ptdiamonds ptdiamonds I got started by building e-commerce sites, then moved to automating the backend for those same customers, to actually specializing in automation software which allowed me to branch out into a bunch of different things. I think what you’re talking about as far as certs goes is the CompTia path. I have degrees in both Graphic Design and Computer Science but only worked in those fields for a few years before my kids were born. Because BOTH my kids needed special care, it wasn't possible for my husband and I to work full-time jobs anymore. On a whim, I started a commercial cleaning business and it's been about 10 years and it makes $120,000 a year. It took a while to reach that level, but at least I can provide a decent life for my family and still have a flexible work schedule. I figure that I can always do projects on the side so that my brain doesn't turn to clay.
@@Raze120 Well I definitely tried, but the competition for freelance graphic artists is ridiculous, and finding freelance programming jobs was nearly impossible. Sometimes you can have the best laid out plan and all the cards you thought you had are thrown in the air. I always encourage others to consider learning a trade. Do stuff no one else wants to do. Marcel Rodriguez never that. We do a lot of commercial business and automotive. Our prices are way cheaper than car dealer prices and as of commercial there’s a lot of money in it. Asbestos is expensive because of lawyers. It's quite a racket. One guy I knew did some of that. Another high paying gig I've wanted to try when living up north was snow removal for businesses. My dad managed a uhaul up in NH and every November the plow companies would put in bids to keep the lot clean during biz hours. They'd sign a contract for a set price no matter how much or how little it snowed. That particular year it only snowed twice. The contract was for 30k. The guy put in maybe 2 hours of plow work for $30k. He did horrible job too. Didn't want to scrape the ground with his plow and wear it out and didn't get close to the storage units leaving about a foot of snow in front of everyones door and was usually really late. The store opened at 7am and he didn't show up to plow till like 10am because he was so swamped with other plow gigs. I already have experience renovating houses and have a large number of contractors I can call up. Thank you again for all the content you put out!
If you go into the trades. Stay away from trades that require a licence such as Electricians, Plumbers, and HVAC unless you get into the union. Non union companies give you the run around on getting you the hours you need. It'll take you 7 years to get a licence that should take you 3-4. Beware

Installing windshields don’t work for the big companies go with the subcontractors who will train you and eventually you get your own tools and van then just get a business LLC and done! Now you can start making bank! I think he said if you’re good with your hands you can learn in about 6 months
I have been trying to get an Auto Glass company going in Florida, but seems to be a lot of competition. My partner and I (I am the installer/tech) have had no luck getting business. Any tips on marketing/advertising?
0:57 My uncle worked at a Nuclear power plant, right out of the Navy (no nuclear experience there to my knowledge.) Back then there were entry level jobs, my grandma helped him get his foot in the door. He rose up and became somewhat rich. He told me to look for a job with my local utility company, but they want degrees for most jobs; it's not easy like it was 40 years ago (still hard work back then, but without degree req.)
Is your uncle Homer Simpson?
Great video. Recommendations not commonly heard from others.
thanks!
Anything blue collar honestly less and less people are doing it making it more sought after in the future
So true. Less and less people know how to sew, so that'a what I do. $400 in an afternoon for curtains.
Yup, 100percent agree.
@@Wrightinottaw interesting, you do custom orders or just curtains. Social media to advertise? Do you scale at all?
His tie being off center is messing with me...
I’m a data scientist (basically a mix between a statistician and programmer) and I also just became an AWS Cloud Practitioner and I’m working on the AWS Machine Learning Specialty. Cloud computing is just using someone else’s computer, in this case you use Amazon’s really high powered computers and storage. It’s the future, and it’s very new so you can become an expert before anyone else. You can certainly make $130k+ pretty soon without a degree but you will need some experience in addition to the certification to get there. The certs teach you very valuable skills but I would study some programming or IT security or something... if I knew this leaving high school I would’ve learned programming and AWS the summer after HS and started working in IT or programming the following year instead of (or in addition to) college

Thanks for this!!!! I currently really dislike my job so definitely going to research the AWS thing
nice!
My friend is an electrician with less than a year experience, got a job setting up a UPS factory as a temp, works 70 hours a week and makes over 3.5k a week ^___^
Does he work as an electrician and at ups?
@@ChrisInvests na he's an electrician for a temp company that hires for a company that UPS contracted like a half billion dollars with to set up a HUGE distribution plant for them in CO

I used to do the first job as an consultant. There’s high margin in it the only problem is that it’s a dying industry since nobody uses lead/ asbestos in buildings anymore so just keep that in mind.
Jonathan Sorunke i didn’t think of that. Good point.
Funerals are a dying industry too
There are guys who specializes in future damaged properties and invest in the same..
Once again ..I adore you !! Thank you for everything you do
One of your best videos kevin
Commission income is the best and fastest . Way to increase you’re income
Not necessarily. It depends which jobs and depending the percentage of commission
Id love to see a video of you letting us know how you get that drive to keep pushing so hard all the time man.
Definitely looking into option #3! Thanks Kevin!
If you're planning to go the cloud route Kevin is right. learn to code as cloud is all about automation. I would suggest Python programming as it is easy to learn. Also being multi cloud certified ( big 3 - AWS, GCP, Azure) will push your value even higher.
Thank you!
Being a contractor for the city is where the real money is. Every linear meter of curb pays about $100. In a day with a 5 man crew you could easily do 100m. Profit margins are about 40% even if you are sub contracting off a larger company. So $4000 profit a day
Good luck landing that gig 😁
Sir may I ask how you know that? I’d like to hear more. And or how to get started/foot in the door
100 bucks I still wouldn’t want to dig the ditch but we would start talking ditch size . 👍🏽
Love your videos. I have been watching them for months.. now have a plan to excel in my career and life thank you
On that Matterport 360 camera idea...along with purchase of the camera, is there a rendering subscription involved? If so do you have any idea on how much that service will be?

I'm a renter right now and I find you a gold mine of info!! (Please go easy on your tenants 🙂)
I love the skills I have learned in sales! They transition to all areas of life
where did you work to gain sales experience?
Sales got me out of my shy shell.
Any book or knowledge bank you can suggest?
This is great info!
Dang, this is super interesting!!
When you buy real estate for 0-10% down isn’t that kind of over leverage it or can you do it since you make a lot of sales in real estate
AV Technician you can make about 75k a year! with no College degree Or high school! You just need to know your cables! The hours are terrible though
Are av techs taking on IoT stuff? If seen lock smiths doing it
I average close to that pre-tax as a barber. I rent a space cheap and charge 45-60 per cut. You just have to be really good at one thing that people are willing to pay a premium for if done right.
Power lineman hands down best job without a degree 200k a year of you like to work OT. All the jobs he must have what I’d factors. Lineman you get called you work you get paid
Dangerous and work in very crappy weather
what do you need to start?
@smithmma717 the job is dangerous right?
Thanks Man
1. Car salesman
2. Realtor
3. Walmart store manager (takes more than a day though)
4. Business owner.
Very good video, very informational
Thank you!!
Its impossible to get on as an operator at any plant especially here in Houston, last I applied for and got to test over 5k people tested for 25 positions at Valero refinery, after this they, plants, hire who ever they want, it was a waste of time getting the process technology degree, I only know 4 people you got jobs after graduation, so I moved on no point if people friends are getting hired or hiring somebody who works at a grocery store and doesnt know anything about the industry
This is the reason why there are so many billion and hundred million dollar summer sales companies here in Utah
I made 159k last year installing cable for Verizon. And on track to make about 120k this year. Fuck college. It’s all a scam....
Niiice!
Where are you installing... Interesting..

I removed Mold with homemade UV lamp this lamp can cause second degree burns in 2 minutes so used long wire to turn it on.
Did you do it commercially or did you do it to deal with a mold problem that you were having.
These are not stay at home mommy jobs
Your Setup is INSANE
Hahaha bf just started to construction sales. It took him a while to get the sales pitch down, but he also just cleared like 10K in commission in a week. Can't complain he needed something to keep him out of the house that made good money.
Can I ask the market.. Considering the same. Works love to review pitches...
AWESOME!
Kevin I like that video you put together regarding your high tech camera you use to map properties. That camera looks like a gem and well worth it.
Hello Kevin! Question... I'm very interested in knowing what type of license I may need, to be able to find and market these renovation jobs. I live in TX. Do I need a General Contractor license? I already have experience renovating houses and have a large number of contractors I can call up. Thank you again for all the content you put out!
How much do u make
If you go into the trades. Stay away from trades that require a licence such as Electricians, Plumbers, and HVAC unless you get into the union. Non union companies give you the run around on getting you the hours you need. It'll take you 7 years to get a licence that should take you 3-4. Beware
thats because they want to extort and take advantage of you
Interesting, tell me more... I'm about to head inti HVAC, commercial preferably... I'm in Philadelphia
Replace AWS with cloud infrastructure
It's a 14 minute video, at the 10 minute point, it's already been interrupted by ads 3 times, 2 of which were 6 minutes long! I don't want to watch a video that's twice as long because of ads Kevin.

Thinking about crime scene cleanup..😂
haha not a bad idea!
Smart! I bet that pays a lot!
It does pay a lot actually. You’d be surprised. Once a crime scene has been cleared, the clean up responsibility is left to whomever the owner is. It’s kind of sad, especially in suicide and drug overdose situations.
cheryl campbell I found a job listing for that and they were paying much.
Nice video kevin.. How do you get started on tbe 1st one if you dont know anything about construction?
I have a contractor friend I could maybe work for to learn. This doesn't require debt but there are some barriers to entry. I liked the video.
If I wanted to start my own company. How would I go about learning to do it? Looking forward to some insight
Just become an electrician they are the doctors in the construction field & you’ll be able to do all kinds of side work it’s limitless
Builder
Realtor
Inspector appraiser

How tf do you start wedge (I've dealt with dry wall) as far as learning everything in general
Selling vacations is rly easy cause every one with money have a dream of the grass is greener on the other side @Meet Kevin
How much money have you made doing that?

Hi Kevin, I need some study guide to get my brokers license, I'm already a license in 3 states. Autos sales folks make up to six figures with benefits?
I know body shop painters who make $150k
Not the typical body shop though, thats for high end cars.
