I love how Stephen asked Potter-verse specific question instead of more general press junket interviewer standard type of questions about the film. I know he's known for being an LOTR geek but I don't know he's very knowledgeable about Potter-verse too... Or maybe he just did his research. Either way, I'm very impressed! And Eddie's answer also makes it fun. "SILENCIO!" Hahaha.

I am not a huge Potterhead so I don't have all the backround info but I thought its main purpose was to defend yourself against dementors
LeaLikesIcecream that is absolutely true. Voldemort did not create or discovered dementors though, they allied with him on his second rise to power, but were originally on the side of the ministry of magic (remember, they used to guard Azkaban)

Can we take a moment to appreciate how unabashedly geeky Stephen is (thankfully not just about LOTR). He asks questions that Potter fans actually want to know instead of acting like most interviewers who either have a very limited knowledge of the world Rowling created or assume their audience does and therefore ask questions like "Wow magic was that cool? how'd you find working with a green screen? How was J.K. Raaaawling?" at which point i wanna punch them. He's also very kind and seems to be genuinely interested in Eddie and enjoying his awkwardness

Stephen happens to be such a huge Harry Potter fan, or as we call ourselves, pottheads. Sorry, potterheads XD (I was quoting Stephen, actually). Still, it's so awesome to see two big Harry Potter fans discusing wands, patronuses and charms. I love them both

I know they don't work for everyone, but you know, on the off chance.
I doubt they really work. As far as I understand, colour blindess is caused by a lack of a specific cone cell either not working properly or not being there at all. The glasses do, I believe, saturate the colours that we see.

Eddie's not just a brilliant actor but he sings with timbre and feeling, is charmingly humble and down-to-earth, completed his Bachelors degree (in Art History) at Cambridge so is intelligent and appreciates creativity, loves the world of Harry Potter - which is great for someone playing Newt who actually cares about the world of the films - has skills in actual magic/Illusionism, and is such a diverse actor, starring in everything from the iconic HP films to 'The Danish Girl', as Stephen Hawkins in 'The Theory Of Everything' , Les Misérables, Colin Clarke in 'My Week with Marilyn'. He's very talented an endearing to watch.

OMG saw the movie today I was extremely skeptical going into it. However I absolutely adored it, the costumes were on point. The actors were spectacular, Eddie red Maine is now one of my favorite actors. And spoiler alert Johnny Depp was flawless
