Threading the human element throughout a Sci-Fi film helps the audience engage with the film even more. Of course, the characters must be likeable and relatable. This film does that, very well. This film runs the gamut of emotions -- from sheer terror (Godzilla's rampage) to courage (the pilot and naval personnel) to compassion (the adults towards the little child). I've spent a lot of time (and money) watching Kaiju films, but this one stands heads and shoulders above the rest. @@WakizashisTeahouse You're welcome. Films such as "The Thing from Another World," "The Day the Earth Stood Still," "Forbidden Planet," "The Planet of the Apes" (1968) and "Alien," all had interesting characters which helped those films move along very effectively. Human interaction during times of crisis is always crucial for any story -- be they the subject of romance, war or dealing with monsters. It's who we are. Godzilla has always had a regeneration factor. This ability was established in Godzilla vs Biollante. Because his cells are independent and that’s how Biollante grew as well. And Godzilla 2000 even expanded on how fast he can regenerate and how the cells work individually. Later incarnations took different liberties. But Godzilla has always had a regeneration factor. How fast and how effecy he regenerates, depends heavily on the incarnation or how much radiation his body has. Higher energy = faster regeneration. But that rule usually applies to Heisei and G2000. But yeah, if his remains are regenerating that fast, then that means he isn’t technically dead and is regenerating back to full body. Which also means, this Godzilla cannot truly die no matter how hard you blow him up. As long as a piece of him remains, he will regenerate.

Minus one Godzilla's defeat sounds very similar to 2001 GMK Godzilla's defeat. Basically GMK Godzilla had a wound on his neck and when he tried to use his Atomic breath it blasted out of his neck wound and all the built up atomic energy exploded inside him and all that was left of GMK Godzilla was his still beating heart on the ocean floor.
@@WakizashisTeahouse Your welcome, also GMK Godzilla is one the most evil versions of Godzilla, because when you describe the scene where Minus one Godzilla uses his Atomic breath and makes a huge explosion like a nuke, GMK Godzilla uses his Atomic breath on a crowd of people and miles away schoole teacher who is evacuating her students then the school suddenly shakes for a second and the Teacher looks outside the classroom window and see a giant mushroom cloud explosion miles away and the Teacher whispers "Atom bomb"
I have just been to a theater to see it and loved it! It is very different from the hollywood interpretation of Godzilla movies and I am not sure if people outside of Japan like it or not? Godzilla's regeneration ability has been mentioned in movies and other media before. Best description I've read was in one of Marc Cerasini's books. Every shell and bomb causes damage but it's healed before the smoke can clear. Something to that effect.
That's good to know, thanks. On some Japanese RUclips videos about the movie, they often talk about the location of this Godzilla's brain being in his tail. Which is why blowing up his head doesn't kill him. I'd never heard that before and it's pretty fascinating.
The U.S. was accurately portraited 🤣They only think about their politics and economy, and a help is only given when it's convenient to them.. haha I absolutely loved how grounded and rooted in Japanese WW2 perspectives the film is 💯 People from the West definitely need to study how the Japanese viewed WW2 to fully appreciate this film in my opinion
Not showing any of the occupying American soldiers was a bit strange. Apart from a brief news clip of General MacArthur there are no westerners in this movie. But I enjoyed the focus on the Japanese characters trying to rebuild their lives.
@@WakizashisTeahouse What american soldiers did to Japanese women during it's occupation makes what Godzilla did seem like Mr Roger's Neighborhood. Godzilla was a monster and so were US soldiers.
That rumor probably eluded to the pre-mutated / per-irridiated Godzilla. Which you see in the movie within like the first 10 minutes, as described in this video.
The regenerative power of G-Cells has been discussed in other Godzilla movies, before. Godzilla vs Biollante, specifically. But it hasn't really been shown in this kind of explicit detail and it's also similar to the mutative properties of Godzilla in Shin Godzilla.
If Godzilla always has that power can he ever be truly destroyed? Also I heard from a Japanese friend that Godzilla's brain is in his tail, so that's why he could regenerate after the mine blew up in his mouth.
@@WakizashisTeahouseI haven't heard anything about Godzilla having a brain in his tail. They mentioned in one of the '90s movies that he had a second brain in his spine. But there're multiple Godzilla continuities, so what's true is one universe isn't necessarily true in another.

It may be the best Godzilla movie yet. But how does it stack up to other current movies, for example the so-called Oscar worthy films out of Hollywood this year?
Just got a chance to watch this movie with my wife in Australia last night. It was an advanced screening here where actual date starts from Dec 1st. Enjoyed the whole movie. I'm not a real fan of Godzilla so didn't watch much of the previous ones. Didn't watch Shin Godzilla though so what I might say may be already obvious. From watching minus1, I kind of felt like in that whole story, what really happened was Godzilla was never really there... As a person that went through wartime and the trauma that remains, Godzilla was probably a hallucination/ illusion that he sees or symbolize. To me "Godzilla" was just a nuclear weapon from the enemy during that wartime. Due to its mass destruction to the country that made Kamiki Ryunosuke (can't remember his name in the movie) perceived it as a monster which is Godzilla. The whole story may just be a war story that Ryunosuke sees that weapon as Godzilla and to make this movie into Godzilla series. Watch with my wife and she was surprised with Godzilla's regeneration. Took me by surprise as well but then realized that probably because he is Godzilla and the reason there were so many Godzilla series is then no surprise. Since he can also charge the blue beams on his back and shoot out the Blue rays from his mouth as well. From the Tokyo scene to the end, I thought maybe Noriko still alive. Then thought if she's still alive would be too fairy tale storyline. After that, have a looked at Godzilla himself and thought, even he himself is a cheating miracle so anything can happened, Noriko probably arrived somewhere. At final scene, thought Kamiki will eventually died while Noriko becomes arrive and carry on the "future" that was mentioned in the movie. That scene before the final part, I knew Tachibana probably did something to the plane and made that one have ejector while lying to Kamiki that if bomb detonator(until final scene to realized that Tachibana eventually told Kamiki that there was ejector already.) I also had in mind that either Kamiki would not eject himself and decide to just die together with Godzilla since Noriko is no longer there as well(from what he knows) or he did actually try to eject but it's stuck not pushing him out. Anyway end up with tears more than my wife.😅 One last thing. Just a curious question to ask you. When Kamiki Ryunosuke had a look at a photograph where there was a soldier and a little girl next to the person, was that little girl Akiko in the photo? Or was it not her as in storyline, but the girl use in the photo is the same girl who acted as Akiko in the movie?
Thanks for your comment. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it too. I enjoyed reading your thoughts on what Godzilla represented to main character Koichi (Ryunosuke Kamiki). In this movie Godzilla can be seen as many things and I'm sure different viewers interpret him in different ways. The deadly and destructive power of atomic weapons manifested in a physical form or a vengeful godlike being punishing the human race. I don't know who the girl was in that photo. I guess she was the daughter of one of the men who died on the island at the start of the movie. Koichi was carrying the family photos of all the men who died there as a form of penance for surviving. By the way, did you notice the strange colour of the bruise on Noriko's neck at the end? I've heard theories that she may have been somehow infected by Godzilla during his attack on Ginza, Tokyo, which is why she survived...
@@WakizashisTeahouse Thank you for your reply as well. No I did not notice the neck bruise of Noriko as that scene was too emotional for me for what was happening. 😅 I saw one of the comment from someone on your channel that mentioned about the neck bruise and how she survived. Infact there are some of these topics mentioned in Japanese youtubes and websites as well. Apart from Noriko’s neck, there are also many other minor details to the movie especially on Godzilla himself that leads to many other keypoints. I’m trying to go through those interesting details and might as well watch the movie again to recognize those. With that theory of how Noriko survived, would be interesting also if the ending instead turn out as Koichi eventually crash the plane without ejecting and simply just died from suicide. However, with the cell of Godzilla inhibit to his body(just like Noriko’s theory), he somehow came back and survived.
You forgot to mention one very crucial detail, that's at the very end of the film. You didn't mention how the veins in Noriko's neck start going black, Which I believe is indicating that she's sick with radiation poisoning or something else even more sinister.
@@squidcorps Me too. I'd love to see the same creative team make it. Apparently Yamasaki-san wants to do another one. But there's been no decision by TOHO yet.

I didn't watched because I don't want to be spoiled, but the one thing I want to know: Is it true there is a second un-mutated Godzilla or the leaks were false ?
"Godzilla 1954: Defeated by a weapon that the creator feared. A weapon of greater potential than the atomic bomb that spawned Godzilla himself. Godzilla minus one: ow, a plane flew into my mouth." The way Godzilla was defeated was a low showing for the character. Gojira>Godzilla minus one
Not a happy ending. They zoomed in on her neck while he hugged her. She has Radiation poison, her veins turned black so she most likely will die some time afterwards. Short lived happy ending.
@WakizashisTeahouse Well in the recent Hollywood ones they projected Godzilla as a hero. To me in Minus One it seems to me ( from the trailer at least) that he's only out for destruction, meaning a force of nature that's out for blood. I like this depiction of Godzilla much more.
Quite literally a retelling of godzilla godzilla: Giant monsters all out attack. Glad to see them bring back this "super power" just show casing, you may be able to survive the power of nature. But it will always come back for more. ALWAYS
I want to watch it because the director of "Godzilla Minus One" said "Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack"is his favourite Godzilla movie. He also said it was an inspiration on this new movie.
Explosive decompression ... REALLY? An organism that is MASSIVE, has the ability to fire out an Atomic Energy "breath" weapon, and can dive deep intoi the ocean is going to be bothered by Explosive decompression? It's an interesting concept, but such a creature is not built around an ordinary earthly physiology, or biological framework. It's skin tissues must bave the density of something akin to reinforced steel, yet has the flexibility to bend and flex like kevlar, only stronger. In order to circulate it's body's support fluids from feet to head, it's heart has to have the power of a nuclear powered turbine generator, never mind the complexity of it's circulatory system. Don't even get me started on the power of it's lungs and muscles; the entire collection powered by an organic equivalent of a huge nuclear reactor. Consider that before Godzilla launches it's nuclear breath enery beam, it's body must project massive cooling spines to absorb and disperse massive amounts of radioactive HEAT. And we are suppose to belkieve that something as mundane as Explosive Decompression is enough to stun, let alone kill it? ... Well why not... it's a Godzilla movie, yes? I won't overthink things. BTW, this movie seems to take inspiration from two other movies at least. The hero's kamikaze dive into Godzilla mouth before it can unleash it's breath weapon is akin to the climactic moment in Independence Day. and the after credits scene of Godzilla's remain slowly but surely regenerating is akin to another monster flic where the monster loses a leg before it is destroyed, and the severed limb sinks into the ocean where it starts to regenerate. Unfortunately, i casn't remember the name of the movie; it was something like Reptilicus or something like that.
So basically Minus One is GMK without Mothra, King Ghidorah, and Godzilla being possessed. He basically dies the same way and piece of him starts to regenerate on the sea floor.
What attracted me to the 1954 Godzilla films was the way they showed us the slow and gradual destruction of a city by a giant monster and the horror that looms over us, from which there is no escape. Unfortunately, none of the Godzilla films since the first film have approached the depths of such horror. What I want to see is not an emotional human drama, but a destruction movie in which Godzilla is the main character.
@@WakizashisTeahouse I fell in love with the first one at first sight, so unfortunately all the others seem to be bad and I can't appreciate them. Actually, I have not seen this film yet even though I live in Japan. If I see this film in the theater, I may change my mind.
Hmmm I hope there is more as the trailer makes me think that Godzilla is heavily linked to some disaster caused by the Japanese and American to the point where the creature is like vengeful. Like the lines in the trailer of the creature will not forgive us and the you are a disgrace lines with conspiracy papers so like I felt a mystery element in this film from the trailer. They didn't cover Godzilla's origin. He was portrayed as a furious unstoppable force. I got the impression he attacked Japan because it was the closest landmass.
@@WakizashisTeahouse That's the biggest flaw with this movie. Everything seemed to transpire coincidentally as if he's there just for the sake of being there to incite mayhem. They haven't released any dates for DVD release yet. I just checked and got this message: "The anticipated movie Godzilla Minus One upcoming 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD and VOD release date in the USA and UK is to be announced."
Interesting, sounds good, but also not, in part. - There's no origin story, Big G is just there!? 🤔 - Right after WW2, the Japanese military has still weapons (they had to give them all up, if I remember right) & no US troops stationed there? What's going on here? 🤨 - Might be wrong here, but why use the end of WW2 & then change the situation, without using it's potential? The end sounds weird as well. Now, I'm not saying it's bad, haven't watched it, I will buy the BR 1st day it's out, but it does sound strange. Thinking about it, if there will be sequels, maybe it's like the "Half Century War" comic, as in it spans several contacts over many years, presenting different wars. Whatever worldbuilding & storytelling, it could, and should, happen there.
-No origin story. -Yeah, that was strange. It's not historically accurate but maybe because it's a science fiction film, I guess. -I would've liked to see the US and Japan fighting Godzilla together. I hope they make a sequel.
The plot of the film is that the U.S. used Russia as an excuse to force Godzilla into Japan, even though there was no army in Japan immediately after the war ended. The director of this film has made several WWII and postwar films in the past, so the historical background and weaponry settings are fairly well made. A story line in which the U.S. Occupation Forces, known as the U.S. Empire, and the returning Japanese soldiers, the main characters in this film, unite to fight to defeat Godzilla does not seem realistic. The burnt ruins of Tokyo at the beginning of the film are the result of an attack by the United States. If the Americans were the main characters, the Pacific Fleet might have played a role.
@@mintian6304 That's not the plot I saw. The U.S. used their strained relationship with the USSR as an excuse not to help Japan fight Godzilla. The US testing the atomic bomb in the Pacific caused Godzilla to mutate and increase in size. Japan was the closest country.
Did His Majesty the Emperor or the Imperial Palace appear in this movie? You should draw it in 1945. In the previous work, "Shin Godzilla," Toho and the Imperial Household Agency were told to never include the imperial family or the emperor, so did the current "Godzilla-1.0" mention the emperor?
Is there any comment about what Godzilla is, where he came from,or why he's doing what he's doing? If so, then yeah, I can see this being the best Godzilla film ever made, if not, then it definitely sounds like "one of the best". Omitting any of that can't help but seem silly to me, I mean they did that in the original, why not this one? I'm from back when people liked knowing what was going on, even if it took a while to get to the bottom of it, though, so maybe you can't go by me.
Not that I saw or heard, although my Japanese language ability isn't perfect. He just appears on this small island at the beginning of the movie, but some of the men stationed there know his name: "Gojira." It's pretty mysterious.
Haven't been to the theater since the early 90's. So I'll wait to see if it will be on bluray. Every shin copy I've seen runs on Japanese players only so I've never seen it. Plus if it's not dubbed then I definitely will never see it. Basically I'm fine with spoilers
I am not sure if the plane that landed in Godzilla's mouth had an ejection seat. Most Japanese planes used during WW2 or around this era were used for suicide mission so ejection was not an option.
The plane is a call back to many Godzilla films where humanity has got a super duper vehicle, usually a plane, to help them. In Godzilla Minus 1 the plane is also described as a prototype nobody saw in action.

It was nice to see people band together and prove to themselves that they can win for a change. The ending was rather weak, the movie did not need a happy ending.

I didn't say anything about the U.S. being heroes. But in reality they would surely have helped Japan defend the country from Godzilla. They were occupying the country from the end of WW2.
@@WakizashisTeahouse well despite all the warnings and recommendations from other scientists U.S.A. used the bombs direct to the cities because they said to have invested already too much money to stop. The main idea from other experts was to destroy the Fuji 🗻 mountain to show the power of the nuclear weapons to the Japanese monarchy but U.S.A. wanted to experiment with real humans the effects of nuclear adiation. U.S.A. took the survivors pretending to help (because the hospitals were destroyed) but they only did a documented observation for many years ot observe the critical states before their end. Also the information about what happened was censored in Japan. They took even the control of the media to hide some key words and decide what the Japanese people can know or not. So the atrocities of the nuclear nukes lasted many decades and you find it perfect for your weapon development department. If you have time you can find that info even in RUclips.
Considering the overall tone and gravitas of this Godzilla storyline, Godzilla's design comes across as rather cartoonish. It would have been more effective to make the monster look scarier, akin to the terrifying appearance of Shin Godzilla.

But this is the first time we've ever seen it shown on screen.

Thanks for your list. I'm going to be watching more Godzilla films in future.
I saw it too. Even for Japanese people, I thought this acting was exaggerated and easy to understand.
I think the director requested an easy-to-understand, symbolic acting style for people around the world to see.
That's a very good point. I enjoyed the acting in this movie even if the main character Koichi was exaggerated at times. People around the world are really loving this movie.
This sounds like a really good story. I can't wait to see it on the big screen in December. Thanks for the review.

It opens on December 1st in the States as far as I know. See it on a BIG screen if you can, mate.
Oh cool. Now I need to watch that movie too. It will be interesting to compare them. Thanks for your comment.

gman minus one deserved better. 😔

Godzilla has had this regeneration power since Godzilla 2000. It was called regenerater G-1. Or reorganizer G-1 in Japan.

I wonder who will be his "plus one"?
The soundtrack was the best part of this movie. Really drew on the emotions.
The soundtrack is amazing and a big part of making this movie so moving.
No sorry if this is controversial but this is truly the best Godzilla movie ever made
Not controversial at all. It's an incredible movie and needs to be seen on a big screen with a high quality sound system.
I would love to have it on Blue Ray.
Me too!

@TWDub Yes, Shin was that bad and worse. One of the worst Godzilla films made.

Thanks so much for watching!
@DevonYisraelAPTTMH Didn't you see or hear the spoiler warnings? You don't have to watch it.
I heard there was supposed to be a second Godzilla in the movie. A pre-evolved form that gave hints to his origin. What happened to that?
It was just a rumour.

Did you notice that Noriko's neck was eroded by G cells in the last scene?
No I didn't. I was surprised she wasn't more injured, but I didn't see that. Interesting...

This is a consideration, but I think G cells saved her from dying.
You missed that when he meet Noriko in the hospital, there is something in her neck.
Yes I did. I thought it was just a bruise. Fans are speculating that she has been somehow infected by Godzilla's radiation.
The regeneration of Godzilla at the end is great news. Leaving the door open this Godzilla to return in the future is awesome. There is a blank slate for new movies with this Godzilla. I can't wait to see what Toho comes up with next

@@WakizashisTeahouse ... Why not? It will be a Gold mine. Creating quality monster movies on a small budget is a win. Especially compared to the Legendary MV.
My guess is that TOHO will use this series to make a trilogy. I hope the next movie takes place in the 80s and then the final one in the 2000s.
It may be the best Godzilla movie yet. But how does it stack up to other current movies, for example the so-called Oscar worthy films out of Hollywood this year?
I don't pay much attention to the Oscars any more. For me, this is the best film of 2023 by a long way. But that's my subjective opinion.
Reminds me of Jaws - “Smile you son of a bitch!” Really can’t wait to see this.
Yes! That's a great scene which I think was an influence on the director.
That scene before the final part, I knew Tachibana probably did something to the plane and made that one have ejector while lying to Kamiki that if bomb detonator(until final scene to realized that Tachibana eventually told Kamiki that there was ejector already.)
I also had in mind that either Kamiki would not eject himself and decide to just die together with Godzilla since Noriko is no longer there as well(from what he knows) or he did actually try to eject but it's stuck not pushing him out.
Anyway end up with tears more than my wife.😅
One last thing.
@@WakizashisTeahouse
Thank you for your reply as well. No I did not notice the neck bruise of Noriko as that scene was too emotional for me for what was happening. 😅
I saw one of the comment from someone on your channel that mentioned about the neck bruise and how she survived.

Yeah, they were desperate and looking for any way they could fight Godzilla. The plan didn't work anyway.
So basically Minus One is GMK without Mothra, King Ghidorah, and Godzilla being possessed. He basically dies the same way and piece of him starts to regenerate on the sea floor.
GMK is the movie this director said inspired him the most after the original 1954 Godzilla.
Which Godzilla movies do you like the most after the original GOJIRA (1954)?
@@WakizashisTeahouse I fell in love with the first one at first sight, so unfortunately all the others seem to be bad and I can't appreciate them.

Interesting, sounds good, but also not, in part.
- There's no origin story, Big G is just there!? 🤔
- Right after WW2, the Japanese military has still weapons (they had to give them all up, if I remember right) & no US troops stationed there? What's going on here? 🤨
- Might be wrong here, but why use the end of WW2 & then change the situation, without using it's potential? The end sounds weird as well.
Now, I'm not saying it's bad, haven't watched it, I will buy the BR 1st day it's out, but it does sound strange.
Thinking about it, if there will be sequels, maybe it's like the "Half Century War" comic, as in it spans several contacts over many years, presenting different wars. Whatever worldbuilding & storytelling, it could, and should, happen there.

@@JBXyooj That would have been cool to see. Maybe they were limited by the budget.

No, they didn't show the Imperial family or Palace in this movie.

That's what I've heard. I want to watch that movie now.
The ending you described is very similar to how godzilla Mothra and king gidhora ended.
What are your top 5 Godzilla movies?
@WakizashisTeahouse 1. Godzilla vs Destroya. 2. Original 1954 Gojira. 3. Godzilla final wars. 4. Shin Godzilla. 5. Godzilla Mothra and king Gedorah.
@@johncraig1431 Thanks for your list. I'm going on a Godzilla movie journey. I haven't seen most of the Japanese movies apart from the original, Shin Gojira & the new one.
You must watch Godzilla vs Destroah.
@@johncraig1431 OK thanks for your recommendations.
I cant fucking wait 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Why do godzillas feet seem out of proportion to its body
No idea
Sounds like the ending of Reptilicus.
I had to look it up. Thanks for the information.
Reptilicus Wiki Page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reptilicus
Sorry you wasted your time.
It seem rather pointless to introduce themes of loss and regret only to just toss them out at the end.
so there isnt another monster like godzilla? looks sorta like him but not all burnt and scalely. and also a good guy.
like the leaks said...??! aww man. that is disappointing.
was hoping it was somewhat true.
No there isn't. Godzilla looks burnt at one point but it's him throughout the film.
Saw this last weekend and enjoyed it. Honestly, I liked Shin Godzilla more because of it accurately protrays the stupidity of Japanese pollitics and the "baby" godzilla was terrifying to look at. This movie heavily focuses on Japan's defeat after WW2. Having to rebuild after the war then to get it all destroyed again really hurts on an emotional level. It was nice to see people band together and prove to themselves that they can win for a change. The ending was rather weak, the movie did not need a happy ending.
I'm watching Shin Godzilla at the moment and it's excellent. It seems to be commenting on the Japanese government's slow reaction to the Fukushima disaster. As well as showing how helpless humanity would be against Godzilla.
@@WakizashisTeahouse Yes! I like it alot because it hit home hard (Used to live in Tokyo). The new one targets an older crowd I think, especially those who were impacted by the war. I have friends who lost many family members so it resonated more with them. It's still a good flick. What do you think? Did Shin Godzilla change your mind or opinion on Godzilla Minus One?
@@chinito77 I enjoyed them both very much. It's good to have the two different time settings and to see how people of the time might react to Godzilla's attack. Seeing modern Tokyo getting destroyed in Shin Godzilla hit me harder because I recognize some of the places in the movie.
I’m definitely going to see this,Gray! Last time I saw a Godzilla movie was the one that Bryan Cranston was in! Also you need to have an interesting backstory with a good payoff!👍👋
I actually enjoyed the 2014 movie with Cranston. But he wasn't in it for long enough. This has a fairly simple backstory for the main characters, but the payoff is good.
次の続編「Godzilla Minus One」のタイトルは何がいいですか?
まさか「Godzilla Minus Two」|0|
Haha, maybe. か Godzilla Zero.
Monster Zero
I expected spoilers but I thought you were gonna tell us what you liked and disliked, not retell the movie.
I got carried away by the story. I really need to see it again. My shorter review goes into what I enjoyed about it.
Why the hell would any real Godzilla fan want to see Godzilla blown up into a million pieces in a humiliating way. What BS. What audience would cheer for this other than 'woke' idiots who want to see fanboys get mad?
Don't watch this movie then.
This movie wasn't made for bigots like you, so get out of my way.
That is exactly my point. I went from excited to seeing this movie to not wanting to see it at all. This coming from a lifelong Godzilla fan who was in the theater watching this movies in the Showa Era. I will absolutely not be giving my money to the current woke ideology ever again.@@WakizashisTeahouse
I mean it's no different than being defeated by a giant Moth..
@@kornygerm Exactly!!! You get it... what Godzilla fan ever watches the end of Mothra vs. Godzilla? It's amazing how the critically acclaimed Godzilla movies are always the one's in which Godzilla suffers a humiliating defeat or dies. I'm not normally this outspoken online (but lately I have been) but the only times I hear about how good movies like that are come from anonymous comments online. No 'actual' fan I have ever spoken to ever wants to see Godzilla lose in a movie.
My friend spoilers don't face me like they use to to me experience watching the movie now that's face me now I want to watch it more also potential sequel which is not happening anytime soon
Thank you. I really want to go see it again.
Luck for us only one mouth is left@@WakizashisTeahouse also IMAX does not exist where i live sadly
Same for me. I would love to see it in IMAX.
Same tactic defeated the alien motherships in independence day
Good old Bill Pullman!
7:18 really you need to read more about what U.S.A. did to Japan even before the end of the second war. You're going to understand more why U.S.A. isn't the hero you all were waiting to be.
Nah, he's been almost universal hailed as scary. He's still Godzilla, not every scary Godzilla can or should be like Shin
I loved the Godzilla design in this movie. When he first appears at night it's really impactful.
lol. shin will always the GOAT godzilla... as his name states true godzilla.
but minus one gman aint bad. still scary.
@@ssppeeaarr Goat? It's literally one of the weakest Goji incarnations in terms of... well everything
No no no......Godzilla seems to only be some kind of organism. Almost the same as Shin Godzilla. This is basically another Godzilla vs the Humans. How many times are we going to see this from Japan. Gotta skip this one. I expected this, but thanks for the review.
You're welcome. The humans have to fight back, but in this movie they are at their lowest level.
I’m pretty sure that’s a whaling ship.
It wouldn't surprise me if it is. They repurposed it to catch mines.
@@WakizashisTeahouse All I know is that I can’t wait to see this movie!
