Owl spotting (fail), Cats killing mice.

Heard the owls and went looking w/ camera in hand, once again I did not actually see them. I think one was right above me in the big oak tree. They used to nest in an old dead tree years ago but it fell over and I have not seen them since. But I hear them sometimes. I did see Syd with a dead mouse and then Trigger got outside and bagged himself one. It may be the same one but I did I not see him with it when he went in the woods. I also got a lot of mosquito bites. I think those are Barred owls, "Who cooks for you? Who cooks for you-all?" call. But I have seen what might be Long-eared owls in the area. Can't say for sure as they just don't like being seen.
