We were there last year and we sat out in the grass near the Smithsonian Metro station. We had a great view and quick easy access to the train afterward. This year will be no different.
I live pretty close to the Netherlands Carillon so I'm going to walk over there tonight to watch the fireworks. First time seeing the DC fireworks show in person. Can't wait!
Thanks for the great recommendations. We ended up going to the GW Parkway to watch the fireworks. It was great and so much easier to navigate the Metro afterwards compared to prior years when I went to the National Mall.
@Trip Hacks DC are there restrictions regarding chairs at the Jefferson memorial? I'm not seeing anything through the NPS website either generally or specifically for the memorial. Any insight is appreciated. Thank you!
From the prohibited items list: Props and displays, such as coffins, crates, crosses, theaters, cages, and statues; furniture and furnishings, such as desks, chairs, tables, bookcases, cabinets, platforms, podiums and lecterns; shelters, such as tents, boxes and other enclosures; wagons and cars, podiums, and platforms, and folding chairs. (Wheelchairs in active use by disabled people, prams, bicycles and small umbrellas are not included) www.nps.gov/subjects/nationalmall4th/prohibited-items.htm
The full list of prohibited items includes: -Alcoholic Beverages -Aerosols -Ammunition -Balloons -Explosives -Firearms -Fireworks -Glass containers -Laser Pointers -Mace/Pepper Spray -Structures (folding tables, chairs, tents, etc.) -Supports for signs -Unmanned Aerial System (Drones, Remote Control Aircraft) -Weapons of Any Kind -Any other item determined to be a potential hazard *Packages are permissable, but subject to inspection
I live in DC. This year, I chose the Jefferson Memorial. Way too much walking. Blocks to the viewing area. After the show, I ended up walking clear to NE DC because the metros were insanely crowded. I've been to Rosslyn. It's a nice view, but The monuments are far away, so the Iwo Jima is best to have in the foreground. I like things framing my photos. I think the museum area looked great, too. Since I ditched the heavy equipment and started using my phone, the results are much better.

Sounds great!
Great video. Are there restrooms at the Netherlands Carallon?
It's a little further away but there's a nice view from Meridian Hill park also
I did that one when I was younger and it was too far away for my taste.
Great video, I live here and still enjoyed your video. Thanks
Great vdo ever
Rob, see you on June 30 for our tour! We can't wait! How would we find out what is permissible to take in to one of the secured locations?
At the end of June they will update the official NPS dot gov website with all of this year's information.
Great video! You said the Iwo Jima Memorial is very close to Netherlands Carillon. Is the Iwo Jima Memorial also a good place to view the fireworks?
Yes it's a similar view
Thanks Rob
Sure thing.

You still have to show up early when watching the fireworks from a boat. Those spaces fill up fast.
Hi sir, If we're from Maryland what is the best place to view the Fireworks from ?
Where do you recommend parking at the Netherlands Carillon?
Don't drive on the 4th ruclips.net/video/kdBjvjhCUzw/видео.html
What time do you think someone should go to claim their spot at either the bells or near the museums?
An hour probably.
The safe always wishes peacefully independence day full Joy 😊💖
Is there a place that’s good for younger kids? Mostly hoping to find a place with guaranteed bathrooms nearby! lol
Are folding chairs allowed in the secure zone?

There are portable toilets at all the National Mall spots.
