Brother can you show taking the full plastic up there and maybe the passenger upper side airbag panel? I need to add a camera and want to send the charging cable that route...
Would you happen to know which of the wires is the positive and which is the ground? I'm assuming the red and black, but want to confirm. I'm trying to install a wire tap for a radar detector.
I have the 2023 Accord EX-L hybrid which only has the standard auto-dimming mirror...I wanted to upgrade to the Homelink Mirror but most of the part salespeople tell me I have to have an attachment kit (08V03-30A-100 ) in order to replace the mirror...This part appears to be nothing more than a connection cable. My current mirror already has an electrical connection and I can't get a clear answer whether I need the attachment kit or not....American Honda has been useless in answer this connection claiming they don't have any "mechanics" on staff to answer this basic question and then referred me to my dealer who also has no idea! Can I use the current power cable for the new Homelink Mirror? I too am floored that this model doesn't already come with this mirror given that the car I replaced (a 2010) had the mirror as standard trim!
i believe you do. I just received the homelink mirror and tried to swap it out but the connection is different. looks like i am going to have to purchase connection kit or proper wire to run.
Wow...that's a shame for sure! I ended up adding a web controller to the garage door opener which opens the garage from an app or google assistant. Total cost was about $20 when I bought the controller off of eBay. Much cheaper and a more reasonable alternative than adding the new mirror alone much less having to buy the new connector and rewire the system through the ceiling. I can't believe Honda doesn't include the mirror as standard OEM equipment on this upper level car! SMH Thanks for the input!
Hey Charles, I would think the EXL and Touring as well. It would be a shame if Honda decided to turn that HomeLink mirror into an aftermarket add-on accessory only...not really sure.
@@Auto-Minute.. I was thinking the EX-L and Touring as well.. however when I went to look at a few of them at the dealership they didn't have it on the Riverview mirror.. It look like an auto dimming mirror only.. the same one the Sport L uses. I read somewhere that they didn't offer it on any Accord and you had to get it installed as an add-on. I also have seen some sport models & higher trims that did not have the blind spot monitoring or Lane assist on the outside mirrors.. I guess it's a result of the chip shortage .. The cars were near the 35k.. that is bad to leave that off on a car at that price level.
@@charlesjackson1700 Wow...well then it truly is a shame that they went that route. I know Honda offers a lot of safety features out the box, but not having HomeLink on your highest trim is a bit silly. I see it listed online for around $350. They can now add a new line under "Door Edge Guards" on the sticker lol
@@Auto-Minute.. It does not make any sense not having Homelink on those High trim levels.. They are also adding other things on the sticker price for another 1,200.. a lot of useless stuff like paint sealant and other protective packages, wheel locks. These auto companies are really gouging the consumers.. Paying a lot more and getting a lot less...
Hey Tony - I would start from the bottom first, prying it open a little and then running that same pry tool up the seam towards the front. Once you've created even spacing in the seam, continue using the pry tool to wiggle it open further and further. Eventually you will need to pull the shroud apart, but do so by pulling on the right side piece.
My car has the regular flip-up mirror. When I removed my shroud, I realized that I don't even have a power cable to make this upgrade. Is there no way I can perform this mod?
Yes you can perform this mod all you need is part number 08V03-3A0-100 from Honda and it will plug directly into your fuse box under your steering wheel there is a spot to plug directly into it then run the harness to where your original mirror was you need Honda harness part number 08V03-30A-100
Unfortunately, it doesn't. Adding a Homelink mirror only allows that feature. You would need to pickup a dashcam adapter (ex: dongar.tech/products/12pinaccord) in order to have that dashcam connection. Hope that helps - Cheers!
@@Auto-MinuteI think that he was asking if you could a Dongar adapter to tap into the cable harness for dash cam power. I have a 2023 Accord Touring, and the Honda tech said that Honda no longer has removable cable harnesses that can be unplugged, allowing for a cable adapter. I haven’t disassembled mine to see. No reason to think that he was wrong.

What trim levels have the Homelink as standard equipment? Nobody seems to know I've talk to? I was thinking EXL and the Touring ?

I have the Touring version. It came standard with the auto-dimming mirror. The Homelink mirror was a $350 option.
I’m having the hardest time trying to get this off. Have any other tips?

Would it be the same process for a 2023 civic?
Similar adapter and plastic shroud. I believe I have a video on the Civic installation.

Yes you have to run a harness
