right next to fishing village on the beach is peak for me. playing solo or duo i will build several small bases around and fish in the safe zone, constant free scrap and it looks like lots of random people living there. very rarely get raided and my loot is spread out so even when i do it barely matters.
This is the best tip. Even playing on a monthly I will build only 2x1's. My main base will be a compounded 2x1 with externals tc's to prevent griefing. And then 4-5 2x1 flank bases with a locker, bed, and barrel as close to main as I can place without overlapping respawns. People generally get raided because they are seen running into their main base after killing a more geared player. Running into a fob keeps "main" safe.
My favorite location is a cliff just before snow starts and near forest. Most players will be in forest and wont see your base on cliff side. And those who farm sulfur, they will be in snow most of time and rarely go down a cliff. It does have to be a area with almost no mouments near it. (and roads) Also for my farm basses where i temp store scrap and materials i get on road its build as cheap as possible and make to look like roleplaying base. A basic 2x1 and outside is like some type of wooden farmhouse with chairs and tablet and maybe some type of bin outside where i trow crap in. And players loot this crap and do cleaning for me instead :D If by a miracle i managed to secure a cave, i will take over all the areas inside it to prevent any other player from settling inside. But unlike other players that just build a wall to secure the base, i generaly use traps in cave base. Pressure pads on bear rugs are very effective as you can set up a turrent to turn on when some1 steps on it.
@Bullminator there are no guarantees for not being raided, regardless of base location. I build on the coast out of the way of most players. Fortify the foundations to metal or hqm. Duke of Boots has a star shell base that I've reworked into something more utility based. Oil refineries, garden, fish traps, vending machine, shore and ocean entrances, vending machine bunker, composter, research table, computer station, repair bench, Tier 3 work bench, furnaces, locker and enough storage for a solo. Use a diving kit and that new water vehicle to get to and from fishing village quickly.
@@RapFa-Hater420 who said anything about spawn beach? You can load up from there and head to the desert, build a simple 1×1 fish farm, stock up on resources, then head anywhere else and either build another 1x1 or something more complex on the coast. Coastal bases are out of the way, even for sub raids and if the owner is efficient with their loot, then these bases, although cheap to raid, are rarely worth the time.
Video suggestion: Game modes Main points (example): Difference between playing vanilla, basic modded (2x no trash), highly modded, clan servers (aka mainscene), events (mass participation like global warfare), creative, battlefield, piloting, minigames, aimtrain etc etc When to play the modes (ex: start by playing 2-3x, while training on aimtrain and battlefields, once better at the game switch to vanilla to learn gamesense) Good server for each mode What each mode provides you with and which has the most fun for what type of players
Hey pookie :* if you need some video ideas ive got some (mainly about building) 1. bunkers guide, 2. peaks guide (like, wide gaps and wall peaks and stuff) anyways love you
maybe a video about how to do the fishing in ur base u mentioned in the video since i cant figure out how to make it profitable because too much trash u just run out of fish and end up with a pile of trash
*With all the new terrain x-ray exploits, it kind of doesn't matter where you base anymore. Everything is vulnerable to x-ray glitch now which defeats the purpose of creative building.*
Yeah, the tax really does make it hard to justify. However, the other amenities such as early LVL 1 workbench, oil refinery, drones, and trading does still make it worthwhile living nearby.
While all of these tips are decent enough, they dont compare to just quitting your job, stop talking to friends and family and live on state welfare programs. Now you can stay online all the time, which is the greatest preventor from beeing raided!
0:50 This is just blatantly false. Look, I like some of your content, but some of what you say seems like it was ripped from some sort of article written by someone who’s never played the game. Typically, when you spawn in, you want to move into the map into the tier 2/3 areas. There are far fewer players there that vary in terms of skill and gear. A lot of players don’t have the patience or the luck to make it further into the map, hence there being less competition overall. The starter zone typically has big bases that were established early in wipe by mid/large player groups that prioritize getting a base down asap rather than finding an ideal spot to set down a base, and they’re typically highly geared players. Then there’s a bunch of smaller established groups with bases in the starter zone. Point is, the tier 1 region is chock full of players and bases and if you’re just starting out, chances are anyone with a base is going to outcompete you for resources and PvP. Hence, move to the tier 2/3 regions.

Ohh some good ideas, cheers for sharing. Also, 100% agree with the snow-forest border base.
No monuments no roads near, how are u supposed to get scrap and resources???
@@Cenajohn654 You only need stone and wood to start.
You make a crappy 2by1 near those areas. You want your main base to be hidden.
@@Bullminator you have your base down now what u start making long runs for resources?
The coast is the best place for starters. Early and easy access to fish traps which equals scrap, armor, tools and weapons.
Depends. If you have a base to close, people will just come with boat, raid your base and leave. Its better to have it at least on top of cliff.

I hate people who build on spawn beach , if i get loaded im raiding everyone on that coast line

I like to park a motor boat too. Great for sea access

i didn't know that you can build a base inside a cave. don't even know if there's a cave in the game. when is this? i'm new to rust pc from console

How to be successful at Wipe Day and not die over and over
6:03 i built in the second floor but i cant reach surface with wiring tool, any tips?
Try place the battery as close to the roof as possible ?
Make sure you have the right cave (Small hard, or the silo variant) but still sometimes the terrain can mess up the electricity
@@DraXaly i tried the cable ends before reaching the cave itself, bad terrain rng i guess
I have to be honest. I never recycle in safe zone anymore. The safe zone tax is to high.
