Done some quick and dirty test runs (on a Windows machine), here are some additional notes:
    - If you have the full version of Kontakt, but can't find Creator Tools, open Native Access and install it.
    - Make sure that there are no subfolders with audio data in your sample directory, because the script will also include files in subfolders. I once got a nicely mapped impulse response. ^^
Pitch detection worked quite well. Even with short percussive samples that weren't tuned at all I still got a somewhat decent mapping.
    Thanks Dave!

Thank you for this… its sort of amazing that NI don't have a LOT more scripts and Walk throughs on this… So again, THANK YOU FOR STEPPING IN.

This saves a lot of drag and dropping to exact velocity range work.
Saves my precious time and can spend some time on GUI.
    THANKS DAVE!

This is brilliant, Dave. Finally got round to watching and I love how well this is explained, including leaving things open for more learning with Lua script. Thanks so much!

Wow.... this seems pretty huge. I've learned so much from your videos on how to create Kontakt instruments. I'd really be lost without you! I've honestly been avoiding making a new Kontakt instrument of piano samples I recorded (hundreds of samples..) -- but this seems like it's going to make it much much easier ! THANK YOU

This should run inside of Kontakt, by drag and drop, mapping by pitch and volume (velocity).

Kontakt requires a lot of effort for simple things where in other samplers can be completed in the blink of an eye.
The most famous library platform needs a major update which has been delayed for over 10 years.

Thank you for this. Creator tools is obviously powerful but there seems to be very few walk throughs showing how to use it. VERY MUCH APPRECIATED

Thanks for sharing this! A deep dive into LUA would be much appreciated. Reason Studios handles controller scripts in LUA. I was planning to customize the AKIA MidiMix but gave up in the end.

Nice explain but what I will rename my samples I mean no need to put key notes 😬 in the end of samples

Awesome! This is going to be really helpful for large sound sets, although maybe a bit messy if files are not labeled. I wonder how well it works when the tone is too off or the sound too noisy, or when it goes from C to C# and so.
    Thanks David!

Does Decent Sampler have a basic drag and drop system for the non-scripters , align the samples simply. Thanks

Thanks. I find it very strange that only Logic sampler of all the samplers I know of is able to do this automatically. Or actually ThumbJam app can, but it's only for iOS. It shouldn't be very hard to detect the pitch and compare the amplitude of the samples so why don't every sampler do that?

Right? It’s absolutely crazy that we’re still doing this in 2020. That being said, this is movement in the right direction.

@@DavidHilowitzMusic A little bit of history: Once upon a time (2009!!) there was an amazing set of apps created by an Italian genius (AutoSampler & KeymapPro) that were doing this and a lot more than this. Sadly Apple bought the company (Redmatica) and transformed those amazing apps in "Autosampler" that sadly use only 10% of the power of those apps.

Hi David, this is great. Question - is there a script available to automap samples to an existing group?

  • @kirkegodfrey414
    @kirkegodfrey414 3 года назад

Long time listener first time caller😃. If a subset of soft samples are recorded at a lower volume, let’s say -22dB. Then mapped to a low vel range zone, with the louder samples reading at say... -3dB, and if the amp is then made vel responsive, then surely the samples are played back at a quieter vol via amp , AND lower volume due to being -22dB. So there will be a real STEP when transitioning between the 2 vel ranges.
    Any thoughts?
Ps. Please do more of these are they are incredibly helpful

If I map a sample in, it plays slower at the lower notes and speeds up as you go up the keyboard. Is there a way to make the keys all have the same adsr?

Weird, doesn't work for me. I have my samples named G2.WAV, etc., still Kontakt doesn't import them. The Creator Tools seems to detect them, but then it doesn't import them into Kontakt. Any ideas why?

Creator Tools comes with Kontakt 6. You should be able to find it in the Start Menu in the same program group as Kontakt 6.
