Got to chat with the Black Knight in new undies. You must of felt so warm and cozy. This little guy won majors against Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer. Just an extremely talented dedicated Legend. My all time favorite.
Whose's the suitcase at the top of the stairs LMAO. I followed him and Bob Charles in a practice round on the Old Course at St Andrews , 2000. He put his ball in the bunker at the front of 11, stood on it and then played it out to a 1ft .... Legend
Wonderful, Andy - I could have used the “no SW” reminder this weekend while playing Merion, home of ‘13 US Open. Mr Player made for a great interview…well played.
Gary Player, one of my favourite players ever. My dad had a book of tips for better golf that was from the cartoon strips in the Sunday express. This was printed late 60’s early70’s. Remember one of his classics was to use the 15th club, eg the one between you ears. In later years he explained his daily fitness routine which enabled him to extend his career, plus his immortal response of the more he practices the “luckier” he gets regards his bunker play. You are a very lucky man to have met Gary I am very jealous
What an opportunity for you Andy and what an extraordinarily enthusiastic character he is. Still so full of energy .... and as they say in South Africa....talent!😂
Andy, what a great video, the best one on RUclips by far this year. Really enjoyed watching GP talking common sense about this great game we enjoy playing 👏
Wow, Andy Respect👍 I feel for you for leaving the case behind, I did several times during my working career. So my solution was to keep an emergency case in my car, with toiletries & underwear just in case my memory failed again
Andy what a privilege to be in Gary players company. When I lived in South Africa, 34 years ago, the company that I worked for arranged a golf day. A round with Gary Player. Basically he played one hole with 18 3 balls he payed the first hole with the first 3 ball then waited on the second tee for the next 3 ball and so on. What an amazing experience, his enthusiasm is contagious. He has lost none of his enthusiasm or love for the game. His fitness for a man of 85 years young is incredible one word to describe him is Legend. I cannot understand why he has not received a knighthood and if he doesn’t will be a real travesty.
He's such a character, Mr Player. Your last interaction at Scottsdale was great also. When he was saying he'd lost so much money to you in the matches 😁 I'll bet if you'd took your daughter on the away trip she wouldn't have let you forget your case 🤣🤣🤣
green side.. i do use the sand wedge.. but do just what he did with the 7 iron.. de loft it to a 7 , back in stance weight forward and bump down on it. pretty much a dummy proof bump and run
A true legend and a massive talent, his advice about links play so relevant. I am sure tiger woods 1st open experience he played his approaches as per typical inland courses in the states, missed the cut but started to practice hitting low shots etc. as he wanted an open title as he knew it separates the true champions
ffs somebody have The Black Knight put out a video with his fundamentals and then let the man talk as much as he likes about golf. I’ve seen a few vids with GP in them but none as yet touch on his unparalleled knowledge of the swing. I have seen him mention that Hogan had worked the swing out before he was able to implement whatever he’d discovered. These are the guys that saw the swing in terms of the individual and not some get rich quick venture that is doled out across the world today. That’s my point somebody that isn’t interested in themselves needs to get GP to dump as much as he knows before he’s no longer around to ask. Just sayin’

What a privilege to be in the company of such a legend you asked some great questions and could he have hit any better shots for you
He is 85, and still hits a ball like that, got to love Gary Player massive legend in the game of golf

What I love about Gary Player is that not only does he talk a good game but he has proven it with all his major wins ,living legend and a funny guy👍

You did well to talk and ask the questions we would like to ask - most would be stood open mouthed in awe

He's right, the average weekend warrior should play low not high... legend!
The Bobbies!! Stop or I’ll say stop again!! Would love to pick a legend like Players brain. The man played with the greats of the game.
He is one in a million
WOW! The Black Knight!
Amazing video mate 👏
Brilliant a true legend
"The last time I missed a fairway the Pope was an Alter Boy" LOL!

Golf lesson and stand up act in one session.

Gary is one of the funniest guys in golf

Touch of class.
Leaving your suitcase at home. Emergency shopping for undies. LOL Andy. Been there, done that so I feel for you buddy :)
Ah your PXG buddy!
No offense to our host....but damn.....Gary Player!
You tease, GIVE ME MORE! 😂
If I’m away at a golf venue and Sullivan the pro golfer turns up . . . . . I’m asking do you know the average golfer 😉
Lucky, lucky man..
Whoever gave u a thump down is a tool!
Nothing average about that man nor this video!
“The last time I missed a fairway the pope was an altar boy.” That wasn’t even a brag. It was facts.
My wife always getting on me because always leaving stuff at home lol or losing keys wallet lol
Practice
Gary doesn't wear "new school" shoes !!! ( who wear such golf shoes today ???)
These were hardly secrets…I was doing these things 60 years ago when I was playing off 2.
Gary Playeris he all that ?
Multiple major winner in an era that had some of the best players ever in the game. Palmer, Nicklaus, Trevino,, yes he is
Oh and he is 85 years old, and at the time of doing the grand slam of majors was the youngest ever to do it.
ffs somebody have The Black Knight put out a video with his fundamentals and then let the man talk as much as he likes about golf.

It's a good thing Gary Player came along when he did, because he had one of the worst swings in golf, and still does.
Doesn't matter what it looks like- he competed against : Palmer, Nicklaus, Trevino so strong competion.
