If you drill hole were the pad is at the bottom of tank then push a piece of 2.5mm cabel into it until it comes out of the filer cap then through the pipe, Nippl tying a knot and just pull it through slip nut on and that's it
Get a Y piece for the hot air outlet with butterfly valves in them so you can adjust/balance the heat. Had to fit one in our webasto as toilet got crazy hot in there😂
@ the only place I could find at a good price was on eBay from china. Tbf they came in about a week or so. Couple of UK places had em in stock at stupid prices mate.
Hi Will. All that heater for just £92. Only the Chinese could do that. Plenty of components to the overall system, dealing with the setup and install of each and finally having it all interconnected. Very satisfying. Knowing your scifi interest, the appearance of the display segments was reminiscent of the films called Predator. When thd alien set his wrist band to explode when he'd been mortally wounded!! Am I the only subscriber to spot that?😂😂😂. Regards. Paul. 👍👍
Morning Will 👋, that was really interesting, I love your problem solving skills. Bet you are so happy you sorted it ready for winter! Take care and keep warm 😊🤙
Hi Will, I know this was a while ago and you've probably done it by now but just a friendly reminder in case you haven't done it to cap that gas properly. I worked in the plumbing and heating trade for 2 decades and that's a guaranteed BSS fail.
Fab vlog as usual. One thing I would point out though. Your exhaust going vertical will allow condensation to run back into the heater. “you MUST install something at the low point in the exhaust to allow condensate to drain and prevent it from flowing back into the combustion chamber, or worse, blocking the exhaust while you are asleep and give you CO poisoning. Did you know that 1 gallon diesel produces ~1.03 gallons water when burned? Most is in the form of vapor but if you have a long exhaust through a cold area, a lot of it can condense into liquid water. “
Once again, I enjoyed watching you do something I wouldn't be able to fathom myself in a month of Sundays. My brain was a blur... but I understood "it's getting warm" and "time for a coffee" so all's well that ends well...😅🤣👏🙌 (oops, I've spoiler alerted myself now, Umberto!) 😅
I've watched some vlogs on burning waste oil. They went back to diesel because it's so dirty. It leaves tank sludge and extra soot in the combustion chamber. More than diesel but it ran hotter. Also everyone and their granny wants that oil. It's hard to get hold of locally. Good call though. Thanks
Hi will love watching you videos on your you and your antics on your narrow boat I lived down in the south coast of being trying to get my wife to instead of buying another house to buy narrow boats and or a narrow boat rather about a 50 foot and then two dogs do what you do live on it and the beer continuous Cruise and cruise around with none of us are getting any younger not just something I'd like to do before I die you have done a few things in my life in the Army being all over the note to drive got me nice and motorcycle buy certainly love your antique you make my day when I find you when you just posted new videos up thanks keep going mate
I lived in Bournemouth and the nearest canal was 50 miles away. I would go up to my boat on my days off to work on it. Then I decided to sell everything and get on with it before it's to late. Thanks for watching..
Morning Will, another fab video, another obscure tool, your grippy thing! I was at my mates a couple of days ago and he was impressed when I pointed out that I knew what his thread file was 😂, cheers will FFU.
Hi Will I hope the new heater is working and keeping you warm now the cold weather is here. If your Leon is still looking for a new boat there is a youtuber called May who has a raffle for her narrowboat worth £50,000 @ £5 a ticket. Take care.
Hi will what another brilliant interesting and informative video from you.. mate.. I have to take my hat off to you over the years you have shown that there is nothing you won't tackle. Yourself.. What I will say to you about the heater is you will find it a game changer.on board your boat.. The last boy I owned was fitted with two of these heaters. One at the front and one midship.. What I did notice was the condensation levels were reduced dramatically.. I. Only had one small problem with them which was keeping the pipework away from anything flammable . Will I have fitted my camper van with one of these and to be perfectly honest I have had to turn it off because of being to hot in the middle of the night.. I sometimes wonder why they are not fitted to every narrow boat. Anyway will as always keep yourself safe and well mate filthy thumbs up 👍 👍 👍.
Thanks Wayne. I will have a go at anything that I find interesting. Wait to see what I get upto next vlog. 😂 My heater is still working perfect. Very warm floor in my kitchen. I've tried to find flap vents but I can't get hold of any locally. Take care mate. 👍
Hey Will. You did check to see if the silencer had a drain hole, or not? ( Hand one end blow down the other)They normal do , and the first thing to do when fitting on a boat or anything without floor ventilation is to throw the thing away! I hope you don't, but you wouldn't be the first boater to kill themselves. That type of silencer is meant for under vans.
Hey Will Will Will Will Will Kerlang! That was my penny drop moment. I'm a freezing pensioner and I live in a small one bedroom bungalow. I'm wondering if a heater like your new one might offset against my gas bill favourably. All I'd need is a 12 volt transformer. I only need an outlet in my living room and maybe the bathroom as I like a cool bedroom and the kitchen would take care of itself. Waddya think mate? Loving the vlogs by the way and always look forward to the next. No pressure eh 😂 Keep warm and carry on
I've seen vlogs where people heat their homes. They put the 12v heater to a battery then run a 12volt charger to it. That safes inverting. They stick them outside and run ducting into their homes..
These gas heaters have a tendency i to catch fire Will, so make sure you have smoke detectors. And make sure the roof flue vent doesn't get snow blocked
Fitted a chinese diesel heater to our 58ft narrowboat, plumbed the fuel pipe into main boat diesel tank. Brilliant heaters and does the exact job of Webasto, Eberspacher etc for a fraction of the cost.
@NarrowboatWill yes, in engine bay with all upgraded marine fuel lines, silencer etc. Air intake pipe goes inside cabin inducing an already warmer air source. Easy install.
For the fuel tank feed nipple or whatever I use a meter and a quarter of dental floss with a small crimp on fishing weight and then I tied the other end to the fuel nipple the so come out the bottom of the tank and then I just you know, jiggle the tank the weight fell throughand then I just pulled the fuel nipple down through worked good less than 30 seconds once I had to line set up
Thanks for another cracking Vlog, Will. Basically, it's a diesel-fuelled fan heater? How much range does it have? How much of the boat will it heat up? So many questions!!!
@@NarrowboatWill Thanks. Looks like you did a good job with it. You have similar problem-solving mindset to me. As we used to say in the Submarine Service, Adapt, Improvise, Overcome 😃
Will good job I have fitted a lot of these just a few wee tips if you are going to use red diesel connect it to your main fuel tank if you like use heating oil it's cheaper cleaner and gives out more heat and put your wee tank at the back of the boat as well as the pump as the clicking will drive you nuts if you can suspend it with cable ties it's not so bad next put exhaust out side vent and put a heat shield cover over it it gets very hot and most important do away with the silencer box. As they leak straight pipe out you probably have figured this all out by now as you are a clever bloke
Great tips. I've fitted a super silent pump because it drove me nuts. Without the silencer it's really noisy. It does make a difference but I need to get a better one.
@NarrowboatWill it's that the seem of the silencer is bad if you get it welded round it's fine they leek co2 back into boat alls good will keep warm I'm off to my boat on Tuesday on lough erne to get antifreeze in and winterise it as we say here keep her lit

Not sure why you got a blown air version when you already have a system in place there for a water version to serve radiators and also heat your hot water when this was running. The exhaust silencer that comes with this blown air one must be outside the of the boat as there is a small hole in this for getting rid of any condensation as it’s designed for a vehicle and not for a boat so will be releasing CO into the boat from this small hole….not good!
