Great tutorial!
Howdy from Senoia. Thanks for the vid. Your vids and Iggy’s at FalTac are very informative. Hope to bend some soon.
What type of leather and what thickness did you use?
8-9oz Cowhide - We have it in multiple colors and sizes ( www.holstersmith.com/vcom/mountings-leather-backers-c-547_1027.html ). Let us know if you need more info.
Can you put the struts on the leather side for iwb carry?
Do you mean "OWB"? It's already setup for IWB carry. In fact, the struts in the kit are tuckable, too. If you're talking about putting them on the backside of the leather and turning it into an OWB carry rig, I wouldn't suggest it. Part of the reason that the hybrid works so well is that your body is pushing the backside of the leather against the frame of the gun to create the needed retention. These style struts are mounted only on one end. That works great for IWB, but tends to create trouble on OWB rigs because of pull-away. There are other mountings that would work much better for setting it up for OWB carry. Anything with multiple mounting positions would stabilize the draw. As one example, we have a lot of customers who like using these. www.holstersmith.com/vcom/mountings-molle-compatible-locks-c-547_414.html

What kind of pencil is that? Thanks for the video.
Looks like a soapstone marker
That is what I thought. Thanks
Where buy the vaccum press lol
What's that white junk your drill press is smashing?
It's cutting board material. You can also use a block of wood to backstop the assembly.
