In Surah Baqarah aya 37, where Allah The Most Knowledgeable says that He taught nabee Adam(AS) the names, he is referring to the names of the creation as the swahabi ibn Abbas(R.A) said. It refers to things like this is the earth, horse, donkey etc. You can refere to the Tafsir of imaam ibnu Khatheer(R.A). As for knowing all the other languages, from what is apparent to me and Allah knows best. Is that he didn't know all the languages. Some languages are new, for example I'm from South Africa, my tribe and language is like 300 years old. Which goes to show that, those that lived before didn't know it nor Adam, since the knowledge of the unseen is only known by Allah alone.
