Remember. Gambia banned western election monitors from medilling the process. to show an African nation can hold free and fair election. where everyone's vote is counted and not electoral college system. President Yahya deserves to be soluted for not influencing and humbly accepting the defeat.
Abdirahman Siyaasi All those smiles and jokes are fake. He's ashamed of himself and choiceless thus the reason he is acting like this. At the beginning he refused to concede defeat and was threatening the IEC chairman. We should be grateful to some of our gallant soldiers who put their lives on the line to protect the IEC chairman throughout the counting period. The IEC chairman had to call the US embassy in Banjul to explain that Jammeh had lost the election and is threatening his life. This was the reason results announcements were being delayed. The US embassy had to call president Buhari of Nigeria, former president Obasanjo and former UN Secretary general Kofi Annan to prevail on him to accept the results. He was still proving to be a hard nut to crack but Kofi Annan insisted and assured him that his safety will be secured if he steps down peacefully. That was when Jammeh decided to accept the results and the IEC chairman made the announcement.
#Kunta. African Dictators and incumbents don't go that much easy, unless there's a military intervention and the Country goes into chaos and civil war. by accepting to step down even if there was a pressure shows he can be a role model for other bad dudes. like #Teodoro of E. Guinea, #Mugabe, Zimbabwe. #Paul, Cameroon, #M7, Uganda, #Idriss, Chad. etc.
proud to Gambia people...it's end of dictatorial "Era".next is Zimbabwe,Uganda
