  • We can use either the cat6 cable or fiber optical cable to link two network switch. One of the advantages of fiber optical cable is its fast speed. In this video, you will see how to link two network ports together to achieve 2G bandwidth between the switches. You even can connect more ports in parallel to achieve fast speed. While multiple links are aggregated, it has redundant connection. One of the ports goes down will not cause the disconnection of the network.

    Hi !
    I need to connect two switches that are 100m away from each other. The fiber cable is a 12 strand OM3. Should I match 2 colors for the strands , make the LC a connectors on each end and connect the SFP adapters in both ends ?

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  11 месяцев назад

      It depends on the SFP transceivers you have. If it is the BiDi transceiver, you just need single strand. Otherwise, cross connect two strands on both ends.

    How to configure manageable switches plz

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  8 месяцев назад

      You can either go through the console port which need to send the command to the switch or you can use the web browser built-in the switch to configure the switch. The manual will tell the default IP address of the web browser. You might need to set the IP address of your computer to match the subnet before you can access the web browser. Follow the manual to configure the switch since each producers could have different command set, but the general logic are pretty much the same.

    i have two manageable switch with sfp port.can i connect two switch using sfp with fibre cable and pass 4 vlan between them

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, the VLAN is L2 protocol. You can set 4 different VLAN to divide the network into 4 sections. Just make sure you have set the SFP ports to trunk, but not access port.

    Hello can i use two multi-mode sfp to connect to two switch between them?

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  9 месяцев назад

      Yes, it'll work. However, the distance between the switches will determine whether multi-mode fiber is the best choice for your setup. Multi-mode fiber is typically used for shorter distances, up to a few hundred meters, whereas single-mode fiber is designed for longer distances, up to several kilometers. If the distance between your switches is greater than a few hundred meters, you may want to consider using single-mode fiber instead. Also, be sure to check the specifications of your switches and SFPs to ensure that they are compatible with each other. Some switches may require specific types of SFPs, so it's important to verify compatibility before making your purchase.

    I have two different company switch how to configure switch to switch two fiber cable plz help.

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  Год назад +1

      If there is unmanaged switch, you don’t need to configure the switch. Physically link two switch will be fine. If it is the managed switch, you might need to set the subnet to put two switch in same subnet. Of cause, you also can configure the VLAN to divide the broadcast domain.

    Haw i can conect 8 or 10 switch on serial whith fiber .tnx

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  8 месяцев назад

      You might want to pick the switch which support ERPS. Daisy chain all these switches and connect the last one to the first one. Basically you can set two fiber optic cable. One for the daisy chain, and another one for link the first switch and the last switch. Just make sure the ERPS is on, otherwise, it will create broadcast storm, and the topology will not work.

    I am facing the same problem in my system there where 10 poe switches i connected all poe switch in series with use of LIU the loop will start from one switch and it ends with same switch it is like a ring network. When i connecting one end of the fiber optic cable in the sfp the camera getting online and when i connecting the another end of the cable then the video getting paused it was not showing anything in the monitor. Can you h ELP to resolve this problem

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  8 месяцев назад

      It wll not work unless your switch support ERPS - ring topology. While you connect the last switch to the first one, it create broadcast storm, and the resource will be used up. The ERPS can detect the redundant link and set it standby. While the primary link is broken, it will switch the connection to backup link.

    Bro i need to solution,
    Repeater router to other router how to connect WiFi services though lan cable

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  Год назад

      There are several ways. The cable connection is most simple and reliable solution. If the distance is beyond 100 meters, you can use PoE extender or fiber optic cable. The wireless bridge or the mesh network could be the solution as well. It depends on the situation.
