The finest author of his genre and the wonderful Robert Hardy narrating. The Aubury, Maturin books are my most favorite reading. The finest writing of its kind.
It's a very good audio book reading... However, the photo of "Patrick O'Brian" is of someone Decades Younger than the O'Brian who 1st published "Master and Commander" in England, 1969... (photo 1920-30s?) I met O'Brian, NYC 1991 at a book signing. He was in his 70s... As well, there is some legitimate doubt for the identity of the reader; Hardy?, Jerrom?, or Tull?

Incredibly enjoyable. Thanks.
Thanks x2. For great story and a real English narrator. 😊
Read not only by a real person, but done excellently by a professional, somewhat famous actor!!
Nope. It's RicJerrom, not Hardy.
What an extraordinary performance.
Something amiss…. Either an issue with the compression or that is NOT Robert Hardy narrating.
Bravo Siegfried

The narrator is not Robert Hardy, it's RicJerrom.
Your right 👍🏻
Both have recorded it. This sounds like Hardy, and Amazon lists his version as available.
@@Tyrannocaster I know they have and it most definitely is not Hardy.
Funny, at 2:35:30, Admiral Lord Keith speaks with a German accent??? hah.
