Couple of my favorite outdoor people here! This trail has special meaning to me since you introduced it to me but also since I saved a lost hiker the first time I hiked this great memories.

@@HikeOregon I went back with my son yesterday! In spite of our attempt to beat the incoming rain being completely foiled (forecast said it wasn't supposed to start until 2, but literally started right as we were leaving the trailhead at 9:30) and getting absolutely soaked, we LOVED the hike! So peaceful and beautiful. We went about 3.5 miles and stopped at a beautiful spot by the creek to make a hot drink and eat lunch in the pouring rain before turning back. Both we and our gear got soaked, but it turned out to be a good test of our gear, and we were mostly dry by the time we got back to the car. It was such a lovely, quiet day, and we were treated to seeing geese flying around the edge of the reservoir back at the trailhead before we left for home. My son is talking about taking his little brother to that little campsite there for a little "intro to backpacking" trip he wants to do with him!
The water color suggests copper. Is there mining nearby?
Possibly. I am honestly not sure.
I've hiked parts of that trail! We've gone all the way back to where the lake becomes a creek and then some, but we weren't sure where it ended up, so we turned around. Very pretty. Thanks for sharing it!
