Appreciate your opinion. I'm picking up the quibit damascus and just backed the CJRB kickstarter campaign. Not a knife collector either, but these were too difficult to shy away from.
I got both and it’s close , the pyrite is a special knife and it has a solid bl and good snappy flicking action but the black civivi qubit has stole my ❤️ along with the black fg, silver black sentinel strike and tan sokoke this year. The qubit feels better, lighter , just a little better slicer . It’s such a close call but the aluminum handles and the 14c with a civiv hest treat takes the cake .
Is 14c28N really a better knife Steel? Better toughness for sure but edge retention is the trade off. AR-RPM9 is a great steel too. Powdered at a budget price point as well.
I think the pyrite is the better gift knife as the better all-arounder, but the Qubit is the keeper for someone with multiple EDCs. With the Qubit you get a blade geometry that a lot of production makers are hesitant to do.
Where did you find a pyrite with a black stonewashed blade? I love both of them and I couldn’t say which one I like better. They are both very good budget knives. Good review!
The black drop point blade with the engraved steel handles is a KnifeCenter exclusive. www.knifecenter.com/item/CJBJ1925WA/cjrb-cutlery-pyrite-folding-knife-ar-rpm9-black-drop-point-blade-wave-engraved-steel-handles-knifecenter-exclusive

I have both and the Qubit is my choice for EDC. ...this review was spot on between the differences.
Thanks for the side by side. Leaning towards the pyrite
love the video brother im about to buy CJRB pyrite very soon lol
I have both and they are amazing knives
The altus has the same exact snappy action . Another great civivi blade that gets super slicey laid back

I was thinking the qubit is a better gift knife since it uses a better steel, which should also hold an edge better and has a built in bottle opener.
