did something wrong but you and other people are doing the absolute most. Y’all act like people haven’t been cheating in some capacity since the beginning of time
Even if the children of the people who took part in this scandal could only get into community colleges and state universities, what is wrong with that? What is so repulsive about non-Ivy League schools?
What stood out for me “your daughter won’t get into colleges that she WANTS to”. Tough shit. Welcome to the real world. An education is an education. She was already set for life with famous parents. SHE wanted her kids in better schools and they weren’t adequate for them. I lost all respect for her
What I don’t get is the follow up plan. There’s a reason they couldn’t get in on their own. Start them where they can successfully hold their own. It’s like lying into a job you aren’t skilled to do. Once you are in: how will you perform?!
But if you keep paying your tuition every semester and for every single class you take, even if you have to re take it because you only get D's, you can stay, I think! I'm not sure though!
Once you get in, you either learn as you go or you fake it til you make it. People literally lie on resumes and job apps everyday. Im pretty sure they lie on college apps too.
Everyone here is ripping Felicity apart for basically being a good mother, wanting only the best for her child and sacrificing everything for her children. She is an amazing mother who wanted to provide her children the very best and for that she has my respect.

Poor rich lady, it must have been so hard to own up to what you did publicly. I am so sorry that happened to your family! I am sure people pray for you just not me
It's a cutthroat world and most parents who could would certainly give their kid a boost if they could and if they felt there was just this one sketch thing they could do to give their kid an opportunity to excel. Getting into college isn't always easy these days, but once in, it's up to the student to do well and sink or swim. Certainly it was wrong, but I do understand the fear of a mother and willingness to help if they can. She paid her dues and is a good person. I'm glad she came out of it a better person and continues to help others, in the right way, get a better foothold on life. Life today is hard. You do what you can.
I still like her. The world is unfair. Anyone would do what they can for their children to give them a chance. She shouldn't have done it but she's learnt the lesson hopefully
This is like a Desperate Housewives episode😂. I think people are quick to judge but we should not do so, she served her time and hopefully she learned.
Her family has so much money, what kind of "extra chance" could the children really need? As if they were to become scientists that would change the world? Just a diploma for the sake of a diploma to brag about, while poor and deserving working class family kids would have to pay the price. So disgusting, how privileged, how entitled!! And, of course, she did not think she would go to jail. Committing a crime is no big deal when you are rich and famous, right?
So your child needs we’re far more important than other children who earned the right to go To college some people earn it through good grades and sports
