Josh Harbord Basically the same, though I was 13. We moved to Tampa (Riverview, in specific) in the summer of 2003. We boarded up the house, got clean water in the tubs and tons of supplies, and just stayed at home as there wasn't an emergency evacuation and we were in a (more) sturdy house. Thankful that it shifted at the last minute, anyway, because even the sturdier houses could very well be affected by a major hurricane. No one was immune.

If there was a massive evacuation, why was there a moderate amount of traffic going the opposite way?

I was almost 7 years old when Charlie hit. My momma and her husband at the time decided to turn back around at midnight and go back home 😂
Also isn't this the causeway from Clearwater and such?
