It seemed a little cold and windy in Chiyoda, that day. I doubt you were dressed warmly enough for the occasion but I have to say you looked beyond beautiful in that oversized white vest and your famous fiery orange / bright red dress. Magnificent, 🔥❤️👍.
I am by no means in a hurry to leave Asakusa but when, eventually, I will decide to go pay my respects to old friends in the West and perhaps visit my acquaintances in the North, I might be interested in getting a Japan Rail pass and buying a ticket aboard the legendary Shinkansen, right out of Tokyo Station. I assume there are just as many north bound trains towards Utsunomiya, Nikko, Fukushima, etc leaving from Ueno but that video convinced me Tokyo Station was a place to visit, if not for its trains, then for its early 20th century historical value. The main building kind of reminded me of the European-style docks in Yokohama, all in red bricks. Very Dutch / British. The constructions of post-1868 Japan are not my favorites but still, that’s worth a look.
Thank you as always for taking us to all these notorious and emblematic places, ancient and modern. One week, deep in the Hida mountains, climbing up to Togakushi-jinja ; the next, right back into the beating heart of Tokyo. As expected from 弥里さん, the best and most beautiful ambassador of Japan, 🙏❤️😊. いつもありがとうございます、🚄🎌👍。

A beautiful building, that survived, mostly anyway, both the 1923 earthquake and World War II bombings but was planned to be demolished (?!) in the 1980's, plans wisely rejected. It was probably even more beautiful in 1914 without the skyscrapers surrounding it. The only thing was that there was no Misa around back then and not for about 80 years to go. So of course, I still prefer seeing it today in the company of Empress Misa, leaving her Kokyo residence in Asakusa for a short while to do her best to make her people happy - and, as expected, largely succeeds in doing so. 😉
Glad those plans fell through, plenty of cases of beautiful train stations around the world being demolished and replaced with ugly utilitarian ones.

Have you ever made a video tour of Shibuya’s "Miyashita Park" near Shibuya Station? They have a rooftop park with a Starbucks and lots of sports activities with a view of the trains from the roof and lots of restaurants and stores and some museum galleries. I think they have a KitKat shop. Also, next door, there is a famous alleyway with rows of old-style traditional restaurants.

ちなみに皇居はもともと江戸城でした。今皇居周辺に立ってる古くてりっぱな門は江戸城の大天守があった時から残ってる門で日本武道館がある二の丸公園内にある二の丸の門も江戸城があった江戸時代からずっと残されてる門ですよ。ちなみに皇居内に一般人でも入れる場所があるのでこんどぜひ行ってみて下さい。江戸城の石垣とかが見れますよ。あと皇居でしかもらえない御朱印が宮内庁本庁舎でもらえるみたいですよ。
