- Welcome back to my channel! In today's tutorial, I'll be guiding you through the process of creating a minimalist mixed media artwork using just a few acrylic colors, gold spray paint, and some simple tools. This piece is inspired by the texture and design of old hydraulic tiles, bringing a touch of vintage charm to contemporary art.
What you'll learn in this video:
Prepping your canvas with a thin layer of joint compound or modeling paste.
Applying gesso and creating a smooth base for the artwork.
Layering acrylic paint with water to achieve soft tones and using gold spray for a striking contrast.
Using newspapers and sponges to create unique effects.
Adding fine lines with masking tape and blending techniques.
How to give your artwork a vintage, patinated look using burnt umber and white highlights.
Materials used:
40 x 40 cm canvas (16 x 16 inches)
Joint compound (or modeling paste)
Gesso
Acrylic paints: Flesh tone, Burnt Umber, White
Gold acrylic spray
Sponge, Spong roller and Sponge Stick
Masking tape
Newspaper
Water and spray bottle

Hola Sergio , wir sind am Dienstag Abend aus Madrid zurück gekommen. Die Bilder am Ende des Videos haben mir ein Tränchen in die Augen gezaubert. Madrid ist eine wunderschöne Stadt und wir haben es sehr genossen, sie zu erkunden. Meine Füße tun jetzt noch weh 😂Die Architektur ist einmalig. Diese Häuserfassaden...ich hab einen steifen Hals vom vielen Hinaufgucken und Fotografieren. Da zu dieser Zeit die Vuelta a España stattgefunden hat, mussten wir ein bisschen improvisieren, aber das hatte letztendlich auch seinen Reiz. Das Wetter war auch ein Traum : sehr warm, aber nicht extrem heiß. Unser Hotel war in der calle Gran Vía, also mitten im Herzen der Stadt. Leider geht alles Schöne auch mal zu Ende und nun sitze ich hier und zehre von der Erinnerung. Deine Heimat ist wirklich wunderschön!!! Liebe Grüße Christina ❤❤❤

Heute sind die Farben wunderbar aufeinander abgestimmt, eine schöne Komposition, wie auch deine Videos schöne Gesamtwerke sind.
Neulich war ich auf einem kleinen Kunsthandwerkermarkt in unserem Ort und eine Frau hatte sehr ansprechende Leinwände gestaltet, viele mit Rosttönen.

En cuanto a los materiales que he utilizado, te comento que ahora en los nuevos videos explico todo en los subtítulos. Cuando veas el video, solo tienes que activar los subtítulos de RUclips para seguir el proceso paso a paso. Para hacerlo, simplemente ve a la parte inferior del video, haz clic en el icono de "CC" (subtítulos), y selecciona el idioma que prefieras. Salut sergio !!!! Pas évident de donner un avis !!!! Je te côtoie depuis si longtemps déjà 😂😂, c'est un peu comme un film en V.O sous-titré 😅😅😅 si tu lit, tu voit pas la video et si tu regardes la vidéo..... mais je suis un mauvais exemple, et je préfère décrypter tes gestes, ce qui me permet de ne pas lire!!! Mais,mais comme je suis chiant, et que je ne me lasse pas de tes vidéos, j'ai le temps de lire... après. Sérieusement, la formule est plus conviviale, moins stéréotypé.

If newspaper print is too heavy or greasy, it can create a "photo transfer" effect. That's why it's always a good idea to run tests on a dedicated canvas before applying it to your final piece. A few thoughts to help improve the technique:
- Watch the moisture levels: If your painting surface is too wet, the newspaper will absorb more and leave behind more ink. Let the paint dry slightly or reduce the moisture before pressing the paper down.
- Pick the right newspaper: Not all newspapers are created equal. Some use inks that transfer more easily than others, so try experimenting with different types until you find one that works best.
- Go easy on the pressure: When applying the newspaper, be gentle. Too much pressure can cause an unwanted transfer of text or images.
- Keep testing: As I mentioned, it’s useful to have a canvas dedicated to testing. This gives you a space to experiment freely without risking your main work.
