before you buy a pair of tire boots... please take a look at this video. I just do not think that Bottega Boots are worth the cost because they are not lasting and that really bothers me because I like the boot. I could see if these were work boots and not for vanity...but they are merely for fashion.

I know I'm hella late to this, but they looked like that because they are 100% calf leather and you need to moisturize them. All soft leather like that needs moisture, and if they had been sitting in a closet they probably got dry as fuck. Ur boots were literally ashy lmao. I def wouldn't recommend the clear sole tho, that's just another part that can age badly.
