How hard was it to replace the exhaust? I have a "71 500 with a 650 engine and the weld is broken on one of the pipes. It's currently a stock exhaust but I want to upgrade to one like yours. Did you replace the manifolds and/or gaskets? Any broken studs? Also, what is the sequence when bolting all of the joints together?
It's pretty easy, just take out the metal heat shield, lift the rear about a foot higher, then a few nuts and two brackets and finding the right angle to get it in/out are all you deal with. I haven't had the manifold elbows off, I have had a LOT of problems with the studs and nuts on them stripping and coming loose.
@@awcole86 I just did a bit of gas flowing and matched all the joints,no shoulders, but standard exhaust. I tuned a mini once the same way got 95mph out of a 1100cc Cooper engine.
I was able to get a very good deal on a "sport/race" engine for 1300 euros. In addition to the engine, it has electronic ignition and a 5th gear added to a 126 (synchro) transmission. You can see details abo it all of it in my other videos if you'd like!

Will you consider getting a wide body in the future, maybe fitting in a wider tire?

I modified a 126 synchro gearbox using a 5th gear kit from D'Angelo Motori. In my channel I have a video on the whole procedure!

Hi, what about noise? Is it much noisy than original one ?
The tone has a little more low rumble sound, but if it is louder than not by much at all.
Is this still a 499cc or is it a 126 engine?
It is a modified 126 engine, 700cc. The video on the engine swap is in the same video series if you'd like to see it!

I put a standard 650 engine in my 1967 it did 85mph ,good for commuting.
I strongly suspect that is not an ordinary 650 engine! Very nice!

Perché non hai optato per uno scarico in acciaio inox ? Secondo me va molto meglio uno scarico altri prestazioni viste le modifiche che hai apportato
Mi piacciono le punte cromate e il suono di questo scarico. Solo la mia preferenza personale.
