Most definitely, it's important to understand the Islamist mindset, even the wider muslim worlds mindset. See how supporters of Iran or its proxies reacted in the hours after this 'attack', it's all about humiliating Israel and 'the Jews'. Speak to literally any muslim in the region and how they see the 'Nakba' or the Six Day War, it's a great shame to them. Having said that, Israel is not out to humiliate Iran, its defending against a sovereign nation whose aim is to destroy Israel, and the wider aim to have no Jewish state in the Middle East.

Israel should consider itself lucky that Iran gave warning in the first drone + missile strike, and the second strike targeted only military sites. So far Iran has not hit civilian targets, but that is coming.

Under the Biden Administration it's difficult to predict how the United States would react to an Iranian missile attack on US bases in the Middle East where no Iron Dome is in place to protect them, but Tehran should be wise enough not to risk dragging the US into their war against Israel. Meanwhile, Iran is a target rich environment for Israel's promised attack. Oil export facilities, nuclear weapons sites, and ballistic missile launching bases quickly come to mind. There are both tactical and geopolitical strategic rationales aplenty for any or all of those targets. The Israeli government is certainly considering all of the potential negative ramifications while instructing their IDF/IAF targeting cells accordingly. It will be interesting to see which targets the Israelis decide to strike, and when, and in what order. For strikes by the Israeli Air Force, the logistics are daunting because of the distances involved which will require air refueling of the strike packages involving vulnerable tankers. The Iranians have an obsolete force of defensive fighter aircraft, mostly ancient F-4 Phantoms and F-14 Tomcats. These aircraft have been increasingly difficult to maintain due to lack of spare parts. Nevertheless what few serviceable planes the Iranians might be able to get airborne, they could still pose a formidable threat to lumbering Israeli tankers if they stray too close to Irania fighter bases., The Israelis will have to account for such eventualities by sending protective fighter escorts loaded out with air to air missiles instead of air to surface bombs and missiles which affects the number of ground attack loaded fighters that can be mustered.
While Iran has to sit and wait for Israel’s reply back to Iran.

the missile lunches have probably been a test to better understand and collect information about the Israel possible defence. So there is the need to see what kind of missiles have been lunched, if old ones then it is just to test, and that would be a fraction of the full Iranian arsenal.
