Thanks it worked for me. Would there be a way to lock the device with screen message something like "This device is lost.......... please return.....". This way no one can access the phone.
Jeffrey Im using aPowerMirror which is free and installed on both a Apple Mac and the Android device. I connect the two via cable but you can use your wi-fi
pre-requisite are location service of the device must turned on and location permission of Intune app must set "allowed all the time". if one of the settings is off, locate device will fails. anyone manage to tackle these 2 challenges so users cannot turn off the settings?
Interesting--we have always been able to get the lost device sound to play-but across 4 devices with the profile successfully deployed locate device consistently fails and this is in the US on devices where find device used to work 100% of the time through MaaS360.
@theCMC on one device we get the notice that thr admin is trying to locate the device but no devices can be located. No error just "locate device failed."
@@omardroubi5422 We are experiencing the same issue. When we manually set Location Services to Allow in the Intune app on the Android Device, then it works. But as soon as we set the Location Services for the Intune app to Block (which is the default), locate device fails.
Testing this it looks like it only works if the phone is unlocked which is not any good for a lost device, just get action failed when device is locked as soon as unlocked and click refresh it works
Magic thanks mate, been looking high and low and didnt realize it was hiding in Device Restrictions!!!
Thanks Andy, very useful post on the location side / last location helps too re where a user last had a device to find it if known, top one as always.
Thanks Andrew
