Provost Park Pass is going to show you the difference between Walt Disney Worlds version and Disneyland's version of its a small world ride. Who has the longer ride? I'd say Disneyland. The outside just gives it a nice, whimsical and magical feel.
I enjoy therides insides..the update with the Disney characters I like better than the HM holiday since it's not intended to be satantic (inading Christmas) (Ghosts are, always, TOTALLY welcome on HALLOWE'EN, just not at CHRISTMAS ha ha!)
Disneyland does a holiday overlay and magic kingdom dosent they project stuff on the facade at Disneyland not at magic kingdom Disneyland has a different type and got creative while magic kingdom copied the other parks finale Disneyland does a clock parade while magic kingdom dosent Disneyland is the only one that was created in 1966
The tea cup ride at the Magic Kingdom is covered, whereas the one at Disneyland isn’t covered. This is because of the rain they get in Florida.

When I first when there, around opening May 28,1966, there were no Disney characters (a lot of the ones of which, like LOittle Meramid, wouldn't even appear for years!). Don't forget, everyone, the clock has real gold (see PPP's SECRETS OF IT'S SMALL WORLD from previous yr)
Disneyland’s version is best ride, but the amount of fun you had at that window gives WDW bonus points for the overall experience!
If only for the historic, New York World's Fair facade, the May 1966 Disneyland version..
Wow! So many differences - I love looking at the lights during the Holiday version.... always special getting on a boat in the evening and looking up at the beautiful lights

I realize WDW needs to be indoors due to frequent rains and the unbearable humidity, but it is such a disappointment not having the grand outdoor facade with all the topiaries. It makes it for me.

One thing that bugs me is that there are llamas in the South America room, yet no Kuzco. I mean, I get it. Apparently it didn't do well in theaters, but it has a HUUUUGE cult following, and created a bunch of memes!

I was a Freshman in High School when my entire school went to the N.Y.C. World Fair. Why not we only lived up the Hudson River from the city. And that was my first experience seeing IT'S A SMALL WORLD.....after all. When I returned from Vietnam in 1971 I rented a beach house in Orange County, CA. So it was easy to have a date night in Disneyland and ride IT'S A SMALL WORLD again, again, and again. But it wasn't until I was hired by WDW to work on "Adventure Through Inner Space" that I had the free time to see IT'S A SMALL WORLD in Orlando. Now at 70 IF Disney Parks and Resorts in Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai, or Hong Kong need me I'd be glad to get a work Visa.

We've started a tradition where we head over to It's a Small World 30 minutes before closing and then run over to Pirate's about 5-10 minutes before closing.

Loved your video Chris. You were having so much fun at the window trying to get those people to react to you. I love the clock at the small world in Disneyland. At WDW we usually use Small world to get on and rest for a while. I can actually fall asleep while on it. One question i always have is why do people need to toss coins in the water. Definitely the best ride to go on when you need a break or it's too hot. California wins for sure, but that restaurant where you can interact with the line is pretty sweet!
One cool fact is that the song was originally written as a ballad. Not that upbeat as it is today.
What's the difference between splash mountain at Disneyland and Disney world
WDW’s is longer than DL’s, the music for WDW’s has more of a frontier style to match up with Frontierland. And the music for DL’s has more of a bluegrass type to match with Critter Country. Pretty cool actually

WDW is cool with the restaurant right next to it, and how you can hold up signs and make people do the stuff that’s on the signs, but there is no clock parade. And it’s inside??? Disneyland for the win, because it has the clock parade and its outside look is beauty.
One of my favorite rides, it has my favorite animal in it---a Scottish Highland Cow! (I've only been to WDW though, not Disneyland)
disneyland in my opinion is the best version. but there are 3 things i like about the florida one. i like how in florida’s version they have a restaurant right next to it, so when you eat you can see small world just by looking out the window. i also like the flooded style water ways in florida better oppose to the basic flume style water ways in disneyland. having the flooded waterways in disney world, makes it feel like you are in a ocean, sailing around the world. and, isn’t that the whole point of the theming of the ride? lastly, the one scene that i think is better in florida, is the finale. it has a carousel, a ferris wheel, and more. disneyland’s finale scene is kind of basic, with all there is being dolls on big stands. but overall, disneyland’s version is better in my book. it has the holiday overlay, better maintenance, a longer ride time, has disney characters, the facade is outdoors making it stand out, and it just feels whimsical. but in disney world’s version, it’s indoors and it feels like a warehouse. plus, when the clock parade happens in disneyland’s small world, the wooden dolls come out the bottom doors and they dance around the clock tower. disney world’s version has that too, but the bottom doors don’t open because it’s inside due to the amount of rain that florida gets. all that happens is the 2 side doors open with the toy soldiers inside, as well as the front doors that tell the time at both disneyland and disney world. i’m not saying that disney world’s version of its a small world is a bad ride. it’s the one i grew up with and i still absolutely love it. but overall, disneyland does it better.
(i also like the rainbow facade a tiny bit in florida’s version, but i liked the white and gold way more before it got that 50th makeover.)
This is another one where Disneyland is the clear winner. I love the inclusion of the classic characters throughout the ride at land. the outside is beautiful at land it is odd at world. i actually look forward to this ride at land and i avoid it at almost all costs at world.

I used to love riding Big Thunder at the Magic Kingdom. But after the larger drops at Big Thunder at Disneyland, it completely turned me off from roller coasters. I haven’t ridden Big Thunder since.
One time on It's a Small World in WDW the boat I was on somehow tipped off the track. We were stuck inside for about 45 minutes. Right next to a hyena laughing at us. Haven't been on the ride since,,,, True story!

Love Small World at Disneyland, especially at Christmas. I can understand the construction of the ride being different at Disney World. We have to remember their weather is different from California, hurricanes and all and I'm sure the building codes are also different in Florida.

You finally have your beard back Chris. It repeats over and over in your head until the ride ends. Florida’s version of it’s a small world is I minute shorter than Disneyland 🤩 now that’s something that I didn’t know about the Walt Disney world version if it’s a small world I already know about Disneyland version if it’s a small world but not the walt Disney world version if it’s a small world 🌍 version now that’s incredible. The Walt Disney world’s version of it’s a small world definitely would need a refurbishment with the Disney characters now that would be awesome to include with the Disney characters fir my opinion would say.
I don’t care about the ride itself, but for the facade and clock tower. I’mma say DisneyLand is better since Walt Disney world’s feels cheap (of course due to it being it inside and lack of space) but I prefer the original. And I also live a hour away from DisneyLand so yeah.

When you guys were at Disneyland Paris did their It's a Small World ride have this small structure with holograms of all the different countries with their Small World ride character? At least I think that's what it was. It's been awhile. I went in 1996 when the park seemed like it was as big as Mickey's Toontown.

My last trip I rode Small World twice! It was my 3 year old's first time, the first time he decided he was going to take a nap while we were in line... while in my arms, so we went through the ride while he was asleep... then went to Downtown Disney hit up one of the fancy ice cream places, wife and I enjoyed a tasty ice cream cone... all the while he was asleep... then later when he woke up, we went on :D

I went to Disneyland first time in two yearsd and started by goling on IASM and thought of Chris and Amanda and Miles...and said..Disneyworld has NOTHING opn this (same for Pirates)

MK kept to the original. Disneyland updated. In my mind, we are talking about two different rides with the same theme.
I understand the need for change, but there is a lot to be said for keeping it true to Walt's original.

When I went to WDW for the 1st time in 2001, Small World did NOT have the indoor facade. It was dismal & boring. I love the different colored rooms at WDW + the Hawaiian scene. Love the holiday overlay @ DL. It would confuse WDW guests to have overlays (which they tried) CBJ It's a more European audience on the east coast. Whereas DL would have the "locals" and Asian influence. The overlay for CBJ works in Tokyo DL. DL small world is longer than the World's Fair version. Hong Kong & Paris a re a little different.
I remember, Michael, I went there for the only timr yet, in 1995, just how UNDERWHELMING (unlike their version of Haunted Mansion and the whole Main Street) it was.,.,would love to go to the WDW version now in 2020 once the virus lifts..I lvie in California where the BEST version, IS! (Don't recall, but I think they already had that Pinnochio's resutrants then..)
in Walt Disney world they used to have the little parade at least i think so i was only 5

I have a bias toward the DLR version but it IS genuinely better, in my opinion. Also there's been rumors that WDW will be closing their version soon...ish to add characters. Again, it's a rumor, but I'm curious to see if it'll happen and who they will add!
