Massive thank you for all your support in 2023 and joining me on these fantastic walks and explorations. We've walked rivers and brooks from the Quaggy, Shuttle, Brent, Wye, Medway, Lea, Beverley Brook, Norbury Brook, Stonebridge Brook, and drifted down the River Roding in a coracle. We've explored London North, South, East and West from Barking Riverside to Streatham Common, and from Perivale to Crouch End. The City of London has offered up some of its many secrets and mysteries with many many more to uncover. And we've ventured beyond along the Medway Estuary and the Kent Coast, out to Buckinghamshire, Norwich, Woodbridge in Suffolk and even to explore Seville in Spain. What an amazing year it's been and none of it would be possible without you coming along.
Here's to another great year of walking and exploring in 2024.

Nice job John. I watched all of them over the year from my home in New England. How about a walk this year where you visit places related to prominent American founding fathers and colonists with ties to London? Ben Franklin comes to mind but I could also suggest Roger Williams, John Winthrop, Cecil Calvert, William Penn, Benedict Arnold, Samuel Slater.

I had a tough start to the year but I always find by watching one of your walks I can just lose myself, switch off and be beguiled by them, almost like you forget any troubles for 30 minutes, so that thank you John.

Some really interesting and enjoyable walks. My favourite was the Wye, which illustrated both its beauty and also its sad neglect, in places. The Brent, similarly. The strangest was the drift along the Roding - quite amazing how the current simply propelled you along until that railway bridge got in the way. Best wishes for more great walks in 2024.

I always enjoy your walks and when you talk about lost rivers and rivers covered over I think of a book by Christopher Fowler called "The Water Room" in which a woman who has recently bought her house in London is puzzled by her very damp basement and "the ghostly sound of rushing water." I look forward to accompanying you, from my arm chair in Massachusetts, on your walks in 2024!

Hi John, I just had a thought.
With the biblical deluge of rain we've been having in the South over the past few days, I would imagine that a lot of the smaller Lost Rivers in London and most of their tributaries, that might have been just a tiny trickle beforehand, will currently be quite substantial in size and easier to find and map.

John, thank you for the beautiful video. The editing was excellent and brought back many happy memories of "cyber walking" with you in 2023. I live in the other London (Ontario Canada) and we also have all of the street names you walk, but the architecture just does not compare (the oldest are only 175 years). I am wishing you the best for 2024. I noticed you missed mentioning Barking Mad which is just the other side of Riverside Barking. I have always wanted to go there. Perhaps in 2024.
