So true, when I was younger that would happen to me. I would come in a room smiling and friendly speaking to everyone that is how I was raised. Then you have that feeling and you can feel the air change in the room, like a six sense like okay I have to watch this person. So just watch what you say and do your job and keep it moving. Still speak even to that attitiude person but treat that person with a long handle spoon like my grandmother would say. Stay away from the gossip. I pray coming in to work and when I am going out from work. You will be covered and the angels will be looking out for you. I just keep in mid things happen for a reason. I didn't get this or that because it wasn't my time. What's for you is for you. So don't worry like the saying goes be careful what you ask for it. You didn't get it because it was not for you.

Patrice, that is why I wait until I get a position then I say something. The one that you think is your friend at work is not. That person can' t wait until you make a mistake and pretend to feel bad but in the mean time loving it. Because they say behind your back (oh good because she think she is perfect.) no one should think that in nursing. no one is perfect. So BE AWARE of the ones who always asking about your life or business. So that is why I just mind my own business because people are vindictive and jealous. I have decided no longer to work in the LTC setting too stressful and unsafe. I am going into the outpatient clinical setting. Working days now, to be off on the weekends and holidays. I can now spend time at family gatherings. Patrice you will get what your heart desire just leave it up to GOD. He knows our heart. So praying for you all healthcare.

Thank you. "vindictive and jealous." people can make your life hell. It's important to keep away... But you can't really. communication only about work, giving report, etc.

Hi Nurse Patrice. I’ve been following your channel for several years now. Thank you for putting out amazing content.
I want to share my story. Working in healthcare is my passion & purpose. I was an hha & college graduate who planned on applying to an RN program. I was in lpn school but quit due to issues with the program.
I was working as an hha and felt like I was stagnating career wise so I applied as a secretary & worked for a hospice co for 1 1/2 years. I got along w/nurses, my manager & staff on my team. I lost 148lbs so far. I was complimented daily from different people for my weight-loss & appearance.
Several women at my job have bullied, harassed & psychologically abused me including the patient care administrator. After being chewed out while my manager was on pto. I put in my 2 week notice. The tried so hard to make me look like the bad, problem person. The hostility made me decide not to pursue nursing. And it didn’t matter how nice or accommodating I was. Some of my friends/ colleagues were taking anti anxiety medication 💊. The field staff care for unreasonable amount of patients. One nurse had 15-18 patients that she had to drive around and see. As soon as I sent the email 8 of the staff told me positive things, hugged me & were very positive.
It makes me sad. Management & upper management doesn’t seem to care at all about making patients comfortable & they don’t respect or pay staff & overload to make $$$$$. It makes me so sick 🤢 because they have zero humanity but they work in healthcare. This is not what I was raised with.

A nurse referred me for a position and then she turned on me once I started working side by side with her. We were both MDS Coordinators working in the same office at the same nursing home. We had known each other three years before that position. She started giving me the silent treatment.

Well I’m getting into it. It is very rewarding and I can advance and do Esthetics or open up my own Hydration spa. Plus, there’s legal Nursing, my friend does Botox only and makes $5K a week. There’s also Forensic and over 100 different nursing careers. My sister loves her nursing job and all she does is vital signs at the gym making $100/ hour. I can’t wait to be a nurse and be a millionaire. California nurses at Kiser make over $100/ hour. There’s always a cruise nurse.
