The only three things you'd want to consider this over the S22 series are FHD vs QHD, plastic over glass, and 50MP over 12MP. I think the S21 FE is a more reasonable buy once the price drops just right.

The price for the s20 FE was also 699. It only started selling when the S21 vanished from inventory. Or there was a significant deal through the carrier. The price never made sense. And it still doesn't this time around with the S21 FE. It should have been priced at 579.99. 20 less than the Pixel 6 and perfectly placed between the A52 and the S21+ 5G (S21 EOL) and the upcoming S22 replacements.
Some have said that the Pixel 6 was picked this way on purpose. But the Pix l was released first. And if Samsung had any clue they would have priced it competitively.
S21 has gone through some camera improvement throughout all these updates. Approximately after 2nd or 3rd update prior to Android 12, the oversharpening has been toned down, the result of tele/crop camera is definitely better, the notorious background noise has been cleaned out. Rather than thinking not having real tele lens, I find the S21 tele/crop camera to be handy for landscape in bright sunlight as 2nd wide lens. It does retain much more detail and I'm delight to know the tele lens is a non tetra pixel one, so a pure 64mp camera with too little pixel size.
S21 shoots incredibly detailed 64MP photos in good lighting conditions while S21 FE can't. This is a huge deal-breaker when it comes to shooting people or scenery that you want to zoom-in on a large screen. It's pity that so many RUclips reviewers simply ignore the powerful 64MP mode of S21 (as well on A52, A52s and A72).
@@kartik123-t , it has a 64MP camera used as a telephoto by cropping the center of the image. But you can shoot very impressive 64MP photos with its full frame nearly identical to the main camera except that it captures a lot more detail. In good lighting conditions S21's 64MP camera beats the 108MP mode of s21 Ultra and the 50MP mode of Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, because it has more realistic colours and keeps the details same across the entire image, whereas the Mi 11 Ultra is only sharp in the center and the images gets blurry near the corners. Not to mention the very yellowish tint of Mi 11 Ultra that do require manual post processing in a graphics program, and that its battery gets drained extremely fast while shooting photos and videos.

In Finland there was already a carrier specific pre-order deal for S21 FE, got the 128Gb Snapdragon variant for 499€ with free Buds Live earbuds. Mad deal, wait for sales, don't buy this at full price.
^I think that samsung should drop the FE title and instead call it the samsung galaxy s21 lite, there's nothing Fan edition about a phone that doesn't come with an SD card ,charger, and a headphone jack and certainly for the price samsung is asking for this device I'd rather buy the xaomi 11 T pro it is unfortunate that the pixel is not available in my country but there are great phones that are cheaper and they are of great quality.

For me I'm from outside of the US and South Korea, we are getting the exynos version, but I'm not sure why s20 fe in my country is snapdragon but s21 fe is not and that's why this is my current phone
I have the s21+, yeah its good and solid. But the form factor is really irritating. the 21 fe is much more pleasing in hand. thats the only sacrifice I would consider.
S21 FE is a beast. Upgraded from an S9 and I was worried about it but now that I have phone in hand it's 110% worth it. Only thing I will miss is my LED notis and curved screen.

The s21 or s21 ultra is still a much better phone than the FE. Especially the cameras. The s21fe uses an optical fingerprint reader. The s21 and s21 ultra use an ultrasonic fingerprint reader that can read through thin rubber gloves

All are a series of giving and taking. At this point, in the last ten days of January, with the launch of the S22 series on February 7th or 8th, the play would be to wait, see what Samsung brings to the table, and what discounts they are willing to make with the S21 FE. Having Android 12 on board, with three OS updates and four years of Security updates, is a huge plus. The photos were excellent, the town looked beautiful. Take care.
Yeah actually it's just a perfect way for them to manipulate the pricing for the next version of the phone. There's really no practical reason for anyone to buy this phone over at the s20 FE or the s21. And we know carriers will probably be giving this phone away in 6 months

They launched it too late. S21 can be had for about the same price as a S20FE through carriers in Canada at the moment. Once all the S21 are gone the S21fe will sell when compared to S22 prices. The S21 Ultra and S21+ are almost sold out in Canada. Maybe it will raise the price of the S21again once on the market. Who knows.

The EU has told smartphone OEMs to stop supplying chargers with their phones as it is adding markedly to e-waste. They have done their own research and it is significant and bad. So an individual consumer thinking about himself should reflect on the whole rather than what he wants. We have bought several phones this year with no chargers and have just used chargers we already have. This is why Governments have to make these big decisions as individuals do not see or understand the bigger picture. This is the future so best stop whining about it and move on.
S21fe seems to take better photos at all. The big problem is the price. Very expensive. In addition, here in Brazil we will only have the version with exynos 2100 chipset. Disappointing.
Fe21 is a s21 with a Qualcomm 88 processor, the phone is an old phone that Samsung sells for the price of a modern phone. I see that there are cheaper and better phones than it, for example Google Pixel 6 and also iPhone 13

Yeah I don't even think I would call it a good phone. Or at the very least it's a bad value proposition in this market. I mean someone coming from a budget Android will love this phone I'm sure, but someone coming from a Note 9? I'm not so sure you're giving up quad HD, Iris scanner, capacitive fingerprint scanner, headphone jack, and premium glass build. I recognize not everyone cares about the glass build or even prefers it. Even in that case the s20 FE has more RAM and expandable storage and a charger in the box.

guys it has a 64 MP telephoto . it has a primary sensor of 12mp. that's y every you tuber has ignored it

It should be cheaper, and should have SD Slot, and they should have got rid of 6Ram 128GB, as this is what you get with A52/A72.

10:21 the same dark spot appeared the left ear on both image, S21 FE happened to coincide with the rear ground dark spot, that's what happened

I was originally worried about the low resolution of the main sensor, but that's pretty much mitigated by including a telephoto.

S21fe seems to take better photos at all. The big problem is the price. Very expensive. In addition, here in Brazil we will only have the version with exynos 2100 chipset. Disappointing.
Fe21 is a s21 with a Qualcomm 88 processor, the phone is an old phone that Samsung sells for the price of a modern phone. I see that there are cheaper and better phones than it, for example Google Pixel 6 and also iPhone 13

The S21 FE came in too late and priced too high at launch. Keep in tmind the original S21 and S21+ have fallen in price, and here im from the former can be bought at roughly the same price as the S21 FE brand new.
Got the S21 FE for approx. 450 USD and at that price it's a great deal

Should i replace my one year S21 with s21fe? Simply due to the S21 battery life annoys me so much. The plus version is too big of screen imo

Its now 580 dollars (538 euros) cause of a 100 euro cashback deal where I live. And I can get it for 480 cause of a giftcard. Is that a good deal then? I need a phone that can multitask well and have a decent camera and battery

This is a good phone but I guess it's too little too late for it coz it's priced at $699 whereas you can get S21 around the same cost with some offers also not to forget S22 is gonna launch soon and considering previous year, the base model of S22 may be around $800 so ppl may wait for it and buy that instead..!!
Yeah I don't even think I would call it a good phone. Or at the very least it's a bad value proposition in this market. I mean someone coming from a budget Android will love this phone I'm sure, but someone coming from a Note 9? I'm not so sure you're giving up quad HD, Iris scanner, capacitive fingerprint scanner, headphone jack, and premium glass build. I recognize not everyone cares about the glass build or even prefers it. Even in that case the s20 FE has more RAM and expandable storage and a charger in the box.
