- Hello and welcome to my channel. I am a train enthusiast located in Victoria, Australia and just want to share some of my journeys with RUclips. Please feel free to Comment your opinions and Subscribe to my channel :)
In this video, we get to ride a Comeng to East Pakenham. Unlike last time where we could only see outside the first Comeng at East Pakenham, this time we got to go inside. It was a lovely sunset ride. So much so, a rainbow appeared to signify the rarity. Hope you enjoy the video!
It does a better job at displaying the destination than the HCMT
Undeniable. The HCMT's do an atrocious job at displaying the destination names (I live along the Mernda line and have taken the Pakenham line every now and again and I remember when we got Comeng trains on the South Morang (Now Mernda line). I just wish that one day we can get Siemens trains on the Clifton Hill group - I've put in a request to PTV to make this happen).
@@thunderturbine8860it won't happen. The x'trapolis were on that line from day one and because the sides were split during early privatisation, that never really changed because you've got to do work to get them to run. The one exception to this was when they got rostered onto the Frankston line and later Cross City Group, because they started to order two many of them. The Siemens however are a very small fleet compared to the rest, and the plan I believe is to run them all on the Werribee/Williamstown-Sandringham line once the Metro Tunnel opens. They're also quite wide, so I'm pretty sure you'd have to shave platforms to make sure they wouldn't clip anything. Which they did when they tested them on the Burnley Group a few years back.
It is kinda funny how it went from chasing the HCMTs on the Pakenham line to chasing the comeng and siemens trains instead
100%
The regular commuters would have seen a guy with a camera and thought what happened to our HCMT
Lol
First Comment wish this will be permanent
Insane having a comeng running on the Pakenham line first time for it having it in service for the east pakenham line Siemens should run on the line too
Ah the beautiful Comeng train ❤One of my childhood favorites (The other one is the Siemens train)
0:20 Holy cow those PID's tho, might need to put an photosensitive warning on ya video! Ahaha but great video as always =]
Wonder if you might know why this Comeng has the voice announcer thats usually in the X'Trapolis trains but the HCMTs have the voice announcer in the old Comengs that sounds really grainy
When was this? I swear on AnyTrip a few days ago I saw an Alstom comeng service to East Pakenham
Friday 20th September, 2024
That’s when I took the screenshot, so that would be correct!
I hope you do a easy pakeham service announcements video
They really need to preserve some comeng sets at Pakenham East depot
The old comeng announcement will never be beaten
It's good that the first ever Alstom Comeng ran with passengers to East Pakenham station happened last week on Friday. EDI have done that a few days after. Not sure when Siemens should run up to East Pakenham. Thank you.
few days before you mean?
Out of curiosity, how exactly do you find out about this ahead of time enough to catch these services? I would love to catch one before they are all gone! (This question applies to the many odd trains you seem to catch 😊 )
Yeah I really want to know too
probs socials and south yarra webcam
@@Nevergonnagiveyouup504 yeah probs
@@Nevergonnagiveyouup504 but that doesn’t explain how he can get there on time
@@Cmoose i check transport vic me then webcam so thats why i caught it expressing towards city
No way!!! What an awesome surprise. I was thinking it may have just been a matter of time before this happened, and I'm so glad I was right. Shame it wasn't an EDI Comeng though, and shame you couldn't get that one from earlier in the week, but still, it was a Comeng nonetheless, which is something to celebrate. Hope you were able to get the announcements for a separate video.
Thanks. Also, announcements have been recorded for Pakenham and East Pakenham!
7:38 what is the "beep beep, beep beep" noise coming from the cab, I've noticed all trains make that noise
That's the DTRS, when a driver cuts a cab into service or inputs the run number it makes this noise.
Itt's validating the TDN request, and setting the train into a state that tells Metrol it's in service under that run number.
As mentioned in the other comment, That's what it is
How awesome. Wish they were still our regulars…..
there was one before that which was an edi. i caught it a few stops after you got off
also it recieeved door upgrades
Has an EDI Comeng or a Siemens ever been to East Pakenham
an edi has been but not siemens
EDI yes. A Siemens has been to Pakenham East Depot before East Pakneham Station opened
