- Ya, I don't love the way Pokemon has been treating mythicals/special event Pokemon these past few generations.

my theory is that they released Walking Wake and Iron Leaves this way because of the hype surrounding the time, and them when de DLC arrives they will have a story in the Area Zero, possibly with the rest of their respective trios.

The thing about events is that, we won't have events anymore because of the new DLC practices, and events were just DLC that most people couldn't get back in the day because either mom couldn't get them to download the data to the gamestop, or it was on specific countries out of reach.
Modern DLC on the other hand, they allow to expand the game a lot more than just a quick location that becomes irrelevant after the legendary is caught. Hell, the DLC Legendaries might as well be replacements to Mythical Pokemon now.
It's actually kind of insulting to me the way they released these legendaries. I get that mythicals have already been devalued to shit, but I didn't expect the treatment these are getting. Like you said, even Gen 8-a game widely criticized for its simplistic story-had story arcs for all of the legendaries it introduced: Kubfu, Calyrex, the legendary birds, and the Regis. But alternate form Suicune and Virizion are just ho-hum raid bosses? No, I'm sorry. That's just unacceptable. I've seen so many fan theories that are just the fanbase is grasping at straws to try and justify these two legendaries, because the games don't even do the bare minimum of explaining why they exist. Game Freak has made legendaries so worthless that they are reduced to a cheap attempt to grab the fans' attentions and pull them back to the game roughly halfway between the original release of the games and the upcoming DLC. This is a marketing ploy. And frankly, seeing the trajectory of how this franchise treats its fanbase, I think I'll go back to shiny hunting in Moon. I don't think I'm buying another Pokémon game.
I think we are going to get paradox forms for the rest of each legendary trio (Entei, Raikou, Cobalion, and Terrakion) then the combined pokemon seen in the books
