If he didnt care about WINNER or see potential in them, they wouldnt have even been on the WIN: WHO IS NEXT? show. He knows they have the potential to be great and he wants them to work hard to achieve greatness. Greatness does not come without some kind of work. Big Bang would not be where they are if YG had not been hard on them. Have faith in Papa YG. His method may seem harsh but they have never failed. Prime examples like I said: BIGBANG and 2NE1.
But lots of fans cant understand him... Now yg is in crisis but if fans won't unite what will happen to their idol?? Disband and be in another company?.. Is that satisfying?
I love how Seungri's like "No problem guys" and does whatever he's told to do. He's such a good sport, always ready to entertain and make people laugh. He's so funny, I can't stop laughing. Definitely one of the best maknaes ever. :)

Seungri knew very well how to talk and socialize with their juniors because he knew his hyungs too well. G Dragon didn't talk to seungri for their first 3 months as a group and being mean to him as well. He knew how hard it is to socialize with his hyungs. That's why he does most of the talkings to somehow ease the scary feeling of their juniors. 😊
GD and Taeyang were both mentors to these boys so I don't think there's a barrier like that. Seungri is Bigbangs Maknae and is the closest in age to the winner boys. Plus, it's seungri. He's passing on the support he received as the youngest.
I can understand why YG Family is called a "family" in a sense. they are so real and true to each other. Not only for broadcasting but in reality whenever they are close together
this is why yg and sm comebacks are different.. sm groups can comeback every year despite heavy individual schedule because the songs already prepared for them and the groups pick songs from many demos, while for yg they have 2 yr comeback bcause they have to write their own song, and even if somebody wrote it for them they have to insert their own color too.. moreover, YG is so damn perfectionist so comeback could be longer.. (ah, im not starting fanwar just state my opinion from an SM stan)
SM is soooo different from group to group but that isn't true to most of the younger artists in SM (EXO, RV and NCT) because they prepare for a very, very, very long time (EXO had 1 one year hiatus ones bc of this) but when they do comeback, they do everything (tours, music videos, stages, promotion) in a very very little time. I think this is mostly for EXO tho, but its actually turning into a bad thing considering how many injuries they get
This is my 2nd favorite Winner tv episode cause it really emphasizes Papa YG's amazing CEO mentality. Like when Mino wrote a mellow song Papa YG was like "Do what you're good at since its your solo track". YG artists can do anything. They can have songs as smooth as the waves in the ocean or songs as hot as the embers of a fire. Basically Papa YG is telling Mino "I know you can do this type of song but I want you to do the type that you're best at. I don't want you to show people you can be different. I want you to show people you can be the best". So in the end instead of Mino showing everybody he's capable of doing something different, Papa YG goes "do what you're good at" and Mino's solo song on the album is now "I'm Him".
+Ngapsa wangsu what i know is jinwoo attended in Seungri's academy then Seungri probably saw jinwoo talent and brought him to YG. Then jinwoo became YG trainee and seungri support him/watched him from afar. sorry for my english tho

this is my first time watching Winner TV, and it was because despite all the talk about WINNER, I've never taken the time to follow up on them, until I watched their recent music videos, and it was with pure curiosity and barely any genuine interest. I ended up LOVING their music, and got their whole album in my iPod. It's SO different from all the other boy groups, it's mature, it's lively, it's sodden with emotions, it brings the spirit up in ways that one cannot explain, and it also relaxes one's spirit without much difficulty. Now seeing this episode, and seeing what YG said, damn, they really did it. Their music is SO YG, but not cliched or copied off of BIGBANG, and honestly a totally new and refreshing taste of KPOP that is so exciting, and just riveting with the blood of a new era and style, yet still pertains depth and artistic skills... and I am just dying with anticipation for what's coming next. WNNER is gonna go far, they better, their music is the next generation of KPOP.
I couldn't have said it better myself!!! I have been hearing people talk about how they thought WINNER was supposed to be the next Big Bang and how they are disappointed with their debut... but I actually thought that their album was fresh and different from all the other boy bands and that I think is what makes them popular!! As YG said "any one can write a song" its just about writing what they are good at and their album does just that!! Love every song on their album! WINNER FIGHTING!!!

After watching that combo with YG, now I completely understand how did his artist achieve their success. I dont think he is being harsh to Winner. I think he said the right words. I agree with him that Winner should not feel relieve just because they are guaranteed to debut. I also agree with Seunghoon when he said they have a long way to go. It might not be an ideal encouragement for some of you guys but for me those words will really put me at the edge of my sit. I'll be damned if I wont do well. Plus I really like it when YG said that Winner should be different from Bigbang and all other groups out there. Look at what they are now. They have attained it and they are being acknowledge for it. They got into YG because they are talented. They got great songs when they debuted, performed well, performed in a huge concert, and got many awards. Some people say they lack promotions, but it is just how YG works. They don't really go to variety show as much as other idols. We are even lucky they made winner tv because other artists of YG didn't even have one. XD And it is better for YG to be blunt than to sugarcoat things.

YG wasnt being harsh at all...he's one of those few people that can actually give constructive criticism and show people the bigger picture with simple words...that's his "talent", and i doubt any of the artists in YG could have been this successful without his talent.

this is why yg and sm comebacks are different.. sm groups can comeback every year despite heavy individual schedule because the songs already prepared for them and the groups pick songs from many demos, while for yg they have 2 yr comeback bcause they have to write their own song, and even if somebody wrote it for them they have to insert their own color too.. moreover, YG is so damn perfectionist so comeback could be longer..

SM is soooo different from group to group but that isn't true to most of the younger artists in SM (EXO, RV and NCT) because they prepare for a very, very, very long time (EXO had 1 one year hiatus ones bc of this) but when they do comeback, they do everything (tours, music videos, stages, promotion) in a very very little time. I think this is mostly for EXO tho, but its actually turning into a bad thing considering how many injuries they get
Watch EXO's Lotto MV EXO and RV have comeback every year and sometimes twice a year.. (for repackage or mini album)

This is my 2nd favorite Winner tv episode cause it really emphasizes Papa YG's amazing CEO mentality. Like when Mino wrote a mellow song Papa YG was like "Do what you're good at since its your solo track". YG artists can do anything. They can have songs as smooth as the waves in the ocean or songs as hot as the embers of a fire. Basically Papa YG is telling Mino "I know you can do this type of song but I want you to do the type that you're best at. I don't want you to show people you can be different. I want you to show people you can be the best". So in the end instead of Mino showing everybody he's capable of doing something different, Papa YG goes "do what you're good at" and Mino's solo song on the album is now "I'm Him".

why didn't jinwoo go sm, I would have liked him to go through less hardships even though I wouldn't have known him as well, but with his visuals alone he would be in exo
+Christian 0000 less hardships? Apparently you have no idea how hard it is to get in in SM, let alone debut. The Big 3 are notorious for being extremely picky when it comes to their trainees and are known to have a brutal training process. I doubt it if his looks are enough to make SM keep him.

this is my first time watching Winner TV, and it was because despite all the talk about WINNER, I've never taken the time to follow up on them, until I watched their recent music videos, and it was with pure curiosity and barely any genuine interest. I ended up LOVING their music, and got their whole album in my iPod. It's SO different from all the other boy groups, it's mature, it's lively, it's sodden with emotions, it brings the spirit up in ways that one cannot explain, and it also relaxes one's spirit without much difficulty. Now seeing this episode, and seeing what YG said, damn, they really did it. Their music is SO YG, but not cliched or copied off of BIGBANG, and honestly a totally new and refreshing taste of KPOP that is so exciting, and just riveting with the blood of a new era and style, yet still pertains depth and artistic skills... and I am just dying with anticipation for what's coming next. WNNER is gonna go far, they better, their music is the next generation of KPOP.

I couldn't have said it better myself!!! I have been hearing people talk about how they thought WINNER was supposed to be the next Big Bang and how they are disappointed with their debut... but I actually thought that their album was fresh and different from all the other boy bands and that I think is what makes them popular!! As YG said "any one can write a song" its just about writing what they are good at and their album does just that!! Love every song on their album! WINNER FIGHTING!!!

After watching that combo with YG, now I completely understand how did his artist achieve their success. I dont think he is being harsh to Winner. I think he said the right words. I agree with him that Winner should not feel relieve just because they are guaranteed to debut. I also agree with Seunghoon when he said they have a long way to go. It might not be an ideal encouragement for some of you guys but for me those words will really put me at the edge of my sit. I'll be damned if I wont do well.
Plus I really like it when YG said that Winner should be different from Bigbang and all other groups out there. Look at what they are now. They have attained it and they are being acknowledge for it.

rARa aVis I agree. I think it was okay for him to say that. It is tough love. It is kind of a wake up call for winners. I think some are just making a big deal out of this. They got into YG because they are talented. They got great songs when they debuted, performed well, performed in a huge concert, and got many awards. Some people say they lack promotions, but it is just how YG works. They don't really go to variety show as much as other idols. We are even lucky they made winner tv because other artists of YG didn't even have one. XD And it is better for YG to be blunt than to sugarcoat things.

YG wasnt being harsh at all...he's one of those few people that can actually give constructive criticism and show people the bigger picture with simple words...that's his "talent", and i doubt any of the artists in YG could have been this successful without his talent.

YG sometimes sounds harsh but he knows what he does an he knows how to make awesome groups. I mean they "just" won against Team B but if they want to be famous and really good they have to beat other groups too which are maybe longer in this business. I would behave the same as WINNER. I would at first think 'Wow I got it. Know my dream comes true.' but then you need someone who makes you realize that this was just the first step. This person is YG to them.
